Mar 28, 2010I'm yet to have this phone delivered but I'm looking forward to it. I was thrille dto hear that Nokia do updates which can also enhance this phone's cameras which is really cool. My question is if Nokia could make an update that gives the phone Face Detection, Smile Detection, and all those other modern camera features? It seems unlikely to me but I was just wondering if they could do this, and if they, can they do it soon.

Jan 22, 2010At present I am in Japan and using a nokia e61. The operator (Swisscom) is providing the roaming to this country (UMTS voice), the 3G coverage is good and similar devices with the same contract are working fine. In the UMTS mode, no connection is established in the automatic mode.
When switched to the manual search mode, the device detects the local 3G operators ( DoCoMo, SoftBank). Forced to connect to the network, the device tries for a couple of minutes and returns the "no access" message. I have the impression of a reduced device sensitivity.
The SIM card has been replaced recently and the firmware is up to date. In the GSM mode the device works perfectly.

Jun 23, 2011My Nokia N8 does not seem to be able to do DTMF. This means no listening to voicemail, no using of call centers which asks to enter numeric options, no joining telephone conferecences with a pin and no remote activation of DTMF based server settings.
it can be done and all I need to do during a call is to select "Options -> Send DTMF -> Enter Manually -> * -> Y", because that is stupid. Entering 5 commands to select a single digit is rediculous. It is like saying that I can sail from Johannesburg to Cape Town because all I need is to dig a canal and then build a ship from matches. This much effort is as good as not having it and is entirely impractical during a call with various options i.e. voicemail or call center options.

Mar 2, 2010I have a 5230 (v10.0.071) and I'm trying to connect it to my PC.I've used the most recent versions of software updater, PC Suite and the Ovi software from this site but my phone remains "undetected". Windows 7 detects the device but fails to install it, which isn't something that surprises me.

Apr 13, 2010A couple of days ago I had to a hard reset (all 3 stages) and since then the PC won't recognise my 5800 as a phone (in media transfer mode)..........BUT it now recognises the memory card as a proper computer drive (drive D, a second HDD which is now corrupted) if put into 'mass storage' mode!! It now appears on the Windows device driver as a 'portable device' and not under 'USB connections' as before.I've done a System restore on the PC to back before the phone reset with no success.And the phone behaves perfectly in all respects.The problem with the 5800 not being detected as a phone is that the C drive does not appear and so is not accessible.

Aug 30, 2012Does anyone know if there is a way of transferring the settings between 2 6230i's via Bluetooth or IR? My grandpa's 6230I broke so I found him another one on eBay but he's not going to be able to configure it himself, so I want to transfer the configuration changes (Not sure if there are any) that he's made on his old device to his new one.I'd like to avoid a computer if possible; partly because I don't have a data cable but even if I did use Bluetooth I really don't want to have to install pc suite just to do this.

Jan 7, 2015I have a new Turbo. I participate in a lot of conference calls using the same conference room code. To make it easier to dial in, I had it setup on my old phone (Razr Maxx HD) to send the room code after I connected the call. Worked great and I didn't have to memorize a long string and input it (while driving usually). Now, when I click ok to send the tones, they're sent so fast that it comes across as one tone and isn't recognized. Setting the tone length in the settings does no good - normal is still too short. I've tried putting commas (,) in between each number, but that takes sooooo long it defeats the purpose. What's going on or other way to send the tones? I've tried other dialers, but they all use the OS settings and don't do any better.

This happens on both wifi and my cell network. Are the wifi and cell radios just dying on my phone, or was this message added in an HTC update and just fires off everytime there's a slight connection problem?

Mar 22, 2012I received a ficticious phishing email puportedly from PayPal advising of a payment of $135.50 to someone I had never hear of and offering access to my account which obviously was a phishing sceme. While I did not follow the link to the phishing website, I did click on a couple of other links (Transaction ID, etc.) and when disccusing the matter with PayPal, it was suggested I may have infected my iPhone with malware. Jun 22, 2011want to make sure my employer hasn't installed any spyware software on my device. From my reading, you can look for signs such as spikes in data transfers when you're not using the phone, that sorta thing. I'd like to be absolutely positive there is no spyware installed, and so what I'm thinking is that in a week or two, I'd like to do a re-installation of the blackberry OS system software. I'm on a mac, and my understanding is that I can take the phone in to an AT&T store and they could do the reinstallation for me. If I were to do that, would I also have to reinstall all of the apps I've downloaded? And short of this method, is there any proven spyware detection software I could use to avoid having to take these steps?

Last week I was using Google Maps on my iPhone 5S for voice navigation through Seattle during rush hour. I took a turn too sharply and my phone rolled off it's spot on my dash and it fell to the floor mat in my car. When safe, I picked it up and there was an alert-style message that said something along the lines of "We notice that you shook your phone while using Google Maps. Let us know if you are having difficulty using this app."Â
I subsequently checked Privacy/Motion Activity and Google was not listed as requesting information about my phone's motion.
