So I have contacts that have two numbers with *31# and without.... But when sending txt message it tries to use this *31# number and text messages don't go anywhere... Currently it vibrates, but plays no ringtonw when I get a call. This is what I want. Howver, when I get a text message it simply shows a toast noification, but no vibration or sound.I have compared every setting I could find to my previous HTC WP7 handset, which does vibrate on SMS.
I have gone in the ringtones Setting screen and turned off the ringer and turned on vibration. How do I make this work? I feel like it must be something staring me in the face that I am not seeing.

User manual downloaded from Nokia (107 pages!) says an attachment to a text message can be saved by touching "..." and then 'save to phone' but "..." and no other options appear when tapping the video or the enclosing text message. That user interface does work for photo images received in a text message but not for videos.

When he rign me up, or if I'm not able to pick up the call I see the missed call from him. It just shows "mobile" (his name is there). Is there a way to identify which was the number he rang me from (is it from 1234 or 6789)? I cannot store this number as other than "mobile" as all other fields are already occupied.

With my previous smartphones, I had the possibility to dial tel. numbers directely from a text message or from the agenda. For my client visits, I alway put the complete address and contact info in the subject of the agenda item. When I have some traffic problems and will be later then forseen, I can contact my client directly from the tel number in that agenda subject, without havng to put in the number again. Also from text messages. Whan someone speeeks a message into my voicemail, I receive a text message from my provider with a short phonenumber to listen to the message directly. I have now an iphone, but it doesn't recognise the number in the agenda or sms as a phone number, and I can't mark them. Is this an option that has to be set on or so? Or is it just not integrated in the OS? Would be handy, I had it in all my other phones, Nokia, HTC,...

However, she has the correct number in her contact list and has also tried to reply to a received text from the friend but gets the same message. I have the same number in my BB Bold 9700 and she is able to send messages successfully from my phone. She has also re-saved the number of her contact but still no luck. This is the only number she has problems with.

My wife and I both have icons. With both of our phones, it seems to take an excessively long time for the phone to identify that it has been plugged in to charge. In some cases, it won't give the notification sound for upwards of a minute. I don't think I've had a single phone that actually did that.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI, like several others are having issues with getting text messages from the cloud onto my new Lumia 950 which I've had for about 4 days now. As of this moment it's still stuck from January 2013 and it hasn't taken this long before so it could be a server side that's been causing the issue. So I tried using the Transfer My Data app to transfer text messages and whenever I pair them it doesn't allow my Lumia 920 to transfer texts only contacts.
Is that because it's using an old Bluetooth that doesn't allow transfer, but I paired it the opposite way and it transferred over my Lumia 950 texts onto my 920... . So I tried using the contacts+message backup app by uploading the text backup using OneDrive and then downloading that onto my Lumia 950 but that wouldn't work either since the restore option was grayed out.
Is there a way to lock a text message so it won't get deleted?

I also have a band 2 (hate how it manages messages), but this problem occurs even when bluetooth and band 2 is off/not connected.
Nothing shows up on glance/lock screen even if I have messaging chosen to show quick status.
I received a text message that says "Media content in this message".
When I select it, it says "Get Media content now (1kb)".
When I select that, it says "Getting media content... (1kb).
But I do not see the media content!
