Since i last listened to my iphone via headphones I now have an icon next to my ipod controls which is a rectangle with an upwards arrow at the bottom of it. When i press it it asks whether to use the main iphone speakers or the ear piece used when taking a call. What is this and how do i get rid? It is stopping some apps from outputting sound.
When I use the controls on my Motorola S305 Bluetooth headphones and Spotify such as play, pause, next song, etc. It automatically opens up the stock music app and starts playing those songs and Spotify stops playing. Is there any way to control which application the AVRCP bluetooth profile controls? I didn't have this problem on my Nexus One.
For a couple days now an icon that is a white envelope with a blackberry symbol in the middle and a white and red exclamation point and been on my home screen. i am not able to open the icon
its not a normal blackberry icon and i dont know what the number 49 represents. I've called ATT and they can send something OTA to remove it, but it comes back in a few minutes. i took a screenshot and expanded it..
Yesterday I've noticed one strange icon on my home/start screen that wasn't there before. It's right next to my alarm icon and it looks like space which have up arrow above it. (just like combined space and shift symbols on keypad) What does it stand for? Should it be there, and how to turn that off?
I recently performed a battery pull to re-establish connection with the local EDGE network, and as expected, all the emails that I received while not in contact with EDGE came flooding in. What also appeared was an icon I've never seen before, an orange envelope with a sort or ribbon encircling it, and it only appears in front of the "Email Messages" icon, not the "Messages" or "SMS and MMS" icons, and is not accompanied by the usual tiny envelope icon with the number next to it that appears on the Home Screen whenever I have new messages. I've emptied out the Email folder, but it's still there.
I have noticed that there is an odd icon (black circle with white arrow inside) in the upper right corner of the phone, next to the bluetooth icon and I have no idea what it is. Anyone ever seen this or know what it is?I'm also wondering if this has anything to do with the sound not working either. I have the profile set to normal, and all calls set to sound and yet when any calls come in, there is no sound at all. I have check all the sound settings and everything is set to have sound, so I have no idea whats going on.Any help would be appreciated.
My W518 hava a strange icon in the status bar, and i search in the manual and internet and i don't find it, the description of the icon is a Green phone but under the phone appear a number i don't know the meaning of the icon.
My daughter has a w595 and recently a purple double square icon has appeared at the top of the screen next to the signal bar.Could anyone please advise what this icon is for and how to remove it if possible.
Can anyone please explain why i have a new 'mini orange envelope' icon with a 'thin swirly line round it' at the bottom of my folder on my 2 x hotmail accounts folders? They used to just be plain envelopes icons. Has something happened that I should be aware of or is something saved? What is this new icon alerting me to? or is this just a creative upgrade?(I auto-upgraded my BB Desktop Software to 6.0.0.40 recently, is this related?)I have always had a 'mini globe' icon at the bottom of my folder for my Gmail account. This has stayed the same. Does it perhaps represent a pop/hotmail account as opposed to a gmail-forwarded account?
I have an icon that I can find nothing about. I have an xperia play and right below the clock in the upper right hand corner is a flashing icon that looks like a gear. It's an AT&T phone and their logo is right in the middle of it. I contacted them first and their tech support is stumped as well and suggested that I come here but I can find nothing on this site either. Nothing in any video I've seen or in the manual. Tried pushing it, nothing happens.
I'm planing to switch to Lumia 930 from iPhone 5s, and so far, everything what i've found convinced me to make a switch except audio quality when listening to the (local) music. I just really can't find impressions from actual user about this. Many people are telling me that audio quality with in ear headphones is terrible, cant even be compared with iPhone 5s' sound quality. But honestly I doubt that it can be THAT BAD on one flagship phone.
I'm using iphone since 3g, i switched once to Galaxy S (when it was released) then after couple of months moved back to iphone, and another trip to android last year with Xperia Z but couldn't wait to get rid of android once again. Quality on both android phones was noticeably worse than on any iphone i used. I don't want to make same mistake again since listening to the music on the phone is a big thing for me.
I recently updated my Nokia 928 to a Nokia Icon. Ever since, I have had intermittent problems with my Bluetooth audio in my Acura TSX. The song will sometimes breakup or skip, almost like an old record with a scratch. Despite reminiscing about the good old days of record albums, this is a real nuisance.
I'm having problems with the audio on my Bold 9700. It's turning off and on every second and there's a flashing headphone icon in the top left corner of the screen. I plugged headphones into the phone for a while yesterday - I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it.
It's really ridiculous that RIM doesn't have actual tech support people that customers can call.

I am having two problems with Nokia Camera on my Icon. When recording a video in Nokia Camera. I have found that it isn't recording sound. When recording a video in Nokia Camera, it takes about 5 seconds after hitting the record button for it to actually start recording.
I am not sure how to replicate the issue because it has only happened a few times and it will fix itself by restarting the phone.
When it does happen it will happen every time I record a video through Nokia Camera until a reboot. I at least now figured out that if I hit record and there is a delay between it actually starting to record, then the sound will not be recorded so a restart is necessary.
I can still record through the WP camera app and audio will be recorded, but this is a huge problem for me. I have about 5 videos that I have taken in the past week that were actually pretty important that have no sound now.
I uninstalled Nokia Camera and reinstalled and it still did it. Is this a Nokia Camera bug or an Icon bug?
Recently I attended a conference and recorded the audio on my iPhone3. I want to transpose the information to a document without the agony of typing every word. Is there an app for this purpose?
There has been a lot written about "choppy playback" of iPhone video once it's trasferred to another device. It seems to me that the problem is in the frame rate used in the original video. In Quicktime, I'm seeing an actual frame rate on playback of something like 18 FPS, when the file is stamped with 30 FPS. When will this issue be resolved by Apple? And for now, what is the best work around? I've already begun experimenting with different settings during export from Quicktime.Choosing iPhone as a setting creates a .m4v file, but the image size is greatly reduced, and the conversion is very time consuming.Howeber the frame rate issue seems to be resolved--no more choppy playback and the new file is playing back at a true 30 FPS (or maybe it's 29.97 but that's another topic).
It's been said before but I'll say it again: it's beyond belief that Apple can release hardware and software Even for the most novice user, this is totally unacceptable.
Does anyone else get a strange line at the top of their screen when they are rebooting and on the screen which shows the Apple logo? It's not causing any problems I don't think but I'm just wondering if anyone else is getting it
I'm working with a friend this morning whose iPhone 4 is in a strange mode. When any icon is pressed - whether it's an icon for an app, the battery symbol, the slide unlock, etc... a border appears around the icon when pressed and icons will not open unless double tapped. The phone is also running unusually sluggish.
OK, looked at every app , every notification, every sound on the device and cannot find this. My phone makes two strange sounds. Sometimes once a day, sometimes twice in 5 minutes. No rhyme or reason. And after the sound, I check everything from messages, to voicemail, to app updates, to Ebay to - you name it, and nothing new.One sound sounds like :di-di di dih-goosz goosz goosz with the "goosz's" getting lower in volume and sounding gritty.
The other sound is similar, but different.Any ideas at all? I know if I go to the Apple store it will never happen when I am there.
My iPhone keeps making the strangest sound... it's completely random, it's not tied to any notification that I can find (and I've been searching...). It is similar to the "Calypso" tone that's built in, but deeper, minor, a bit resonant, more "crap, something's wrong with your phone" sounding. It's an ascending minor third, but not exactly. It happens a few times a day. No pattern to the times. For example, today, it happened around 11:55AM, then around 1:10PM. No emails or texts or notifications happened at those times. Like I said, I've combed through all the notifications and sounds and apps and still haven't found it. I have no way to record it because it happens so randomly.
I know there are a few applications for using the IPod music controls outside of the actual application, i.e. from the lock screen. None of the ones that I've seen though have the scrolling option. Does anyone know of an application that does this?
