I recently updated my n8-00 to symbian anna. When I use the map loader to download australian maps I get the status bar showing the download progress then when it gets to the end it says 'Unrecoverable download error' and no maps are loaded.
View 1 RepliesAgain, I am starting the topic of Nokia Map Loader. I have read all the topics regarding this issue here and on other forums, nothing works for me. I can't seem to have a way of downloading the Europe maps, when I go to the Pc Suite mode, the phone drive is visible and download is almost possible but when I choose a map, even a small one, the disc space information shows e.g. -53MB available space. If I go to the mass storage mode, in accordance with the instructions here:

I get the info message: One of the phones is connected in mass storage mode... And when I tick the info box, waiting for phone appears and nothing happens. Map loading to N900 is a JOKE my friends. If anybody can help me, I'd be grateful. I have tried deleting the cities folder and then recreating it once more. My PC operating system is WIndows 7.
In this phone no have download OVI MAPS or any OTHER MAPS..please tell me how to download any MAPS WITH NAVIGATION in this phone?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Nokia N97 on T-Mobile UK with software v21.0.045 This is the latest version I believe. When I check Nokia's website on how to download the free sat nav version of maps my phone won't let me do it. Nokia says I have to go to applications then sw updates. I do not have a software update option via applications. I can check for sw updates via settings - phone - phone mgmt - device updates - options - check for updates. It appears to receive information from t-mobile but does not display anything on the phone. No options to download ovi maps or anything else. Is there a direct download link that i can simply just click and then install the ovi maps 3.03 from my pc suite's application manager.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to the latest version of Nokia Maps, but when I ran it it said it needed to delete my old maps as they were incompatible. I did that, and then found that Map Installer won't run on my Mac as we have got operating system Tiger 10.4 not Leopard. There were no warnings. Is there another way to get the maps apart from using mobile download time? I once found a website that allowed you to get the maps manually and copy them to the phone, but can't find it anywhere. I do have Nokia Multimedia Transfer

Even when I finish downloading, there is no confirmation if anything was successfull.How can I check the regions that I already have and which versions I am on? It gets confusing to see new versions of maps being reported and me just unsure if I should take the time to redownload.

I have downloaded latest map loader ver. 3.0 from nokia website and it is not running. Every time I start it, it gives an error message "Connection to the map server has been interrupted. Make sure that your internet connection is working and retry. if you are still unable to download, try again later". Everything is fine with my connection. All softwares on phone and ovi suite are updated to latest versions. please help me in this.
View 7 Replies View RelatedRight so Ovi Suite 2.1 doesn't appear to do anything with maps Maps Updater complains about another instance being active (have to kill NokiaMServer.exe process) and then can't find my phone via BT (Ovi can) Moreover, what does Maps Updater do? Does it update the maps, update the map sw? I can Never remember And what about Map Loader? Does that install new maps to the device, or update the Map sw? Wouldn't you expect that whichever sw is used to download new maps would also be able to check if there are newer versions available? And the amazing Ovi Suite (sarcasm) doesn't this do anything with Maps? Who knows... And free navigation for the N79??? Status? Will this ever be supported? The applications may as well be written in Finnish, because I sure as heck can't figure it out (BTW Helsinki is a lovely city though and the ppl are friendly, but a guy I met there with a N97 said he hated the darned thing and would be upgrading to an iPhone asap)
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am a enthousiastic new owner of a Nokia 5800 XM. However I have a problem that ik cannot get resolved. It's about map Loader. I am able to connect my phone to teh mac using USB or Bluetooth and transfer my music and photo's using Nokia multemedia transfer and my contacts via iSync. However i am not able to update my maps using Map Loader. When I start map Loader I get a short notice of a message that the maps on my 5800 are aoutdated and that they wil have to be updated. Yes please, that is what ik really want! But then I get the following error message:
"Map catalogue loading failed." map Loader could't download the list of avaliable map regions. Possible causes include a lack of network connectivity or a problem on the maps server".
I'm attempting to use Map Loader 3.0.28.0 to load Maps onto my N97 Mini ( software version 10.0.020, 14-10-09 ), on which I have installed the latest Maps version ( 3.03 10wk01 b05 ). I've run this Maps more than once, and the cities folder exists on my E: ( Mass Memory ) drive. There is no 'F:' drive ( i.e. no memory card ). When I connect my phone to the PC, I start it in PC Suite mode. Using PC Suite 7.1, I am able to interact with my phone.
When I start Map Loader, it says 'You have connected at least one phone without a valid Maps drive. Either you are using an old Maps version - then you must update your Maps application or reconnect your phone in mass storage mode - or you have never started your Maps application - then you have to start the Maps application once and restart Map Loader'. Connecting in Mass Storage mode does not seem to help.
When downloading maps to my phone with Ver.3.0 Maps Loader, part 1/2 works fine, but at part 2/2, i get this "connection to medium storage interrupted. Attach your storage medium and retry" error at 85.1% everytime (i've tried several times).
Some info:
- I have ver.3.0 Maps on my phone.
- I've also tried updating the firmware and its up-to-date.
- I'm using a 8Gb memory card so it can't be lack of space.
What is causing this error?
It seems that Nokia Map Loader is dropped from the the Nokia/Ovi portfolio. The download link cannot be found and when opening Nokia Map Loader an error (connection has been interrupted) is displayed. Can someone knowledgeable confirm that Nokia Map Loader is no more and that this happy Nokia PC Suite users is forced into the buggy Ovi Suite?

I bought this device right after Nokia announced that free offline navigation would be available for all current N-series handsets.How come that Ovi Maps is not available for the current N-series flagship? View 3 Replies View RelatedAbout a month ago I bought the Nokia 5800 as I wanted the free Sat Nav, I have version 3.01 on the phone, when I phoned Nokia about something else I asked them about version 3.03 and they told me I could not install this until I had used all the days of my 10 free trial, then I was to ring them again and they would help install it for me, after 55 minutes on the phone we had no joy, so I decided to try myself and did it first time. Now the question I need answered with your help is, I am going to Italy in June and when I open the GPS (offline) it works fine in the UK where I live, and when I input the town Pisa, Italy it finds it on the maps, does this mean that the Sat Nav will work in Italy or is this just a map?
When you download version 3.03 does it download all the maps?Also is there anyway I can find out which maps I have on the phone?
I recently bought a nokia E7 (Blue) US Version but I am using it in Canada. I updated it to Symbian Anna and so on. Everytime I try to add new maps from the cell phone itself it says (downloading list, please wait) this takes FOREVER, then i try to do it by nokia ovi suite, well that is even worse, sometimes it says THERE SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH CONNECTING THE ONLINE MAPS, sometimes it says some crazy errors (COULDNT CONNECT TO THE SERVICE, ETCC). I deleted the E:/cities folder + QF file, I opened the Ovi map apps and they got restored and so on but still nothing happens. Is there any other way to add some map I mean MANUALLY? I need the USA and Canada map, (voice guidande male us), I read some discussion from Ovikudy on how to do it manually but i need theses files.
BTW, I regret buying this Nokia E7 big time I should have listened to my friends and go to ANDROID. I know nokia is killing symbian but please fix those MAP serverS.
I have the Nokia 6600 slide, and I would like to uninstall the Nokia Maps application, because I hardly use it and it takes a lot of space on the memory card (the maps). I suppose that I can just delete the maps in order to free the memory of the card, however would like to know if there is a "proper"

Install it or latest phone software. My colleague and I can think of one good reason why it could be intended, but I won't mention it anymore.I just get irritated by the fact that all the other countries have this functionality, and I am not able to enjoy it simply because I reside in the Philippines. View 6 Replies View RelatedI was thrilled to read that finally, Nokia Maps were unexpectedly free. I looked for a download link for my N78 and eventually found one on the Nokia site, so I downloaded the new Map Updater App.
1) While trying to install the maps, the installer prompted me that there wasn't enough space available. I searched my phone and erased as much as possible.
2) At the same time, I installed the new PC Suite. As a result, after restart, my N78 isn't recognized anymore by the computer.
So here my two questions again: how do I restore connectivity between my PC (running XP SP3) and my phone and how do I install those maps?
Nokia Maps app cannot connect to the internet. It remains in the offline mode. On trying connecting to internet connection failed is displayed. How could I make nokia maps online?

Now I connect to my PC and go to maps on Ovi suite and it won't let me doownload any maps, what am I doing wrong? I have tried deleting the cities folder and the other file on the handset first and then retrying etc but nothing seems to work.

It's got the latest firmware on it but for some reason I can't download the new nokia maps v3. I'm still stuck with the **bleep** v1! Also I cannot update or download the new Ovi Maps for my phone as well.
Maps kept crashing on me. My one year warranty just expired. I'm so fed up with this phone. ANYWAY, I was using the GPS when it failed on me and decided to restore my phone. After doing that, I tried to install maps and now my phone tells me that there is not enough space on my phone. I says it needs well over 3000MBs of space. My memory card has at least that much on it. How do I get Maps to download onto my memory card?
What else could I do? I don't think my phone has enough memory with nothing installed on it to get all of the USA (but I had it all on my phone before I restored it, in addition to Mexico and Canada).
