I have upgrade IOS to 5.1 and face detection on the camera application does not seem to work. It doesn't seem to work on my iPad2 either. has anyone gotten this function/feature to work on either the iPhone 4 or iPad2?
View 3 RepliesSince I got the phone the face detection has never worked, I thought this might just be a rpoblem with the software so wasnt really bothered however looking on various fourms I cant see that anyone else has had this problem. however when i try the update software says im as up to date as I can be however im only on version 2.2.2 whereas the update site clrealy says there is 2.4.24 availible.

I was thrille dto hear that Nokia do updates which can also enhance this phone's cameras which is really cool. My question is if Nokia could make an update that gives the phone Face Detection, Smile Detection, and all those other modern camera features? It seems unlikely to me but I was just wondering if they could do this, and if they, can they do it soon.

I'm thinking that it should be able to sense darkness and turn the screen off. I have it checked and don't know if I'm impatient but you would think a couple of minutes should be enough time. I had screen timeout set to never so I tried it with a timeout set. I was thinking my shirt pocket was not dark enough so I put it in my jeans, still nothing. I even tried sticking it under a pillow and still nothing.

The auto detection of location does not work. I have set the update interval to every 2 hours.

Before i left for work the location on the weather widget is "Kampong San Teng"
When i reach office and after 2 hours the location is still "Kampong San Teng" only when i manually go to weather widget and tap on use my location then it will change to "Buona Vista".
So, even before i buy the phone, one of the highlights everyone make is:
"You can double-chop to turn the flash on or off. But if you activate the flashlight this way and set the phone face-down, the flashlight will almost immediately turn itself off."
Sounds awesome, so i tried it, double-chop works fine, but the flashlight dont turn itsel off when i put the phone face-down, and i waited a long time hoping the sensors have a delay, i tested in many surfaces and all the same.
It doens't seems to have a setting about this as the phone do it automatically..
So, that's it, i will have to accept it will never work on my phone? I already factory reset the phone after the update to MM, and a few days later.
Is there a hack or an app that makes the edge lighting work when the phone is face up? I like knowing who is texting me by the edge lighting but don't always want to have the phone face down.

I received a ficticious phishing email puportedly from PayPal advising of a payment of $135.50 to someone I had never hear of and offering access to my account which obviously was a phishing sceme. While I did not follow the link to the phishing website, I did click on a couple of other links (Transaction ID, etc.) and when disccusing the matter with PayPal, it was suggested I may have infected my iPhone with malware. Simple: If Google Maps is using my motion activity to send me messages using their app, then why doesn't the app appear in Privacy/Motion Activity?Â
Last week I was using Google Maps on my iPhone 5S for voice navigation through Seattle during rush hour. I took a turn too sharply and my phone rolled off it's spot on my dash and it fell to the floor mat in my car. When safe, I picked it up and there was an alert-style message that said something along the lines of "We notice that you shook your phone while using Google Maps. Let us know if you are having difficulty using this app."Â
I subsequently checked Privacy/Motion Activity and Google was not listed as requesting information about my phone's motion.
Ok so i use to have a blackberry and one of the best apps i had on that phone was an app that allowed me to see who texted me with a pop up notifcation that included both the text and there picture. it was cool. now that i have an iphone, whitch is suppose to have all theses many many apps i cant seem to find an app like this..

The camera is much better than my last one but it's doing the same thing when I'm talking to someone. Yesterday I was talking to a buddy and all of the sudden he was on speaker phone and a Facetime call was started. When I hung up I noticed that the keyboard had pressed the 5 button several times too.My question is there a fix for this? Is it hardware or software? I've read both here and the fact that apple gave me a new phone last time I'm thinking it's hardware.

A couple of days ago I had to a hard reset (all 3 stages) and since then the PC won't recognise my 5800 as a phone (in media transfer mode)..........BUT it now recognises the memory card as a proper computer drive (drive D, a second HDD which is now corrupted) if put into 'mass storage' mode!! It now appears on the Windows device driver as a 'portable device' and not under 'USB connections' as before.I've done a System restore on the PC to back before the phone reset with no success.And the phone behaves perfectly in all respects.The problem with the 5800 not being detected as a phone is that the C drive does not appear and so is not accessible.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI got Bitpim to recognize the serial and modem ports for Samsung as available but,when I try to goto file system with the serial port, it shows the folder icon as open but it doesn't do anything. I tried to use "Other CDMA Phone" for detection. If I try the Modem port, it says "Retrieving." like it's attempting to open it but, soon, it stops and is in the same spot as the serial port.
