In Connectivity/Destinations, I have "Internet" as my default connection method, this is denoted by a tiny little tick at the side of it.But every now and then, it will fail to connect, and when going into Connectivity/Destinations, the little tick has gone.This is my 3rd 5800 and the 3rd one to do this any ideas why ?
View 4 RepliesI've recently bought a Nokia 5800 xm and have been able to connect it to my home internet using the wlan wifi.
I can only use the wifi if i go to settings>connectivity>wlan. If i go straight to internet, it tries to connect to t-mobile internet. This also happens when trying to use applications such as bbc iplayer and the ovi store.
Is there a way of setting the wifi connection as the default connection? If not, is there a way of setting up my applications so they connect using wifi?
Whenever I try to use OVI, BBC iPlayer etc. it tries to connect to internet via my post-paid SIM connection even when WiFi connection available.How can I make WiFi connection as default web setting instead of connecting using my SIM?Interestingly, when I open Opera, it presents a list of available connections I can easily select one.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI've tried lots of things and still no joy. Basically, my 5800 (with v50.0 firmware) keeps losing my wlan - even when sat physically next to it. It doesn't lose connection (since it's not connected), it loses (apparently loses) the wlan signal but immediately finds it again - all whilst I am sat watching it within the connectivity->wlan page.I have sat there, with my laptop running a signal analyser, poling every 500ms and the router's signal doesn't drop at all, yet my phone is sat next to it and every so often it'll show my wlan go from "known" to "unknown" and the signal goes from 100% to none. 8/10 my phone will connect to my wlan for internet use or downloading emails, 2/10 it'll resort to contract WAP since it believes my wlan is unavailable. My wlan broadcasts on a channel that is not overlapped by my neighbours, and my laptop shows a constant 100% signal strength, regardless of other wlans that may or may not be broadcasting (those wlans that do occasionally appear are very weak, and the 5800's dropping doesn't appear to coincide with their temporary appearance).
The wlan is running in 802.11g mode, and is WPA protected. I have tried having no security on it, same problem. I have tried adding the MAC address to the router, same problem. My wife has the same phone, same firmware, and hers does the same thing - except at different times (it's not like the both drop sight of the wlan at the same time).It appears, though I can't be sure, that if I go in through the connectivity->wlan page and choose my wlan and "connect" to it, then it stays connected and never drops. Unfortunately, this isn't an acceptable work-around since I have configured my phone to periodically check for emails and I don't want to have to remember every time I come home to manually connect, etc.Can anyone please suggest a course of action or investigation for me to undertake, since this is really, REALLY starting to confuse me!
I recently purchase the S305 and l really like the sound quality, comfort and convenience. It works excellent with my audio books which is the main reason I purchased it. The trouble I'm having is that on voice calls it is constantly dropping the connection. First I hear a farting noise and then my caller is gone.

My Xperia Neo V, It often loses signal/connection to the network despite me staying in the same place or being somewhere, where I am quite sure that there has to be mobile connectivity. Sometimes, I also have zero bars shown for connection quality, but data connection works. Sometimes, I have many bars for signal quality but data connection will not work.

In fact, my v2 (silver) apple tv is more reliable than my 4S. Steps I've taken on the iPhone - reset network connection, reset iPhone, reinstalled iOS. Nothing works.
I have a cisco E2000 router, set to 2.4 ghz, N only, wpa personal only. No fancy characters in the password. The 4S will connect, then drops the connections after around 15 minutes.

Nothing helped.
How can I find those default ringing tone in my phone and delete them? for example, at profiles> personalise> ringing tone there's a list of my sound track some are stored in memory card and some default (Chipper.aac, Diplex.aac..Etc) stored in phone memory. There is another mp4 file (freeheart.mp4) which I cannot find anywhere else except in the profile personalisation. Cannot be found in the file manager too.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a wireless bluetooth enabled speaker. I have paired it with my Blackberry Bold 9930. I play music (Pandora) on the blackberry and it plays thru the speaker. When the music changes songs it stops playing on the wireless speaker and starts playing thru the BB speaker. I have to disconnect and reconnect the bluetooth on the BB to make the music play thru the wireless speaker again. The same thing happens when I get a phone call and music is playing thru the wireless speaker..The speaker instructions say to use A2DP for audio streaming between devices. how to keep the music streaming to speaker?

When I wake up the phone the phone suddenly doesnt have any connection. i have to put the phone in offline mode and back to normal/silent for it to connect back to the network. it seems only to happen while in standby mode with powersaving mode enabled.

The latest incident was this morning. When I woke up I noticed that I didn't have the indicator light blinking on the outside of the phone when I know that I should've received e-mails throughout the night. When I went to go check it, I got the spinning circle for a minute or two and then "unable to connect" or whatever the connection error says. In this instance I was connected to my wireless network at home and my web browser was moving along very quickly so I know it wasn't the means to connect to my mail server that was the problem. Simply shutting off my phone and restarting fixed the connection issue this morning. The time before that, I received the error and then left the phone on my desk for about 20 minutes and it reconnected itself.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've recently had issues with my Xoom where it often loses touch connection. When I touch and drag it suddenly acts as if I lifted my finger when I did not. It's almost like something is interrupting the touch. I've tried uninstalling everything, doing a restore, stopping services, restarting the tablet, but none of it has worked.This does not happen all the time, but happens often, most often when I first turn the tablet on or when I've been using it a long time. Imagine playing Angry Birds and having the bird fling itself when you've just started pulling back the sling shot. It's quite frustrating. Kidding aside it affects other applications as well. For example I can no longer draw dependably since my lines end up cutting off at unexpected moments.
My screen also has some kind of strange oily stuff under it when I press it. I thought these issues were due to my screen protector so I took it off, but the issues continue. It's been getting worse to the point where sometimes it does not go away for a while. Eventually the oily stuff disappears but when I touch the screen it comes back.
My brand new phone goes into a white screen and locks up.T-Mobile said to reload the OS .330. Is that the fix?I did a back up and can reload the OS.When I go to restore my data, (after three times) about half way through, the BB loses connection to laptop.I get error "could not establish connection to device". BB reboots, and I still have no data.
Also, through all this, I was getting JVM Error 529.I kept pulling out the battery.
Question: Why the white screen of death? Why is my back up not restoring? Should I start over again? Is there a way to do a clean install and not install over the existing OS?
I barely get a signal standing in front of the router! I dont even use it anymore. The phone also drops both 3g and 4g for no apperent reason.

I'm still connected to my router and can access things internal to my network (like my Sonos system or router), but can't get to anything external (such as pinging an IP address or doing a DNS lookup).

For the past 3 or 4 days each morning I wake up my 8530 has lost the data connection. When I open "Manage Connections" I see a green check mark next to Mobile Network- Verizon Wireless and Wifi so I know it's connected. If I un-check the Mobile Network and wait for it to disable then reconnect it will work fine and all my e-mails and texts from the night get pushed through. I have great service at my house so I'm not sure why my phone keeps losing the data connection at some point during the night. I am running the latest OS .886 and this is my second 8530 "certified pre-owned device" as my first 8530 died. I also did a battery pull the first day I noticed this which re-connected the data but it happened again when I woke up the next morning.Has this happened to anyone else?

Everything worked perfectly for a while - music, calling etc. but just recently if I try to use voice dialing, if I hold down the control key on the earpiece to initiate voice dialing it gives some slow beeps, disconnects and loses its pairing connection to the phone. Now I have to go back - delete the headset and re-pair them again!
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am having some problems connecting my 5800 with my computer via USB. I have the Ovi suite and Nokia PC suite installed on my computer. The computer is running windows 7.
I can establish a connection over Bluetooth, but when try to connect over the USB the phone just wont be found. Windows 7 installed the drivers for the phone, the USB connection says that the phone is in PC suite mode and I can access the phones memory though windows explorer. The only way Ovi or PC suite will recognise my phone is if I put it into mass storage mode, but when I do this they connect and then 5 seconds or so later the phone sets itself back to PC suite mode and the connection is lost.
The phone is less than a week old, all the software I am using is up to date and the cable is an official Nokia cable.Any help is greatly appreciated.

After successfully getting everything to work I noticed that my internet connection to Orange always switches on, even after going to connection manager and disabling it. I have tried everything I know but am unable to stop the phone doing this. It really drains the battery. Any help to understand why this is happening and a solution to stop it would be greatly appreciated.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Nokia 5800 XM. However, there seems to be a problem with WLAN connectivity. The phone can successfully search for available networks, and when I choose "Connect" the WLAN icon appears at the top right corner (as if it successfully connected). But, when I try to use the web browser, it pops up connectivity options (as if it is not connected to any WLAN network even though the antenna icon is there). I can choose the same WLAN from the options, but then it says "connection already active" and fails. When I open connection manager it doesn't list any active connections. A strange situation! I've upgraded its software to the latest version but that didn't solve the problem. Any ideas why this may be happening and how to solve it?
