I want to buy an iPhone 4 tomorrow from a store near where I live (it's not an authorized dealer the iPhone costs $1000 there). Although there is an authorized dealer nearby, the iPhone from there would cost $400 more. However, I am really willing to buy a factory-unlocked iPhone 4 instead of a software-unlocked one, and I am going to check out the unauthorized dealer tomorrow. I am afraid that the salesman would trick me into buying a software-unlocked one without my knowledge. The reason for which I want a factory-unlocked iPhone is so that I wouldn't have to jailbreak it each time I update it and risk getting it locked by mistake in case that there is no available software yet to unlock it. Therefore, I would like to know what are some features that would help me identify a factory-unlocked from a software-unlocked iPhone.For example, what is the default iPhone software that Apple releases with all iPhone 4's (if there is a default software version)? Would the Cydia icon be visible on a software-unlocked iPhone (I'm afraid that it would be hidden in some way)? Also, I would PLEASE like to know some more ways to identify the factory-unlocked from the software-unlocked iPhone without having to restore it.

I would like to identify it as it making same unwanted connection which are cost for my. For now I have walk around and enforce my phone to ask for password before each connection but it make using Nokia 5800 a little bit annoying. What is more I have checked task manger and I have no application there so it may be or MFC either some other nokia native application (but it is my supposed only).

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am trying to sell my iPhone 2G 3.1.3 and I did all the restore/jailbreak/unlocked on the same using redsn0w.I insert my sim (AT&T) in it, Sim gets identified immediately and works flawlessly. But when I insert other Sim (AT&T) of one of my buyer, it did not identify the sim kept saying "No Sim" on the left and "No SIM card installed" on the lock screen.This other Sim (AT&T) works flawlessly on other phones, including the iPhone 3gs and an old Nokia 6085, so the Sim doesn't really seem to have any issues.Feels like my iPhone 2g has been "Married" to my AT&T Sim and is not ready to divorce it.I spent many hours, doing all the "Settings Resets", restored/rejailbreaked/unlocked many times but situation remains the same.How do I fix this problem so that I could sell my 2g to someone? This is probably a dumb question but here it goes, everything I had on my Tour isn't on the battery right? My replacement doesn't have a battery so I have to use the battery from my Tour. When I use the Tour battery on my Bold, it'll just act as a battery and just give life to the Bold right?

So, I just bought a JB'en iphone 3g tonight.Went ahead and unlocked it using ultrasn0w.Connected it to my mac/itunes, and it asks "an iphone has been previously synced with this computer. setup as a new iphone -or- restore the backup of ***"So, since I had purchased apps using my *** phone (actually was an ipod touch that i got rid of), I'm thinking that I should restore the backup so that I can get my paid apps back for free.
Questions:
-will restoring this backup to the new unlocked phone restore it to its original locked state (i.e. will i have to re-jailbreak/unlock)? or will it simply restore preferences, etc...?
-otherwise, if i call this phone a new name, is there a way to transfer my purchased apps to the new phone's account?
I now want to reset my phone to its original state, I want it to be like it was when I got it out the box.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAbout two weeks ago the phone died when the battery ran flat and when I tried to charge it with the original charger it wouldn't charge, so I connected it to the pc and after several hours it started charging again. The only problem is that it only charges at a very slow rate now, both via pc and via wall charger(Original 1.8A and even a 2.4A one), by slow rate I mean it takes around 30 hours to charge from 0 to 100%.
Having said that, the phone only seems to charge when it is first switched off. When I plug the phone to charger it does not detect it unless i first switch it off and only then it detects it and start charging. If i switch it back on when the charger is attached it still shows me that is charging but if I receive a message or two the battery starts draining all the same. I tried to change chargers/chords and i also did a factory reset and it didn't work.
I now bought a new battery and it still didn't solve the problem. What I am suspecting is that the phone is stuck in slow charging mode that prevents fast charging when the battery is completely flat. Also if I try connecting the phone to the pc via usb, although it charges(after switching it off), the pc does not detect it.
My question is if phone.apk can be replaced by the original phone.apk like seen in google play editions (nexus 5)
I dont like the samsung phone icon so I want my phone to be as stock android as possible.
My xperia z2 isn't charging either by the original charger or by computer usb, a message keeps showing that the battery is discharging faster than it charges, what to do ?

Bt while collecting I hd noticed that my display was cracked n scratches all arnd, I askd those ppl bt they were nt ready to accept instead blamed me that im lying n all, finally I convinced them as they didnt mentioned any cracks in display in there job sheet, also they fixed all minor issues under warranty which proves my mob display wasnt cracked while submitting...atlast they agreed to repair the display on there cost.

I just opened it, and first thing I did was plug it into the wall. Now, I have installed the update service, tells me phone is up to date (downloaded straight from sonyericsson.com). I have installed Phone suite 6.01; tried a repair phone, aborts with an error when it comes to the update service (right after the remove batery, press C while connecting phone part). Also same thing with car charger.
Is it possible to download the N96 original software because my music player and image viewer seems to have disappeared from my phone. I've tried to hard reset but no luck?
View 5 Replies View RelatedOK, during the testing of both Nokia PC Suite/Ovi Suite I got prompted to accept the installation of several applications on my E63 (via Bluetooth)now is there anyway for me to uninstall everything and revert everything back to "original", just like the day when I bought it?
1) Would a factory reset do it? (I'm guessing factory defaults would only reset settings and not removing applications, right?)
2) Would doing a firmware update do it? there is nothing to backup on my phone, so this is not a problem.
3) I know there is a SIM card/Phone memory and I also have a 8GB SDHC and all three can store data. how do you determine which go to which?
I've come to dread restarting my phone (after deleting an app, to free up space). Every time I pull the battery, it's like playing russian roulette with my phone. When it restarts, it goes back to that original wallpaper that my bb bold2 had, and then the trackpad won't work. Even if I click down once to activate the trackpad, nothing moves on my screen. It almost always ends with me having to do a second battery pull, which is really nerve-wracking. It's like there's some sort of SEVERE lag going on. And if it does begin to work after a battery pull, it takes like 6 minutes to begin working.
