Nokia :: E72 - Homescreen Modifications - Several Options Clickable From Main Screen Via Scrolling Option
Jul 31, 2010
Is there any way the E72 can be used to have a home screen like the Nokia 6500 whereby there are several options clickable from the main screen via a scrolling option. Where we have the 6 set programs, the 6500 has a really handy scrollable list - there are too many useful programs for the six options to be sufficient.
I hope someone can help me with a 6700 Slide issue. How do you turn off the 'Share Your Photos' option on the main screen? I've spent hours looking through all the menus but can't seem to find out how to do it.I've managed to turn off all the other icons/menus on the main screen so I can see the Wallpaper image clearly. This is the last item I need to remove.
I organized my screen for hours on my BB8330, created some sub folders and put all icons in order. And, I lost my "Options" and "Compose" icons, which is like the most important ones! I read all suggestions here. It is not hidden, it is not in another folder, it just gone. Now when I change the Theme, I do see it, but all my work is gone, and I like my current Theme of Sprint. Any idea how to restore my lost icons on my current Theme? Look like a BB common problem.
I did a software update via Nokia Suite as it said it had some new themes. While this was installing my N8 ran out of memory and the installation failed. When I checked my N8 the homescreen widgets and shortcuts had disappeared.
I have tried to re- add them but they do not appear on any of the homescreens.
When changing the options on your home screen I know that you can move the icons with the Zen mode. When you put the Today mode on (which I really like) is there a way to change or re-arrange those? I have looked but can not find where in the phone. I am glad there is an edit button, I forgot to add that I am using a Blackberry 8530 Curve from U.S. Cellular.
I am looking for an alternative to the standard Motoblur homescreen/launcher. I have tried ADW Launcher and Launcher Pro, and am looking for some other options. I am mainly looking to add more then seven homescreens, either keep the standard motoblur look or switch to something that looks like stock Froyo/Gingerbread, have a 3D app drawrer, and keep my current homescreens (widgets, shortcuts, etc) in place, as both ADW and Launcher Pro have forced me to start from scratch. I would like something free (or at least with a free trial or free version) and I am not a root user.
I bought an xperia mini last november and now, the back and menu keys interchange their functions.also, when im texting, the menu options keep on popping out that hinders me to txt. :<its been almost 2 months since i bought my phone and now wtf?!=.=I WENT TO THE WHERE I BOUGHT MY PHONE BUT THEY'RE PERMANENTLY CLOSED.!!HOW AM I GOING TO USE MY WARRANTY WITHOUT THE DEALER'S SIGNATURE??
I took the plunge with my first Blackberry (Curve 8530) last month. I'm curious as to why there's no option to have the map automatically scroll while driving? I'm currently using a combination of Blackberry Maps and Google Maps. I can get directions or view the route on the map, but some form of a turn-by-turn feature would be nice (kind of expected to be honest). Am I missing something? I know there are other options re: GPS software for the Blackberry but I've either found those options to be somewhat buggy/non-intuitive OR they are fee-based (TeleNav, Garmin, etc). If I'm going to pay $, I can easily score a dedicated in-car GPS device for <$70.
My dad has a Nokia 5800 and gets text messages usually with numbers in, but they aren't phone numbers but Symbian just thinks they are so the are red underlined and clickable (so you can easily dial that number). Now my question is: how do you disable this? The numbers are a bit harder to read when they are red underlined and the click feature is totally useless in this situation.I recall seeing this option on my E71 but I don't remember where.
After upgrading to v40, I've compared the new homescreen to the old homescreen and to the old homescreen with v21-31, these are my findings.
- The old homescreen on v40 does not have the email notification that Nokia introduced a short while ago and which was obviously VERY well recieved globally.
- The new homescreen on v40 has kinetic scrolling contacts which is, um, cute. It has the ability to control the music player (What I found to be very buggy, crashing it by simply pressing 'forward' when it's playing a folder with 1 song).
- The new homescreen on v40 does not have calendar and tasks, probably for the space the new music player-thing takes. This was my FAVORITE thing on the homescreen and I am sure I'm not alone.
I truly hope Nokia addresses these issues by either returning the email notifications to the old homescreen or somehow allowing to see the calendar and tasks on the new homescreen. Or both.

I set the homescreen on my S2 but every time I press the square button the option returns and I cant find a way of deactivating it. I kill the app but this does not resolve the issue and neither does wiping the phone and starting again.
I have Nokia E52. During a call I cannot see main screen icons i.e. the screen displays "calling number" in the bottom and upper area is white due to which I cannot open contacts or use any other application shortcuts. Kindly guide me how to make use of these applications when needed during a call.
1. No email list on the main screen. In the settings, I have the following options (all names translated from the Polish interface, so original English names can be different) - "Email notification 1", "Email notification 2" and "Nokia Messaging email". The first two seem to refer to the default email program (not Messaging) - I cannot set any mailboxes for them ("There is no mailbox" error). "Nokia Messaging email" shows the "Set up e-mail" link on the main screen. With previous firmware and messaging I had another option "Nokia Intellisync" which triggered email list on the main screen. No such option anymore.
2. Email notifications are "on" in Messaging but when emails arrive there is only a sound. No icon (@) anywhere, no blinking.
I just purchased a Nokia 5800 and I happened to notice that when i receive a text message, it does not show the name of the sender in the main screen. I have seen other Nokia phones and I am sure the phone must display the sender's name or number in the home screen as soon as the message arrives, but mine just says 1 New Message instead of 1 New Message from xyz. Are there any settings I need to change or is it this way itself in 5800?
My camera seemed to stop working, both from the app launch and the camera button launch. It used to work before, and this problem has appeared only now.It flashes the camera interface, then comes back to main screen.
Is there a way to change the links/options shown under home screen ? For instance on my E72 I get following options: @Set Up e-mail <Mailbox1> <Mailbox2> ,Calendar Events WLAN scanning off Search I want to now change @Set up e-mail option with something else of my choice . Is that possible?
I have a Samsung Memoir T929, which I finally got carrier subsidy unlocked recently. I do use it on T-Mobile, though. Anyway, I have done some searching and I know there is quite a bit of information out there, but it is hard for me to determine what is the best applications or modifications. Can anybody suggest the best applications or modifications for this? If there are other website that I ought to be reviewing, I do not have the full data plan, but rather just T-Zones (Web2Go?).
I just got my E72. Replaced the memory card with a bigger one, then did an update...Now, I lost my shortcuts on the main screen.Bad news is that the old memory card is formatted, so I cant just reinstall by using that. I also tried a soft reset, which gave me the message: "Close all active connections" without any connections being active.
I have a N95 that has a weird screen issue. I've spent just over a week looking for an answer, searching Google and forums. The screen is very dull on the main menu, to the extent that to see any data on it you need to be in a very dark room. The screen saver however is just as bright as it has always been, brighter in fact.
I've turned the screen brightness up to full but this made no difference. It is almost as if the back light has been turned off.Does anyone know how to turn the back light on or even any resolution of this so I can use the phone during the day.
tell me if I can have the telephone area code visible on the main screen on a Nokia Asha 300.Previous Nokia's I have owned have allowed me to do this but I can't seem to find If I can or how to do it on this one.
A few weeks ago, I had an issue where i wasn't getting sms alerts. I put it down to a one off or me just missing them. However, I'ts happened again. My inbox had 3 messages, that I'd not heard a beep for, I had no little envelope icon and no "New Message" alert on the main screen.
As a test, we sent a message to my phone, the message hit the inbox, but there were no notificataions. I changed the profile and sent another text.. same again, no notifications.I rebooted the phone and sent another message.. this time everything worked OK.I'm using a standard message tone as the tone alert..
I have a nexus 5 running on android 6.0.1.I was trying to root it when I found that the 'Enable oem unlock' option present in the developer options is missing on my device. The nexus root toolkitv2.1.0 also failed to detect my device.
