Nov 3, 2011I recently bought a nokia E7 (Blue) US Version but I am using it in Canada. I updated it to Symbian Anna and so on. Everytime I try to add new maps from the cell phone itself it says (downloading list, please wait) this takes FOREVER, then i try to do it by nokia ovi suite, well that is even worse, sometimes it says THERE SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH CONNECTING THE ONLINE MAPS, sometimes it says some crazy errors (COULDNT CONNECT TO THE SERVICE, ETCC). I deleted the E:/cities folder + QF file, I opened the Ovi map apps and they got restored and so on but still nothing happens. Is there any other way to add some map I mean MANUALLY? I need the USA and Canada map, (voice guidande male us), I read some discussion from Ovikudy on how to do it manually but i need theses files.
BTW, I regret buying this Nokia E7 big time I should have listened to my friends and go to ANDROID. I know nokia is killing symbian but please fix those MAP serverS.
Nokia Navigation :: Cannot Download Maps On 700
Nov 8, 2012Maps kept crashing on me. My one year warranty just expired. I'm so fed up with this phone. ANYWAY, I was using the GPS when it failed on me and decided to restore my phone. After doing that, I tried to install maps and now my phone tells me that there is not enough space on my phone. I says it needs well over 3000MBs of space. My memory card has at least that much on it. How do I get Maps to download onto my memory card?
What else could I do? I don't think my phone has enough memory with nothing installed on it to get all of the USA (but I had it all on my phone before I restored it, in addition to Mexico and Canada).

Jan 2, 2012I have been in Kuwait for four months now. I have used Nokia maps without any problem. But a few days ago, i was updating Kuwaiti map and voice guidance via Nokia suite and I lost both the msp snd the voice guidance. I tried to download them through Nokia suite but with no success. The following message is always shown:Couldn't connect to the service. There seems to be a problem with connecting to the online map service. If the problem doesn't go away, please try again later.

Nov 19, 2012I just received a Lumia 900 and updated to the latest firmware and am having troubles downloading maps on nokia drive, both on the 2.0 and now 3.0. It says I need to be on wifi to download, however I am on wifi and I can access the web, email and every other function on my phone, except download maps on Nokia Drive as it doesn't recognize I am online on wifi however drive does work only it updates the map in realtime so I can't use the maps offline as it does not allow me to download offline maps. When I uninstall drive and then reinstall the app I can download from the maps for countries that do not have regions such as hong kong, however if I select US or China, a large country where you have to select the region the region/state page is blank. I have already tried soft and hard resetting to no avail and also tried different wifi networks with the results.

Oct 14, 2011I am a developer and I'm working on a prototype application using Qt on my E7-00.
I would like the users of my application to use maps in offline mode.
So If I use Nokia Ovi Suit , it will take hours to download all the maps (approx 9 GB of data)..more importantly ovi suit refuses to download maps if my phone is not connected to the pc.
Is there a way I can download the maps as a zip file or something from my pc and then later install them on my phone? If yes..where can I find the downlaod links? I am using an E7-00 with Symbain Anna update (round icons..cool!!)

Aug 16, 2010Just because I want to, I'd like to be able to download the entire Ovi maps database - every detail of every corner of the Earth, not just all the cities/countries available in Nokia Software Updater, which I've already gotten. I figure that if all the roadways of every country in the world only occupy about 7-8GB on my 32GB drive, adding the terrain of the remaining unpaved/uninhabited regions of the world shouldn't add that much more.Or, at least less than I have available room on my drive.

When I check Nokia's website on how to download the free sat nav version of maps my phone won't let me do it. Nokia says I have to go to applications then sw updates. I do not have a software update option via applications. I can check for sw updates via settings - phone - phone mgmt - device updates - options - check for updates. It appears to receive information from t-mobile but does not display anything on the phone. No options to download ovi maps or anything else. Is there a direct download link that i can simply just click and then install the ovi maps 3.03 from my pc suite's application manager.

Oct 28, 2011I got a book reader from ovi store called 'Bubue' to read epub, text files. It worked beautifully for a while then every time i changed a book it started shutting down on me, I've tried reinstalling 3 times just now, it used to work but not anymore, jar ebooks are going blank after a minute. Also my device is getting slow in response. Games i downloaded, two of them got corrupted. one was Nokia game. Climate mission, i think it was called.I've already tried factory setting restoration, before that i had re installed phone but at that time I didn't have book reader.I have stored many books on my memory card, could that be reason for slow phone n corrupt games n application?. I have 8 gb memory card and im using almost 300 MB.59 mb off internal memory is free.

After this update when I open the Maps and select Settings and Navigation (to change i.e. voice), Maps closes automatically without any error messages. I can open all the other settings sub-menus.
