My Nokia phone died. I have a backup stored in Nokia PC Suite, but i can't view it - when i try to open it, the application says that no phone is connected and doesn't display the contents of the backup.
How do i view my backup (in particular the phonebook) without connecting to the phone?
My N95 8GB reboots at the final stage of backup during settings. I have reset to factory settings but no change. My PC uses Windows 7 and I have latest software on my phone and PC. I would appreciate help please.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy new E72 devolped an interesting problem:When i open the phonebook and start typing to look up a contact, a lot of contacts do not show up in the resukts. The same happens when i start typing on the home screen, however in messaging the lookup works. Example: want to call "Anna B." I type search for "Anna" in my phonebook, "Anna K." shows up, but "Anna B." and some other contacts containing "Anna" don't.search also does not work for the last name (for completeness).Interestingly, the affected numbers also don't show up on my car kit when the phone can't find them.I can, however just scroll through the contacts ( on the phone, not on the car kit) and, bang!, the missing contacts are actually there. so just search and car kit sync are affected.The problem can sometimes be solved by resterting the phone, sometimes not. In OVI Suite all (~280) Contacts show up and can be found.I have yet to determine wether the affected contacts are always the same, but it seems that way. They are a mixture of old/new with/without picture/email etc. so nothing obvious in common.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a factory-unlocked 32gb S6 (g920i) and spent the past few weeks setting up my applications, launcher, etc. For reasons that are not pertinent to my question, I've decided to return the S6 and replace it with a 32gb S6Edge (g925i).
Is there a way I can COMPLETELY clone all the apps, data, and settings between the two phones? I understand that the phones are close to identical but I suspect it is not safe to restore an S6 backup onto an S6Edge. Am I right about that? Assuming this is the case how can I preserve all my settings?
When I bought the S6 I migrated from a Moto X and it did a good job of installing my apps but none of the app-specific data or settings got transferred. Will SmartSwitch do this or do I need something like Helium?

I have bought a new 5800 XM recently instead of my old 7610. I tried hard I think but unable to find a way to transfer my text messages from my 7610 to 5800 XM. How come I can manage this or is not there a way to achieve this issue.
* I own the final version of Nokia PC Suite and Ovi Suite by today. they even cannot install the Nokia PC Suite Support software into my old 7610.

To recover my notes written in my NOKIA N97 as I've loist them cuz I had to hard reset my mobile due to Start up failed contact retailer error was originated and it hanged my phone and I was unable to create backup of notes and after hard reset all of those precious notes i.e my articles for journals ,poetry and scripts etcs were deleted So please help me ! and tell me the way to recover phone memory or even only those notes ! Data recovery software are deigned for PC's so when phone is connected to PC software detects the MASS storage but not the phone memory's.
So, I just bought a JB'en iphone 3g tonight.Went ahead and unlocked it using ultrasn0w.Connected it to my mac/itunes, and it asks "an iphone has been previously synced with this computer. setup as a new iphone -or- restore the backup of ***"So, since I had purchased apps using my *** phone (actually was an ipod touch that i got rid of), I'm thinking that I should restore the backup so that I can get my paid apps back for free.
Questions:
-will restoring this backup to the new unlocked phone restore it to its original locked state (i.e. will i have to re-jailbreak/unlock)? or will it simply restore preferences, etc...?
-otherwise, if i call this phone a new name, is there a way to transfer my purchased apps to the new phone's account?
I have a nokia 5800 xm i brought it from ebay brand new but just lately when i go to my pictures folder and view the thumbs of my pictures the phone freezes and i have to switch it of and back on which takes about 20sec before it will switch off.
