I have recently purchased a Nokia 5800 XpressMusic phone pre-owned from a local market and when I turn it on I get "SIM Card Registration Failed" and when I try to make a phone call I get "Connection error". I have checked the IMEI using url... and it is not shown as stolen.

Nokia 5130 XpressMusic doesn't turn on and it says "contact service" (in red font) when i attempt to turn it on. It was working minuet then all of a sudden it just went off.

I heard this sort of thing is normally solved by a firmware reflashing. But I need my contacts and calendar.
About 5 years ago I got 2 "free" Nokia 6102i phones with their chargers. Yes, I know, time to update, but I can't afford to. So, one of the chargers has failed. The other works, which is why I know it's the charger, not the phone. Is it possible to buy another one? I doubt it's reparable but maybe--- it wasn't damaged in any way, just stopped charging.
BTW, if I do someday update to another phone- Nokia or otherwise, I presume I'd lose all the info on the phone- and I'd have to start all over again with phone numbers, etc.?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get my phone to connect up to SIP but I keep getting error messages. I can use the same connections I am feeding it within fring without any issue, but it just won't allow me to connect using the built-in SIP client.
Can anyone offer some words of wisdom as to what might be going on? I did upgrade my firmware to some 400.x version which, may or may not have killed the deal.
I've spoken with two of my SIP providers and both of them are stumped. There are a billion reports of Nokia users having this issue. I called technical support at Nokia but they were no help at all. I think there are some language barriers that just aren't clicking.
Everything else on the phone seems just fine. Just can't connect using SIP. I would just bite the bullet and use fring for my VoIP calls but I really like how the SIP client is integrated right into the OS of the phone.

I know that this problem has been written all over the internet but seriously... no solution? The E71 works perfectly with other sim cards and no, it's not blacklisted. The sim card I want to use works perfectly on other cell phones like my Sony Ericsson (which I don't want to use). My E71 is not sim-locked and I do not know where to go than here! A weird thing is that the E71 can not find the operator I want to use either and the operator's net is really good on other phones.

I want a phone that is good for music but I also want a good texting that offers wifi(i know the 5230 doesnt offer this but to my knowledge you can use the 10 dollar a month tmobile data plan which is ok with me). Also to any one who has the e63 how much of a nuisance is it that the e63 doesn't have a volume rocker, seems like this is a pretty basic feature i couldn't imagine not having one. Also I am only considering candybar style phones because i always seem to break phones with moving parts.
