since my 5.1.1 update, my iPhone 4S will not maintain connection to my wifi network. I have no problem with my iPad 3rd gen and mid 2011 Macbook pro 13". In fact, my v2 (silver) apple tv is more reliable than my 4S. Steps I've taken on the iPhone - reset network connection, reset iPhone, reinstalled iOS. Nothing works.
I have a cisco E2000 router, set to 2.4 ghz, N only, wpa personal only. No fancy characters in the password. The 4S will connect, then drops the connections after around 15 minutes.

It seems that my phone loses connection to my chromecast constantly. Only way to fix is it to turn off the wifi on my phone and switch it back on. I don't have this issue with my Nexus 5 or my Nexus 7.

Sometimes, I also have zero bars shown for connection quality, but data connection works. Sometimes, I have many bars for signal quality but data connection will not work.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Sony Xperia kyno V/neo V (MT11i), French retail version w/o branding - updated to ICS 4.0.4 via official Sony softwareMy provider used to be Free (France) which runs its own network but allows users to roam on the Orange France network wherever Free's newish network still lacks coverageMy phone seemingly randomly loses connectivity to voice and/or data service for also seemingly random periods of time - sometimes I cannot place or receive calls, sometimes I have no data connection while voice seems to work just fine, and sometimes there's nothing...Loss of signal often occurs while the phone is stationary in an area with normally fine network coverageI could not replicate the problem on a Nokia running Symbian and a Samsung running Windows Phone 7.5, but neither features a logging function of network signal like Android does The behavior of the phone seems highly unusual to me and while having no data connection for a few minutes is a minor nuisance, being unavailable for calls for minutes or even hours is simply unacceptable. I took a number of steps to solve the problem:I switched signal to WCDMA only (from WCDMA where available and otherwise GSM)I did a factory reset of the phoneI switched to another provider without domestic roaming (B&You, Bouygues)
Nothing helped.
In Connectivity/Destinations, I have "Internet" as my default connection method, this is denoted by a tiny little tick at the side of it.But every now and then, it will fail to connect, and when going into Connectivity/Destinations, the little tick has gone. This is my 3rd 5800 and the 3rd one to do this any ideas why ?

When the music changes songs it stops playing on the wireless speaker and starts playing thru the BB speaker. I have to disconnect and reconnect the bluetooth on the BB to make the music play thru the wireless speaker again. The same thing happens when I get a phone call and music is playing thru the wireless speaker..The speaker instructions say to use A2DP for audio streaming between devices. how to keep the music streaming to speaker?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've had the phone for around two weeks and so far about every few days I get the "unable to connect" notification regarding my corporate sync account through Motoblur. The latest incident was this morning. When I woke up I noticed that I didn't have the indicator light blinking on the outside of the phone when I know that I should've received e-mails throughout the night. When I went to go check it, I got the spinning circle for a minute or two and then "unable to connect" or whatever the connection error says. In this instance I was connected to my wireless network at home and my web browser was moving along very quickly so I know it wasn't the means to connect to my mail server that was the problem. Simply shutting off my phone and restarting fixed the connection issue this morning. The time before that, I received the error and then left the phone on my desk for about 20 minutes and it reconnected itself.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've recently had issues with my Xoom where it often loses touch connection. When I touch and drag it suddenly acts as if I lifted my finger when I did not. It's almost like something is interrupting the touch. I've tried uninstalling everything, doing a restore, stopping services, restarting the tablet, but none of it has worked. This does not happen all the time, but happens often, most often when I first turn the tablet on or when I've been using it a long time. Imagine playing Angry Birds and having the bird fling itself when you've just started pulling back the sling shot. It's quite frustrating. Kidding aside it affects other applications as well. For example I can no longer draw dependably since my lines end up cutting off at unexpected moments.
My screen also has some kind of strange oily stuff under it when I press it. I thought these issues were due to my screen protector so I took it off, but the issues continue. It's been getting worse to the point where sometimes it does not go away for a while. Eventually the oily stuff disappears but when I touch the screen it comes back.
My brand new phone goes into a white screen and locks up.T-Mobile said to reload the OS .330. Is that the fix?I did a back up and can reload the OS.When I go to restore my data, (after three times) about half way through, the BB loses connection to laptop.I get error "could not establish connection to device". BB reboots, and I still have no data.
Also, through all this, I was getting JVM Error 529.I kept pulling out the battery.
Question: Why the white screen of death? Why is my back up not restoring? Should I start over again? Is there a way to do a clean install and not install over the existing OS?
I barely get a signal standing in front of the router! I dont even use it anymore. The phone also drops both 3g and 4g for no apperent reason.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a US WiFi only Xoom with a weird network issue. Whenever I leave it at home when I go to work, I come back to a gray wifi indicator. I'm still connected to my router and can access things internal to my network (like my Sonos system or router), but can't get to anything external (such as pinging an IP address or doing a DNS lookup).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been without BIS for over 3 hours now since i've left my house this morning. It happens everyday and is getting worse Sometimes I lose it for 5 minutes, but 3 hours is ridiculous! I'm still connected to 3G. I can talk on the phone and I can use the browser for internet. But i can't get my work emails and my apps don't work. I tried resending my service books nothing I turned on and off all my services on the phone nothing. I run the connection diagnostics and it says Blackberry Registration: No. I updated to the latest leak .161 and that didn't help.I found a thread on Crack Berry where numerous others are encountering the same issue, so I don't think exchanging the device is going to help. Someone from Blackberry please fix this! This is a serious issue!
View 41 Replies View RelatedFor the past 3 or 4 days each morning I wake up my 8530 has lost the data connection. When I open "Manage Connections" I see a green check mark next to Mobile Network- Verizon Wireless and Wifi so I know it's connected. If I un-check the Mobile Network and wait for it to disable then reconnect it will work fine and all my e-mails and texts from the night get pushed through. I have great service at my house so I'm not sure why my phone keeps losing the data connection at some point during the night. I am running the latest OS .886 and this is my second 8530 "certified pre-owned device" as my first 8530 died. I also did a battery pull the first day I noticed this which re-connected the data but it happened again when I woke up the next morning.Has this happened to anyone else?

Everything worked perfectly for a while - music, calling etc. but just recently if I try to use voice dialing, if I hold down the control key on the earpiece to initiate voice dialing it gives some slow beeps, disconnects and loses its pairing connection to the phone. Now I have to go back - delete the headset and re-pair them again!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Nokia N97 and carrier service through AT&T. I subscribe to a monthly packet data plan which I have been using with my N97 for several months without issue. Several days ago my phone was no longer able to connect to the internet using my packet data connection. I was only unable to use the data connection with certain applications. The data connection would not work with the Ovi Store shortcut, Nokia Maps, the Nokia Web application, or the AP News widget. However, I was able to receive emails on Nokia Messaging through my data connection, and I was able to run my Fring application on it as well. I performed a hard reset which did not fix the problem.
I tried to adjust my network mode under the connectivity setting from Dual Mode to GSM, but that also did not have any effect. I then tried to run the setting wizard through phone setup to have it define my operator settings for internet, ect. After the wizard updated my settings I am now able to access the internet through the Nokia web application using my data connection. But maps and the ovi store still cannot connect using this connection.I have tried changing the connection settings under the maps application, but this has made no difference. Any help or advice would be very appreciated.
For the past few weeks the Maps program will not connect to the internet. It will bring up the local wifi that is available and say that the connection has failed. But all other uses of the internet are perfectly fine. Tried restarting. Firgured next step is to reinstall the whole thing but wanted to see if there was a solution that comes before that whole bit.

I have successfully established the connection, but often have to reboot the phone in order to get the connection established. At this point, I have been unable to figure out the pattern of when I can no longer get connected. I have turned off all Smart Actions that manipulate the GPS connection, I have tried leaving it on all the time, or off when I am not outside, nothing consistent that I can figure out.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got my new Bold9700 and am trying to set it up and failing completely. Part of this may be because I am in Costa Rica. The primary problem is that it is connecting to a WiFi network, but not to a BlackBerry Internet Service. I have a data plan, I am linked to a network here (called I.C.E), and I am connected to a WiFi network, but it will not open due to the lack of Internet Service connection.
My phone is apparently locked, but I am using a USA SIM card, not a Costa Rican one. Do I need to unlock my phone in order to connect to the Internet Server here? As a result of this connection, I also cannot access email or set up BBM.
I have a problem concerning my W715's WiFi. I enable it, find my router, but when I try to access internet my phone says "connection failure. check settings etc." I have went through every little setting, but still - no WiFi internet for me.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIt's all so confusing, my contract says I have internet, and I just rang up to confirm it... it's true but....How do I use it? I thought I could use it anywhere I want using the orange/t-mobile signal, but apparently I need to be within 300 ft of a router, or in a wi-fi hotspot zone. Not very helpful if I don't meet those criteria is it.When I try to use GPS it says " Network failure - This application requires a working data connection. "
