just got my 822 yesterday and am in the process of setting everything up. I activated the "kids corner" app and went to download games. At the start you have to put in your birthdate. I thought it meant my son's but now when I go to buy apps it says the parent permission won't allow it. I went to the site and it says I have to create an account for my son using his emaiI. He is 6 and I do not want to create an email account for him. How do I change the birthdate info so it reflects me not him?
if there is a way OTHER THAN using Restrictions to do the following:Add time of day that child can access iphone to surf the web (internet browsing)Add time of day that child can access iphone game applications to play their games?
E73 running symbian etc. on T-mobile network. Used on an Wireless LAN for calls / web as well as regular cell, as per most people.
I found (looking from both PC-suite and via phone's application manager) that I had new installs of Fr0MA_0x2000E2FC, the Fr0MA_installer, MDM_Client, Media DS Plugin, MMS DS Plugin, PIPS Installer, etc. Never saw them earlier.
These are new to me, but web searches show they can be associated with digital rights. However, given potential power of the Apps from a remote site I was worried.
1. If I remove them is there any risk to phone use (i.e., if needed can I reinstall them).
2. Where are they likely to have recently appeared from (another app's support, malware, T-mobile or Nokia).
Is there such a thing available for current Asha and Lumia models? Just like the Apple - In-Ear Headphones with Remote and Mic for iPod and iPhone. I know, I know, the Nokias are wired differently so the Iphone Headset will not work(?). But I still need the fast forward and rewind buttons to conveniently listen to audio books.
Why is Windows Phone having version 7.5 if it still can't set different volumes for music and notifications... When I listen to radio the volume setting of 1 is often loud enough, if I then put it in my pocket I mis all calls as it is not loud enough. If I set it back at level 25 I get woken up at night for incoming mails... BTW, why can't I even define (off-)peak synchronisation intervals for my mails?
Having difficulty with voice control when driving at highway speeds? I drive a 2007 VW GLI and once I'm over 50 MPH I can't get the voice control to function -- even is I scream, yell or talk loudly at it.
Is it possible that on the next firmware update, the volume control for the music and ring/message tone is separated?
Like when you're listening to music, when you press the volume rocker, it will set the volume just for the music and not the current volume setting of the message/ring tone?
On my old galaxy s3 I could control the music player by voice to skip songs, pause etc. The s6 version of TouchWiz does not have this. Any app where I can get these functions back?
I am sure there is no way to do this (not that I could find while googling without rooting, and I won't do that), but is there a way to control apps on your phone from a PC?
I have seen something with rooting, and I seen something about downloading an SDK and some java stuff, but that doesn't seem secure and a lot of work for something that should be simple if possible.
I don't want to have the phone plugged into a computer, but if I have to, I will. I do not own any docks or etc, otherwise this would be really simple I know.
Did I mess with a setting or something? When I press the volume buttons nothing happens. When I use them during a call I can raise voice volume but I cant raise any volume atbany other time?
Coming from a Razr Maxx that had issues, I am accustomed to checking my Running Apps list following a start-up/power cycle and force stopping the ones that are not essential to the phone functioning properly. And it seems old habits die hard as I caught myself doing just this on my Turbo and, what do you know.. some of the same apps are running immediately after start-up, despite the fact that I haven't opened them. A few of the culprits are Password Keeper and YouTube. I do use/open these apps on occasion (1-2 times per month) but I certainly do not like them running automatically for no reason. Nothing I do on the phone on a daily basis requires them to be open. It's a PITA to have to go in and manually tell them to shut the heck up! (Yes, I have gone into the settings on each of these apps but there is no box to uncheck to not have the app run on start-up.) So, it would be ever so nice to be able to have a say on what runs and what doesn't
parental restrictions password was set on my 4S, and now wanting to take them off, but the problem is, i have forgotten the password. The bigger problem with this is that my macbook got a new harddrive so i can not restore from a previous back-up before the restrictions and i do not want to reset from factory settings as i will have nothing and no way of getting anything back.
I'm a spotify user. In my car I use a Pioneer bluetooth radio player connected to my lumia 950.
I can control the spotify app (play/pause, next track,...) with the radio's control buttons. When I turn off the car, the track stops playing, when I turn the car on, the playlist/track resumes. But this only works for like 5-10min.
If the car is turned off like over night etc. and I turn it on, it correctly shows the connection to my phone, but the spotify app does not continue to resume the playlist (spotify app is still "running" in the background). Even if configured to open the spotify app when the phone is connected to my cars radio player (via gadget app).
--> I need to open the spotify app on my phone, press play there. --> Now it is possible to control it via my radio again.
How to teach the phone to just "play" when it is connected to the radio and I press play? Or just to continue playing when reconnected? The spotify app has like all permissions it asks for... And it seems not to be a problem with my car's radio player, because it's the same story when testing with my bose soundlink...
I have been having a serious issue with my Lumia 1020 there is no audio from the phone what so ever. I cant hear people when they ring and they cant hear me. The phone does not let me play music on it or play videos unless I go onto the internet and look at a youtube video but there is still no sound from it. Another issue is that when I go onto the camera app and select to take a video the phone closes its self out of the app. It does this same thing in other apps were I try to play any type of audio. There is no volume control because when the buttons are pressed a small gray strip across the top of the screen appears and goes away after a couple of seconds. Mechanically the buttons work as a have performed multiple master resets on the phone which involves using the volume down button.
Would it be possible to use a bluetooth-remotecontrol to take pics/start videorecording on the 1020? It does support new BT-protocols, so maybe someone with a BT-headset could give it a try?
Just bought my Nokia Lumia 920 and noticed that some Nokia apps are missing in the Nokia Collection in the Windows Phone store (for example: Nokia Reading and Play To). If you do try to install them, you get an error saying that the app only works on a 480x800 resolution. when (or if) these apps are available on a Lumia 920?
I have just got a Curve 9320 for my 'tweenage' son and obviously wanted to set up some parental controls. However, it appears that the only setting there is on the phone is to completely block browser access, which somewhat defeats the object of getting him a contract that includes unlimited data. I have installed an app that can monitor phone usage, including logging websites visited - this works brilliantly on my Android phone but apparently the website tracker function won't work with Blackberrys. Is there any way of either restricting website access or tracking websites that he has visited (even though he may have already deleted browsing history)?
will the apps developed for wp7.5 be compatible with wp8? are the apps hardware dependent? specific apps in question are the third party apps for the FM radio
I've had the Lumia 920 for about a week and a half now without any problems, and after the complimentary wireless charger came in, I used it. But now some of my phone's basic apps will not start. When I tap them, it shifts to a black screen (time still visible at the top right), and after a couple of seconds of nothing happening, the phone brings itself back to the start screen. Apps that still work are one's I've downloaded myself from the store and Music+Videos, but just to name a couple, apps like Messaging, Camera, Calculator, Calendar, Contacts, Settings, Mail, Internet Explorer, all give me the problem I've described.
I've tried turning the phone off and on several times, including a soft reset, but no luck.
I have not tried a hard reset yet as I was hoping there might be a solution without having to resort to that.
This is probably an error 40, but I can't fix it. - There's a space in the top of the homescreen that was filled to begin with - now there's a gap (see the picture) and I can't make the app icons 'fit' to the top anymore.
