(Determined under data usage after logging into [URL]This seems quite excessive to me - what exactly is being transferred? This even happens at night when I'm not getting any emails at all!Here is what I have linked on my phone:
1. 1 GMAIL address (IMAP with Calendar and Contacts Sync'd)
2. 1 Yahoo(Rogers) email address (IMAP)
3. The Weather Channel app that updates the weather in a tile
Is there anything I should check/tweak to reduce this?

Dec 16, 2012Do my media messages result in data usage because my internet/MMS apn is not added? I honestly have no idea what those are, but I thought that my WiFi/unlimited texting plan would cover my media messages. However, I have to enable my cellular data to send/receive such messages. If the only way for me to send picture and video messages is through using my cellular data, it feels like a waste

Feb 28, 2015Since 2/23, I have had massive data usage at random times. 1GB here and there, sometimes in the middle of the night.My Data Sense shows that the "Restore data" app has used 8.17 GB in the last two days. All of my other apps are using negligible amounts of data.What is the "Restore data" app, and how do I tell it to stop using so much data?
One additional bit of info: 2/23 was also the date that the Microsoft Health app updated. I use a MS Band. It seems like there may have been some type of update pending on the band. When I called Verizon's tech support, they said that the pending update might have something to do with the massive data usage. We completed the update to the Band, and they said to give it another day to see if the data usage continues. What this "Restore data" app is, it doesn't sound like it has anything to do with the Band.
Lumia 950 :: Data Usage As Mobile Hotspot
Jan 27, 2016I have the Lumia 950, just traded up from 1020.
The data usage meter in the system settings did not pick up the usage while in mobile hotspot mode. It missed 2Gb of cloud sync with my ultrabook.
I have searched forums and spoke to a seemingly knowledgeable person at Microsoft store, who told me he had not heard of this problem.
I checked the Windows Feedback app and there are several other reports of the same. Yet, it is not a big trending item in forums. Tracking data when in hotspot should be a primary function.
Lumia 950 XL :: Second SIM Showing Data Usage When No Sim Card Is Installed
Jan 12, 2016So this is a two-fold issue. The first and most major is that my second SIM card is showing that it has data usage (by an assortment of apps, and mainly System). This is viewable via the Data Usage in settings. I wouldn't normally care too much as long as the SIM 1 data usage is accurate.
The second issue stems from this. I have it set as a metered connection and the correct values set for data allowance, etc. It is still showing data available, with about 250MB still left (out of 2GB). Every time I enter or leave a WIFI network (or it detects a wifi network for auto-connect), I am getting a notification saying that I have used more data than I have allotted. Then when I go to the data usage, it shows that I still have data. Now, the SIM 2 is also showing data, which when added to the SIM 1, would put it over my allotted.
So a couple things:
SIM 2 is showing data usage even without SIM card'You've reached your data limit' notification keeps popping up even though I have data leftData Usage metered connection not showing total usage for both SIM within metered usage even though it's generating it's message based on that.
It is pretty annoying getting that notification all the time, especially since it's a system notification and I like having those set to sound. Also, I can't have 'restrict data usage on overage' turned on due to this bug.
IPhone :: Wifi Usage Counting As Data Usage
May 25, 2012My husband and I both have the iPhone 3GS. My husband's phone however will count on the phones data usage 20mb over night while it is charging and on our wifi. it is counting this towards his 3g usage and not wifi. We have already had APPLE reset everything at the store. it is still doing it. so he has to turn off all cellualar data usage at night or it keeps racking up the usage even though it is on our wifi. I plug my phone in at night as well and mine is not doing this

The instruction says to power off the phone. But no luck. Tried searching MS community but nothing there (but I won't rule out I didn't search well. 1. I beejive im every work day for at least 2 hours on edge(don't tell my boss) but it suprisingly only comes out to only about 4mbs per day (if i used 3g would the data consumption be higher?)
2. I maybe use slingplayer 1 day a month on 3g (sad) about 10mbs i think
3. I grab email manually by opening up the mail app maybe twice a day max.
Do you think i should switch asap? or is it best recommended to view iphone 4 data usage first in case i upload 720p video (which i doubt they will let you do)

May 2, 2010My PC has Windows 7 64-bit Pro, also has Windows XP Mode (Virtual PC). On Windows 7, I installed Nokia PC Suite 7.1.40.6, coming with Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver 7.1.23.0. When I connect Nokia N95 as USB modem, I can download for a short period about 20 - 40 seconds. Download speed is approx 2.8 - 3 Mbps and 350 kbps for upload. After that data loading seems to be stopped. So I have to disconnect and re-dial again to make it work for another short period. Sometimes, when I changed COM port settings to toggle between use and not use FIFO buffer, it seemed to help prolong the connection a little longer. But finally it will stop anyway.
However on the same PC, in Windows XP Mode, I installed Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver 7.1.22.0, I do not have any connection problem with USB modem (attached to XP). I can download / upload data with no issues. Slower data speed in XP mode (1.5-1.7 Mbps) seems to be normal anyway. It seems to me that the driver may have issue with data flow control and or error correction with Windows 7. I suspect that Nokia cable driver may not be fully compatible with Windows 7 yet. Is there anyone having the same issue with Windows 7?

Jan 5, 2013I've had this problem for a day or so now. I connect my lumia 920 to my PC (Windows 7 ultimate x64) the phone makes a connection sound and it shows up under My Computer. However when I go to browse the files on the 920 it is just empty. Also when I try and use the WindowsPhone app it boots up on the welcome screen as if it's the first time I'm connecting it and does nothing when I press the continue button...
This hasn't always been the case as I was able to browse the files and use the WindowsPhone app for over a week without trouble previously.What I have tried so far:>Restarting my phone.>Reinstalling the WindowsPhone app.>Repairing and reinstalling .NET 4.5 and updating it.>Turning my firewall off>Connecting it to another USB port. >Connecting it to my other computer. >Hard resting my phone. (This left me stuck on the cog wheels for hours and I had to flash my phone to fix this)>And maybe more things that I can't remember at the moment.Interestingly when I had to hard reset it and wipe everything off the phone it worked fine, the app let the phone sync my music etc, I thought it had been fixed. BUT the second time I went to sync my phone the same problem happened! WindowsPhone app thinks its the first time and wont let me press continue and the device is just empty under My Computer.The phone works fine otherwise, all my music and stuff is on it from the first sync and I have 0 problems besides this!

Feb 29, 2012I signed up an account windows live, it allows me to download everything on marketplace. I also downloaded ZUNE set up on my laptop ( OS: Windows 7 ) and create an account on ZUNE. But when I plugged in my phone into laptop, on screen, the ZUNE said "No device is connected". I don't know why.
And I want to tranfer music and pictures from my laptop to phone and vice versa. How can I do that if ZUNE said No device is connected?
