I've got two Lumia 950's. The first one we bought has sound issues. Both have the echo problem when receiving calls, but one of them also has an issue where incoming phone calls and txt messages produce no sound (no ring/txt message notification sound).
View 18 RepliesI, like several others are having issues with getting text messages from the cloud onto my new Lumia 950 which I've had for about 4 days now. As of this moment it's still stuck from January 2013 and it hasn't taken this long before so it could be a server side that's been causing the issue. So I tried using the Transfer My Data app to transfer text messages and whenever I pair them it doesn't allow my Lumia 920 to transfer texts only contacts.
Is that because it's using an old Bluetooth that doesn't allow transfer, but I paired it the opposite way and it transferred over my Lumia 950 texts onto my 920... . So I tried using the contacts+message backup app by uploading the text backup using OneDrive and then downloading that onto my Lumia 950 but that wouldn't work either since the restore option was grayed out.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have 8.1 on my 1520 and use my Bluetooth headset 97% of the time. I leave it connected all the time and noticed that I do not hear audible incoming text messages, e-mail alerts etc....... The alert sounds come through the Bluetooth headset, so just because I have my Bluetooth connected to my 1520 doesn't mean that I wear my headset all the time, so if I'm not wearing the headset a text message for example will come in and play the alert through the headset but I won't hear it obviously, so I have to check my phone periodically to see if I have text messages or e-mails that have come in.
My wife has even complained that I don't respond to her text messages right away the way I use to when I had my Note 2. On the Note my Bluetooth would be connected just like I do with my 1520, but the sounds/alerts would still be through the phone and audible for me to hear unless I put the phone on silent. Is this an oversight on MS part? Or just something that'll be fixed when the official 8.1 update rolls out???
i'm using a bold 9700 and i cant make or receive calls, i cant send text as well. if i attempt a call it will write call failed immediately. My network is not stable, it comes on and disappears at any slightest chance.

Just wondering where i find the notification for lost calls or incoming messages.i mean : when the phone goes into standby (batterisaving) and screen goes "black" , id like to know if it is possible to have a light blinking that notify my that i have had a missed call or got a text message. as it is now i have to press middle button to check.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have tried every combniation of settings I can think of, but I am not able to get my phone (920, developer version from BUILD) to vibrate when I receive a text message.
Currently it vibrates, but plays no ringtonw when I get a call. This is what I want. Howver, when I get a text message it simply shows a toast noification, but no vibration or sound.I have compared every setting I could find to my previous HTC WP7 handset, which does vibrate on SMS.
I have gone in the ringtones Setting screen and turned off the ringer and turned on vibration. How do I make this work? I feel like it must be something staring me in the face that I am not seeing.
Is there a way to lock a text message so it won't get deleted?

So I have contacts that have two numbers with *31# and without.... But when sending txt message it tries to use this *31# number and text messages don't go anywhere... Is there anyway to change text message number within numbers in contacts... I have noticed that when I have two numbers without this *31# I can choose which number to use... but not with that..

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have to open the messaging app to see if anybody has texted me. I've missed 2 very important time sensitive text messages already that have burned me.
I also have a band 2 (hate how it manages messages), but this problem occurs even when bluetooth and band 2 is off/not connected.
Nothing shows up on glance/lock screen even if I have messaging chosen to show quick status.
I received a text message that says "Media content in this message".
When I select it, it says "Get Media content now (1kb)".
When I select that, it says "Getting media content... (1kb).
But I do not see the media content!
New to the Windows mobile phone... I use my Windows phone for business and do a lot of conference calls. With my iPhone I used to be able to put the phone number with three commas and then the passcode to the conference call in the meeting request (format = 555-555-5555,,,12121212#). By using this format my customers could just click the link in their iPhone and it would auto-dial the conference number along with the passcode so that they did not have to remember the passcode while driving.
Example: 555-555-5555,,,12121212#. (autohyperlink for iOS)
VS
555-555-5555 Passcode 12121212 then press # (caller can hyperlink the phone number but has to remember the passcode and dial it while driving...)
By using this format you could just click the number and it would dial the number pause then auto add the passcode and # to enter the conference call. I think Blackberry used to use a similar format to achieve the same thing.
For some reason the order in which my call log and text message is laid out seems really which and not in chronological order as one might expect. Most recent calls are somewhere in the middle?? Is there a way to control this order int he settings somewhere?

User manual downloaded from Nokia (107 pages!) says an attachment to a text message can be saved by touching "..." and then 'save to phone' but "..." and no other options appear when tapping the video or the enclosing text message. That user interface does work for photo images received in a text message but not for videos.

The latest text I got reads "Get media content now (174KB)" which is underlined as a link. I tap on the words and then get a message "Getting media content (174KB)". It shows that for a minute or two and then goes back to the first message. Is there something in the "settings" that is causing this problem?

The main problem now is the text message app gone missing. The button display as 'Microsoft messaging', when I click on it says need to download an app then direct to store, but then nothing happens.

Even though I have deleted the text message and I've tried everything to try and get it to go away. Today I have a Blackberry Messenger Message that won't delete as well. Does anyone else have this problem and figure out a way to refresh and get ride of it? I've tried turning the device on and off a few times but doesn't fix the issue.

Love my new Lumia 900. One odd issue I can't solve and AT&T can't solve. They referred me to Nokia. When I check a voice mail and delete it, I get a blank text message from 1-(000)-000-0000. I get one for every deleted voice mail. AT&T says there is no setting for this.
