Is there any way to have an iSync plugin for my Mac and my brand new 2710 nagigator phone? I need only to sync contacts, nothing else. I don't wanna use virtual machines or windows at all!

But the manual says that i should reduce the brightness if i wanted to save battery power. Did i miss something? I think its just not implemented! Thats very disappointing, since the dispaly is too bright to use it as a navigation device at night in the car.

I just bought the 6350 and am mostly[1] satisfied. My biggest problem with the handset is that there's no support for the 6350 in Apple's iSync application and there isn't a plugin available from Nokia. When I bought it I had to enter all of my information by hand (since a SIM transfer completely sucks[2]). Now I'm having the handset replaced because the back is falling off and I'm faced with reentering all of that information again.
So, when will there be iSync support for the 6350? And are there any other ways (other than the aforementioned sucky SIM card method) to transfer all of my current data from the old 6350 to the new one when I get it in a couple of days?
[1] Modulo pathetic default ring tones and inadequate bolding of calendar dates which have attached notes.
[2] The SIM card method of transferring information sucks because all the names are UPPER CASED, names with multiple numbers are converted into two names, all the number type information is lost and, the last time I tried it, no calendar information was transferred ...

View 4 Replies View RelatedOn the support site is a link from Vivaz Pro to download the iSync plugin. This links to a file Sony_Ericsson_iSync_plugins_(9)_v2.1_fc.dmg which does not contain the plugin required for Vivaz U5i or Vivaz Pro U8i. There is an older version lurking around here (v2.0b) which contains a U5i plugin but no U8i. There are a load of people moaning on the Facebook discussion about this but no solution, and searching here I can find no mention.
The first thing Sony Ericsson need to do to stop off customers is remove the link to the wrong file from the support page. Had I known that Vivaz Pro was not supporting Mac iSync I wouldn't have got it, but I checked first and saw that the iSync plugin was (allegedly) available for download so expected it to work. This is very shoddy business practice by SE who have been my preferred mobile since the Ericsson T10 and R300 over 10 years ago.
Can we please have a working U8i iSync plugin - since you already have a U5i one the changes will be trivial - probably just to the package name and some of the identifying strings in the xml .plist files. It is not rocket science. Has anyone found a way to adapt the U5i one without SE support - at the moment I can't use my new phone as I can't sync contacts and calendar so it'll be going back before the 14 days are up and I'll switch to a different brand for future phones (sadly this will probably mean joining the iPhone herd as at least then I'll be confident it'll work with Mac).
I've just taken delivery of my new Nokia 2710, which I bought to take advantage of the free worldwide maps that Nokia offers. It could be that I don't really understand the interface yet, but I have not found any way to plan a route from A to B via C. From A to B is pretty straightforward and works well, but all the clicking around hasn't enabled me to plan a detour. The only option seems to be to set the detour as destination and after arriving set the final destination. This is not really an option for me. The 'plan route' menu looks like the place to add a via point, but I haven't been able to change anything other than the starting point and the destination. I realize that the Maps software for S40 series phones would be somewhat limited compared to the S60 series/smartphones, but this strikes me as something that should be in there.

I tried doing it with PoiEdit, the online one from Garmin,.. Nothing works! I put the lmx files on my phone with USB. But, when I try to open, it doesnt work.

Handy can not find the headset!
1. Bluetooth ist switched to "on"
2. Handy set to "visible to evrybody"
3. Headset ist checked and working (functening with my notebook !)
4. Handy Bluetooth checked and working too (notebook found by it)
Still no connection between 2710 an Headset. Any Idear?
Is there a way to import a route (lmx file) and use it with the 2710? I can't find the way to open such a file...

View 5 Replies View RelatedOur company has recently bought 220pcs of nokia 2710 (brand new). After using them for 3days (8 hour shifts) GPS started to fail - the GPS icon just disappears and GPS itself does not send any new data. Some of the phones recover after a full restart others don't.I have called Nokia support and according to them if the GPS icon is missing the phone is defect.We have already replaced 30 phones under warranty, but each day new ones are affected by this issue. I suspected there might be some energy saving feature (although most users have the car charger connected all the time) or other option which turns off the GPS, but again Nokia support says no. Does anybody know how to resolve this issue or are the phones just not built for 8hour GPS standby?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was trying to back up my contacts from my Nokia E51, but something went wrong and they are now missing.
Here is what I did:
I downloaded the Nokia E51 iSync plugin found on this page after selecting E51: http://europe.nokia.com/support/product-support/isync/compatibility-and-download.I made sure iSync.app was not running and installed the plugin.I created a group in Address Book.app called Nokia, into which I was going to back up my contacts.I started iSync and added my mobile device. I chose to sync Contacts into the Nokia group, but decided not to sync the CalendarI chose to merge data (not to erase the device details first, which is another option)When I clicked sync I saw a message on the phone stating "Sending 315 contacts", and a little while later, "Receiving 315 contacts." Finally, a "Sync complete" (or something similar) appeared.
After this, I was a little more than shocked to find both the Nokia group within Address Book.app empty, as well as the contacts list on the phone it self. In pure desperation, I restarted the phone, but still - all my contacts are missing.
I know that the webpage says that one should backup all details before synchronizing - which in itself is somewhat of a chicken and egg problem. Backing up is exactly what I was trying to do.
Does anyone have any pointers or ides that I could try to get back the (potentially, hopefully) lost data? I haven't written anything back to the contacts list, is there a way to reconstruct (parts of) the contacts list by reading the memory directly (similar to how deleted files can sometimes be recovered if they haven't been written over)?

Calendar entries made on my Mac still show up under the "PC Suite" calendar on the N8.

This morning i read in the newspaper the NOKIA gives for free the Navigator o its cellulars.I opened the Nokia WEB site and the news was real: you can free download maps for Smartphones (but non for N86). My N86 has its drive navigator with an original 10 days license (expires on 31/01/2010).
The walk navigator has a lifetime license.
I then updated the drive navigator license data, but no change. It keeps prompting me to buy a new licence for the drive navigatorr( 99 euro, one year).
It does not sound correct: is now free or not free the NOKIA navigator? Before trying Nokia Maps, I upgraded to 20.115 via software updater and it prompted me to install nokia maps 3.0, which I did.
Why skype is not working with Nokia 6710 Navigator.
