Nokia :: E71 SIP Registration Failed
Feb 4, 2010
I am trying to get my phone to connect up to SIP but I keep getting error messages. I can use the same connections I am feeding it within fring without any issue, but it just won't allow me to connect using the built-in SIP client.
Can anyone offer some words of wisdom as to what might be going on? I did upgrade my firmware to some 400.x version which, may or may not have killed the deal.
I've spoken with two of my SIP providers and both of them are stumped. There are a billion reports of Nokia users having this issue. I called technical support at Nokia but they were no help at all. I think there are some language barriers that just aren't clicking.
Everything else on the phone seems just fine. Just can't connect using SIP. I would just bite the bullet and use fring for my VoIP calls but I really like how the SIP client is integrated right into the OS of the phone.

Just bought a X2-02 Dual SIM, and have a problem:One specific SIM fails to register to the Network. This is a Swiss Orange SIMIt is recognized, I'm asked for the password, but it cannot find a network, and after a couple of minutes I get the message "sim card registration failed"This SIM works with every other phone, Dual Sim or not.I have this problem regardless from the order of the SIMs.This SIM is the only one I had this problem with, so far, in this phone.it is also the only foreign one (thus looking for an alternate network) I tried so far. The Other SIM is a Portuguese Vodafone one. It works with all the other combinations I tried:With TMN PT, or other Vodafone PT, regardless of the order of the SIMs.

I woke up this morning, my phone was fine, I surfed the itnernet, checked my messages etc. I then got the bus to work, during the journey the connection dropped (this sometimes happens but it always comes back after 30 secs or so) after a while the phone said "sim card registration failed".I restarted the phone, no luck.I took the phone apart, removed the sim, put everything back, no luck.I put the sim in another phone, that worked.I put a different sim in my own phone, no luck.I reset the phone to factory settings then put in the sim, no luck.I restored the phone, no luck.

I know that this problem has been written all over the internet but seriously... no solution? The E71 works perfectly with other sim cards and no, it's not blacklisted. The sim card I want to use works perfectly on other cell phones like my Sony Ericsson (which I don't want to use). My E71 is not sim-locked and I do not know where to go than here! A weird thing is that the E71 can not find the operator I want to use either and the operator's net is really good on other phones.

I make a Diagnostic Test and I check with my provider and they said that all my profile is OK. I delete the service book and they resend it to me but nothing.

I have a Nokia E72 with software version 071.004. I have some problems with it when I receive SMS messages from anyone. The following situations might happen: The SMS messages arrive delayed with more than one hour or never arrive. The phone shows a "SIM card registration failed" error message and disconnects from the network immediately after the other person sends me the SMS message. In this case I have to switch it off and on again in order for it to reconnect to the GSM network.
This is very bad because most of the times I get disconnected from the network and see it hours later. These problems appeared since the very first releases of the firmware that were running on the phone. I am sure this is not a network problem because I've put my SIM card in another phone and the messages arrive instantly. I am also sure this is not a SIM card problem because I've just renewed my SIM card and the problem is still there. So by eliminating these possible causes I can only suspect the phone!

I have a nokia E5 phone which I use as just a Mail for Exchange Checker/ Bicycle GPS/Internet and general all around disposable phone. For a $40 phone it is just fantastic! It does so much for so little. I just wish nokia made their phones more apps friendly. My E5 does not have a mobile carrier phone plan since I have another phone that does that. This E5 is set up as a rough duty phone for the phone features such as sports tracker.
For the phone to work with WIFI with Mail for Exchange's auto email retreival, (since I don't have data since my phone has no service) I had to get an old expired sim card from another phone. (won't auto retreive with phone in offline mode)But the phone always displays "Sim card registration failed" and I have to click out of it constantly. Is there a way to remove that notification? I already know that it failed. It's an expired card just to get the phone to work in General mode.

Here is the poblem I have since yesterday. If I put my friend's Sim Card in my N900, everything works fine. If I put my own Sim Card into my friend's phone, everything also works fine. If I put my own sim card into my N900, and try to make call immediate after the screen boots up (icons are slow then, still loading), then it also works fine.
However if my N900 properly boots up, then I cannot make calls at all. Setting it to offline mode then normal mode will not register with my network and result in Sim Card registration error if I wait long enough. So it seems like my N900 won't take my Sim Card after booting. it will take it during booting, but some process killed it. Can someone help me solve this? I do not remember installing anything since last time it worked.

I have just received two new iPhone 4s. I ordered a white for me and black for my wife. But she wanted the white one so we swapped and have since restored all her data to the white on and mine to the black. All is well except when I go to buy an app it brings up my wife's apple ID and asks for her password instead of mine. I assume this is because the carrier registered the serials to our names, or am I being daft here? Basically m iPhone has all my details except when I go to buy an app it things I'm my wife. How do I swap this over?

Since I installed 6.0 last weekend, I have been receiving ~ 6 "Your device has been registered with the wireless network" messages every day.I work in a building that has spotty reception and these messages only appear on work days - when I evidently lose and regain network connectivity.I never received these messages with the previous OS (5-something, whatever was installed on my Bold 9650 as received from Verizon a few months ago).Does anyone know why I am now receiving these messages? I also lose my login information for Facebook each time I lose connectivity. This never happened prior to installing 6.0 either.Sometimes when I select the FB icon, a little spinning clock icon appears and I have to pull the battery to un-freeze the phone. Also - though this happened with 6.0 as well as the previous OS - I get all these crazy notifications/ texts informing me that I have a voicemail, etc. when the voicemail icon already clearly indicates that I have a voicemail!

I just bought a brand new iPhone 4S. While I was registering it in iTunes I accidentally pressed submit while filling out my address so it's wrong. It's got my correct street address but the wrong city and state. (I'm an idiot). How can I go back and fix this without having to restore my phone as new and lose all my contacts?

I have recently installed the latest update on my torch, and when the process has been completed I can't access any of my email accounts or several other apps i.e. fb, twitter, rss feeds, etc.I have looked through the forums and followed the steps of registering through the mobile site, but none of these methods have worked, as an error message always appears.I have also found whilst running the diagnostic that the 'blackberry registration' field is 'no'. I have tried to register the devise using the host routing table method, but this isn't giving me any results!

The Motorola Charm shows up, but the Defy XT does not even though it says registration successful, even the IMEI verification stated 'In Warranty'.
I purchased the phone on the 2nd of October this year, whereas the Charm is over a year old.

I took out a contract with Virgin Mobile yesterday for a Blackberry Curve 8520. I chose Virgin as I have had a pay as you go mobile with them for years and wanted to keep my number with a minimum of fuss.
Have to say it has been one of the worst 'out of the box experiences' I've had with any technology recently.
Whilst Virgin's systems say the phone is registered, the Blackberry site say it is not and having held on to Virgin's customer support line for ten minutes or so listening to the Scissor Sisters (aaarghhh!!) I was told that I would need to speak to a Blackberry specialist who would call back with 72 HOURS!?
I've Googled this problem and it shows up on a number of non-Blackberry / Virgin forums. If anyone can put me in touch with someone who can get me up and running I would be grateful. Putting a phone out of action for 72 hours (not sure how the weekend will affect this) is not on.
