email synchronization after the Tango update? My Lumia 800 periodically ceases to synchronize email accounts and requires a phone restart before it will pick up email changes. This seems to happen on a 5-7 day cycle. Is this a known bug or just a peculiarity of my phone? Prior to the recent update?
I'm just setting up my new 9700 and have come across a couple issues.I somehow set up an email address to have the contacts on my Blackberry 9700 to synchronize with. What's the purpose of this? How do I go about removing this option?I just went on my Desktop Manager and I can't access my Address Book now as it's greyed out because of this wireless synchronization. It somehow has given me duplicate contacts and I wanted to correct this.
I'm the proud owner of a Bold delivered today, (software V126.96.36.1995) running on the Vodafone network in the UK.I've set up my Yahoo email on the BB and under Email Reconciliation have selected "Delete on Mailbox and Handsets." My BB is receiving the Yahoo mails but if I delete an email on the BB it still appears in my Yahoo email inbox. Is there full synchronization between BB and Yahoo mail or have I made an error in the set-up? If Yahoo cannot synchronize will using Googlemail enable me to synchronize emails?
I have to setup a new office. We will be using Microsoft Outlook with Blackberry and no Exchange Server. What are my options for synchronizing Outlook email/contacts/calendars with the Blackberry? Is the Desktop Manager the only option?I'd like to do synchronizatoin remotely. Is that possible or are USB abd Bluetooth the only options?
I have four email accounts on my Lumia 900. Two of them, which are Yahoo! accounts, are acting up. All of a sudden, periodically, the email client will ask for the passwords for both accounts (whereas the other two accounts-a work email account and a gmail account) are auto-retrieving emails just fine. What could have made my Yahoo! accounts act this way where it is asking for my password? The passwords are saved in the settings. Could it be my smpt and pop setting address?
I upgraded from an N8 to the Lumia 920.I weekly receive work emails which have attached to them either xls, doc or PDF files which I was able to open directly with my N8 with Quick office or Adobe PDF reader. Not only that, I could download and store the said documents straight to my phone and open with the Microsoft apps too.On the Lumia I'm unable to do either, even though this has Office 365.I'm unable to open any attachment straight from email with it's inbuilt office suite.I do own Office 2010 on my PC, but what do I need to do to integrate with Office 365?When I added my email address it just duplicated the account and still didn't open attachments?
I had the Focus prior to this using Office 365 for our corporate mail. When I got the new phone for some reason deleting mail on Office 365 locks the phone for probably 5-10 seconds per mail item. This probably happens 8/10 times, and then the other 2/10 times it goes lightning fast like it did on the Focus. I thought it was a connection issue but I tried enabling and disabling the Wi-Fi so it forces it to go off 4G LTE, and it also the reverse so it goes off Wi-Fi, but for some reason it still does the same thing.
I can delete like 5 emails hanging on each of them, then on the 6th for some reason, runs really fast, then 7th-9 slow and then 10 is fast all in rapid succession.
Is there a way to customize the layout of the email display on the 920? In the current view I get the sender, subject and part of the first line of the message. In total, this view only provides a maximum of 5 emails visible, before having to scroll. In Settings/ease of access has the font size set to the smallest.
I currently have an iphone 4 and i'm using a 1and1 exchange hosting email account and they use forced password security policy.I.e. when you put the exchange account onto the phone it forces you to password the phone. Can anyone tell me if they have a) used hosted exchange email accounts on the Nokia Lumia 800 and everything works as expected i.e. email, calendar and contacts all sync up ok and If there is any problems with forced password security policys?
I am brand new to the Nokia 710 and I have my AOL email account linked up to the phone. I am able to send and recieve emails just fine.My problem is that when I try to open/download any attachments like a Word or PDF document that are in the emails, they never open. They start to open but never do. I can open these attachements on my old Palm Pixi rather quickly and without any trouble so I know it is not the files that are the problem.
I've searched both this USA forum and the UK one and didn't see anyone else with the same issue... so did I not set up something properly with the phone?
Is it possible to close the keyboard from the screen while writing an email? This should be a option since it is quite hard to check the finished mail when almost all of the screen is full of keyboard. It would be much easier to write emails with this option.
I need to set my outgoing work email (SMTP) server port number to 587 and connection security to TLS. However, I can't see an option to set either the port number nor the security to TLS. SSL security can be turned on/off, but no mention of TLS.
I have read elsewhere that setting the server name as <server name> : <port number> can be used (that is, using a colon to separate the server name from the port number), but still this does not allow for selecting TLS security.
My incoming email, IMAP, works fine, so my connection/username/password etc. should all be fine.
I receive all my work voicemails through my exchange email account as a wav file attachment.I have always been able to open and play these with my previous phones but they won't play on the 920, it says "sorry, we can't play this file on your phone".
I have two email accounts set up on my 920. When I press the tile for either of these or for text messaging the screen flips like it is about to launch and then goes back to the home screen. Email and text are obviously fairly important.
There seem to be no functionality to schedule the e-mail sync to be turned off at night, like you could with the old Symbian phones, for example between 23:00 and 7:00, or in weekends.
On the Lumia, you have to turn it off manually every night, alternatively turn off the sound every night. An effect of this is that the phone consumes so much battery at night that the alarm clock in the morning seldom works, as the battery is empty.
Periodically I find my outgong emails (via Outlook) being dumped in the Drafts folder when I send them. Some time later (might be a few seconds, sometimes longer) I find a message in the in-box which says something like 'Windows Phone is unable to send your mail'. I assume this happens in poor signal conditions altough it does happen when the phone appears to be reporting a strong signal. Once in the drafts folder, I don't seem to be able to send the mail message from there - I have to move it before I can send it.
I can't find any documentation of theis behaviour so I don't know if it's supposed to do this; the circumstances under which it happens; and whether I can configure it to do something else
This is irritating on so many levels. Why doesn't the phone just leave the message in the outbox until it has connectiviity? If it's not going to send the message, why not tell me then? As it is, I often miss the failure message so I don't realise the message has not been sent until a long time after. And why can't I simply click on the message in draft and select 'send' from there?
I'm using Lumia 710. One problem that I'm facing is that whenever I download any mp3 files either from any music apps or email, I can't find the same in the Music. How do I get these files in my music? When I download images, docs etc from email/apps, I usually get option : 'save to phone', but the same option is not available for Music files.
In Internet Explorer, I tried to attach and send a file from my Lumia 800. But, after clicking the browse button for attaching file, there is no response. Is this the case with all or this could be resolved?
I have been trying to access Yahoo email thru the Browser on the Lumia 800 phone. Every time I access the [URL] website and enter my login name and password and submit, I repeatedly get the same page again and again which asks me to verify my password. There seems to be a software error in the Lumia 800. I have contacted the Nokia helpline which was unhelpful as usual. This time, they informed me that this error IS possible while accessing Yahoo email thru the browser and that no solution is possible. The only suggestion they had was to use the synchronization method to access the Yahoo mailbox - but this solution is not feasible for either accessing the older emails and or for sending file attachments.
I'm probably the author of my own misfortune here, but I loaded a GPX file with about 4000 waypoints onto my 5230 a few days ago. I got fed up after a while as it made ovimaps run like a complete dog, so I used the "location" app to select all and delete. However, it seems in the meanwhile that it had synchronized all of the landmarks to my ovi.com account. After I did this I noticed I was getting "Download error" every time I opened ovimaps, and I realized that it must be having some problems with synchronizing the phone with ovi.com (its set to do this on startup and closedown).
I viewed the maps there today and could see them, and then spent about 30 minutes deleting each of them manually. Online there are now no landmarks, and there are none on my phone either. However, I cannot now seem to sync ovi.com with my phone (using the menu option under "favorites" in ovimaps 3.04 on the phone).Message I get is "Synchronization incomplete” Is there any way to re-initialize the synchronization? I've tried removing the account from the phone but that didn't seem to work.
There's no way to sync my mobile and my laptop. The only connection method available is bluetooth. Is it there a cable instead? Just tried it all. Upgrade to the latest, downgrade to previous version, Changed the options within my phone, the PC Sync, and nothing at all. I have 236 contacts. The phone syncs perfectly the agenda and the notes. But, when the contacts part begins, it halts in 22 over 236. The screen turns off, like if it were restarting, and after a few seconds it returns. Nothing else. I'm using Outlook 2007 as source of contacts. Windows XP, Dell Latitude BT integrated and the 2630. Should I drop this mobile or get a better one?Switched to this from a N80IE. I know, I know, Ferrari to a Tata Nano...but I wanted a small, not too attractive phone.
I have some issues when trying to synchronize Mail for Exchange (either 1.6.1 or 2.0) on my N95.When I try to connect, the phone responds with 'System error. Please try again later'. When I check in the admin_log1.txt, I find the log below.
As far as I understand the log, my company is demanding a higher level of security in the policy then my phone supports. But is there a way to solve this?First of all, can Nokia improve the policy support on my phone? Second question: can I trick the phone to think that the policy is already in place?
I am using Nokia Messaging on my E63, but it stopped synchronizing server. I can send mail and it posts but I am not able to recive mails.I have checked the password and other things , all those are correct.
