I lost all my maps due to a phone update. I am trying to download maps and found out that I can not download any maps in Asia. I was able to download maps from America, Africa and Europe but not for Asia. Nokia are you listening? It says unable to connect to server. Is Asia on a different server?
View 3 RepliesI recently bought a nokia E7 (Blue) US Version but I am using it in Canada. I updated it to Symbian Anna and so on. Everytime I try to add new maps from the cell phone itself it says (downloading list, please wait) this takes FOREVER, then i try to do it by nokia ovi suite, well that is even worse, sometimes it says THERE SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH CONNECTING THE ONLINE MAPS, sometimes it says some crazy errors (COULDNT CONNECT TO THE SERVICE, ETCC). I deleted the E:/cities folder + QF file, I opened the Ovi map apps and they got restored and so on but still nothing happens. Is there any other way to add some map I mean MANUALLY? I need the USA and Canada map, (voice guidande male us), I read some discussion from Ovikudy on how to do it manually but i need theses files.
BTW, I regret buying this Nokia E7 big time I should have listened to my friends and go to ANDROID. I know nokia is killing symbian but please fix those MAP serverS.
Maps kept crashing on me. My one year warranty just expired. I'm so fed up with this phone. ANYWAY, I was using the GPS when it failed on me and decided to restore my phone. After doing that, I tried to install maps and now my phone tells me that there is not enough space on my phone. I says it needs well over 3000MBs of space. My memory card has at least that much on it. How do I get Maps to download onto my memory card?
What else could I do? I don't think my phone has enough memory with nothing installed on it to get all of the USA (but I had it all on my phone before I restored it, in addition to Mexico and Canada).
I have been in Kuwait for four months now. I have used Nokia maps without any problem. But a few days ago, i was updating Kuwaiti map and voice guidance via Nokia suite and I lost both the msp snd the voice guidance. I tried to download them through Nokia suite but with no success. The following message is always shown:Couldn't connect to the service. There seems to be a problem with connecting to the online map service. If the problem doesn't go away, please try again later.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI just received a Lumia 900 and updated to the latest firmware and am having troubles downloading maps on nokia drive, both on the 2.0 and now 3.0. It says I need to be on wifi to download, however I am on wifi and I can access the web, email and every other function on my phone, except download maps on Nokia Drive as it doesn't recognize I am online on wifi however drive does work only it updates the map in realtime so I can't use the maps offline as it does not allow me to download offline maps. When I uninstall drive and then reinstall the app I can download from the maps for countries that do not have regions such as hong kong, however if I select US or China, a large country where you have to select the region the region/state page is blank. I have already tried soft and hard resetting to no avail and also tried different wifi networks with the results.

I would like the users of my application to use maps in offline mode.
So If I use Nokia Ovi Suit , it will take hours to download all the maps (approx 9 GB of data)..more importantly ovi suit refuses to download maps if my phone is not connected to the pc.
Is there a way I can download the maps as a zip file or something from my pc and then later install them on my phone? If yes..where can I find the downlaod links? I am using an E7-00 with Symbain Anna update (round icons..cool!!)
Just because I want to, I'd like to be able to download the entire Ovi maps database - every detail of every corner of the Earth, not just all the cities/countries available in Nokia Software Updater, which I've already gotten. I figure that if all the roadways of every country in the world only occupy about 7-8GB on my 32GB drive, adding the terrain of the remaining unpaved/uninhabited regions of the world shouldn't add that much more.Or, at least less than I have available room on my drive.

I was trying to download all maps in Europe - the map it got stuck on is for Greece.I cannot cancel it and the problem remains even if I close the application or even restart the phone.

After update I decided to update my Maps too. But during update it said " no internet connection" and stopped to update process. Under Menu - Apps - Program updates, I found new Nokia Maps application (Nokia Kartat). Selected and let it update.After successfull installation, my Maps application does not launch at all. If selecting Maps (Kartat in my Finnish localised phone) or Drive (Aja), the phone just popups an error 'Maps: Device does not support function' (Kartat: Laite ei tue toimintoa). i have tried multiple ways of getting it but i am not succeeding.
(1) ovi suite (with phone connected) would only do a country update (new zealand)
(2) ovi store via mobile service tells me i have v.308 but a physical check as per above clearly states i ony have v3.06.
(3) software update on the N8 doesn't recognise a maps update.
(4) i have tried the "updates" in the maps application itself but comes up with "the most recent map is already installed on your phone. no updates available. your map version: 00.02.45.109 release date: 30.11.2011"

Also I cannot update or download the new Ovi Maps for my phone as well.
I have a Nokia N97 on T-Mobile UK with software v21.0.045 This is the latest version I believe. When I check Nokia's website on how to download the free sat nav version of maps my phone won't let me do it. Nokia says I have to go to applications then sw updates. I do not have a software update option via applications. I can check for sw updates via settings - phone - phone mgmt - device updates - options - check for updates. It appears to receive information from t-mobile but does not display anything on the phone. No options to download ovi maps or anything else. Is there a direct download link that i can simply just click and then install the ovi maps 3.03 from my pc suite's application manager.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe latest Nokia Maps update refuses to install either via Nokia Suite or OTA (version 3.8.105) but simply says that something went wrong/isntall failed and doesn't even report an error code. I installed another update for the phone 1 week or so ago and Maps wouldn't connect to a GPS-satellite and thus was unable to navigate but this seems to have corrected itself with the reset. I've tried soft resetting and returning the phone to factory settings but the update still refuses to download and install.

After this update when I open the Maps and select Settings and Navigation (to change i.e. voice), Maps closes automatically without any error messages. I can open all the other settings sub-menus. Any ideas why this is happening? Do I have the to re-install the application, maps and voices?
