Nokia :: 6710 Navigator / Keypad Errors / Reset Functions
Mar 5, 2010
I have a relatively new 6710 Navigator but the keypad is starting to do strange things. Occasionally it wont recognize that I have pressed a button despite having pressed it several times and now it starts another function when I press a different button. E.g Maps start up when I press call cancel button. are there any reset functions/instructions to reset phone?
I bought two 6710 navigator phones a few months ago. I have numerous problems with these phones. Is there anybody else who have problems with this specific model. This is suppose to be a Navigator phone, however the GPS is giving me problems. I would like to hear from you on this forum.
The new kind of t9 with nokia navigator 6710 is really really bad, I'm searching to get the older one on this phone.the problem is that when you press * to change the word, the phone become slower, and open a new window where you can see the words and choose. this thing is really uncomfortable and make you really slower and harder to complete the sms.the big problem is that you can't enable or disable this option, you must use it! this is a very bad thing from nokia, cause people must choose their way to write sms.i can disable and enable t9, so why can't i enable and disable this option? this is a bug from nokia in this phone!please help me to find a patch, a software or something else to solve this problem, or if doesn't exist i need someone that advice nokia to put something to download on the site, to solve this problem.
I have recently purchased a new Nokia 6710 Navigator and would like to know why it switches itself off after about 8-10 minutes when the headset is connected with the radio turned on?Everything else is ok.
I used to have a bracket for my old 6110 Navigator which was was fitted with the power supply jack at the top of the phone. The bracket has the power jack inlet at the bottom. I am looking for a similar solution for the 6710 Navigator which also has the power inlet jack on the top. So far I can not find any such solution for this phone. Anyone have any solution for this?No good solution to have the charging cable come in on the top. Cannot see that Nokia has bothered to care about this problem.
My phone zooms in and out at its own pleasure, both when in gallery and when using nav. Also keys are hard to press and sometimes i have to press the send button 6 or 7 times to send a message? Anybody else having these probs? the phone has done all of these things since the day i got it, now 6 months ago
I have Nokia 6210 Navigator. A few days ago, it's screent started to go pink, rend etc. and the image on the screen was shaking. And one day later, it turned off itself and now I can't turn it on. When I press the turn on button, screen's light are ok,but there are no Nokia logo etc. 3-4 seconds later it turns off automatically.

Thanks to the work of ovikovi in his thread "New Ovi Maps: version 0.1.24.114 are out" Im now trying to sideload version 0.1.24.114 maps of Australia and Europe.I have the maps I want stored on my win XP PC. now I just need some help making them work with my 6710 running 3.04 navcore. can someone write a walk through?
Nokia must of know about the zooming problem with the 6710 navigator.as you don't release a product on the market unless you have tested it first.so i think they knew about the problem but decided to ship it out any way and relyed on it's staff to solve the zooming problem with a software upgrade but that has not happened because there is no solution for it so nokia why don't you come clean and say there is a problem with it.I'm taken my second one back tomorrow maybe go for a different phone.
When I'm using my 6710 Navigator in the car for navigation & listening to the directions via the car stereo (Bluetooth connection). About the first 1/2 second of the directions are missing. For example instead of "Turn right" I just hear "Right". I can sort of make my way but its hard not hearing the beginning of all the guidance. If I listen via the phone's speaker the instructions are complete. I have a 2009 Hyundai Getz, so its not an old stereo & have installed the latest maps/software on the phone. My 6110 didn't have this problem.
I was just wondering why my Nokia N97 mini has a QWERTZ keypad and not a QWERTY keypad. It's a RM-555. I don't understand, the Y and Z keys have swapped places, doesn't make sense to me!
I have heard that Nokia made the Navigation feature for free for certain Nokia phones. Does anyone know whether there is free navigation for slightly older phone - for E71 ?
I bought a N86 RM-484 that is working very well. This morning i read in the newspaper the NOKIA gives for free the Navigator o its cellulars.I opened the Nokia WEB site and the news was real: you can free download maps for Smartphones (but non for N86). My N86 has its drive navigator with an original 10 days license (expires on 31/01/2010).
The walk navigator has a lifetime license.
I then updated the drive navigator license data, but no change. It keeps prompting me to buy a new licence for the drive navigatorr( 99 euro, one year).
It does not sound correct: is now free or not free the NOKIA navigator? Before trying Nokia Maps, I upgraded to 20.115 via software updater and it prompted me to install nokia maps 3.0, which I did.
Is there any way to have an iSync plugin for my Mac and my brand new 2710 nagigator phone? I need only to sync contacts, nothing else. I don't wanna use virtual machines or windows at all!
Is there any hope, that this Superb Phone would some day do what the much simpler phones already ages do: Work as Voice Guiding Car Navigator? What is the matter, why not? When?
I live in Barcelona spain and bought a new 5800XM for christmas. As soon as I saw the new free navagator I tried to install, but it says that it needs latest firmware 31.0.008 or onwards, so I duely try to update my phone, I download the nokia software updater, conect my phone and it then tells me:-
Firmware version Current 25.0.025 Update 25.0.025
how can this be when I see people have v40. What am I doing wrong, I read someones feed saying I must wait wait and wait for my operator to update. Is this true, does this not com from nokia.
Got a replacement Nokia X6 and updated map software to 3.03. Walk Navigation says no data. Updating voices with Nokia Map Loader does not give the option of loading "Walk With Street Names" as per my old faulty Nokia X6.
If my MP3 Player is running while I'm downloading, the phone will crash & shut down, the GPS loses signal, I cannot install Nokia OVI Maps 3. The phone loses signal while I'm on the internet, etc. Does anyone know where I can get a change log for the Nokia Firmwares? I'm currently using v05.501 & I'm still experiencing the problems. Nokia Maps v3 doesn't want to install either?
I havent found any settings to adjust the brighness of the display in my new Nokia 2710. But the manual says that i should reduce the brightness if i wanted to save battery power. Did i miss something? I think its just not implemented! Thats very disappointing, since the dispaly is too bright to use it as a navigation device at night in the car.
Is there any link between contact and Navigator in N97 mini? I have full addresses in my business contacts, but I can't find a way to "import" a specific contact's address to the navigator. In "set destination" I have to write the address, there is no opion "from contacts". Neither there is an option "Navigate to" in contacts.
I have a nokia 6210 navigator and I can't get it to connect to my PC by the USB cable. It worked fine about a week ago and now it won't connect. I have updated the software and it still won't connect, when I plug the lead in to the phone it says "USB connected in PC suite but the PC suite dose not recognise the phone. When I try to connect within the PC suite it still doesn't find the phone.
I'm the rather disgruntled owner of a Nokia 6210 Navigator and have recently learnt about the free navigation offered by Ovi Maps for selected phones. I contacted Nokia's Careline in Australia only to find they were not even aware that it was possible to get a free navigation version, and point blank argued with me until I provided them a link to show otherwise. As per norm, Nokia fails to provide good customer service, however having read the forums somewhat, I am hopeful that the moderators here might be my salvation.
I'm wondering if there is a list of phones that the free navigation may be added to? I'm also on a 3 mobile (Orange in the UK I think) with vendor specific firmware, if this isn't up to par, is there anything I can do? Are there any work arounds to enable support for my 6210 Navigator? Having been a nokia user for the past 10 years, I have been very frustrated by the lack of support provided customers, if I may; Moderators - convince me to stay with Nokia.
