I get this error if I try and install any software via Ovi.If I try and install on the phone it just does nothing after showing the install details and requesting confirmation.Ovi says there are no firmware updates required (I'm on v31).

I have a big problem.... I can't install or uninstall anything on my 5800 . I have custom firmware 40.0.005. When I try to install or uninstall something it's says: Unable to start operation. Installer already in use.....Also A few days ago I had a problem with OVI store and I installed it but the shortcut is steel in the Application menu. ( if try to enter in ovi store it says that I have to update the application and if I try, I get an error). Is this a virus or a software problem? What should I do?

- restore phone memory from /e to /c
Except for reorganizing my menus and reinstalling fring and opera mini everything was ok. But YBrowser was also missing and reinstalled that one but it pompted with "Certificate epired". Setting back the date resulted in "Cetrificate not yoe valid" How can I get around these terrible certificate check?
I'm not quite sure what Nokia think they're playing at when they create a 'backup and restore' utility. Especially when you 'restore' after doing a soft reset and none of your original apps are there "Great" Now I've had to reinstall 'sports tracker', but it doesn't show up on the phone despite appearing to succeed. Also if I install it again it prompts with "do you wish to reinstall" (this is all through the PC based Ovi application)
View 6 Replies View RelatedIn an effort to "clean out" the 80 MB phone memory of my XpressMusic 5800, I think I deleted some files I should not have. For example, I thought I would delete the Skyfire and Weatherbug folders from C:, then reinstall it on the 8GB E: drive later. So I did this, then rebooted. The phone seems to be working fine, and Icons for Skyfire and Weatherbug are gone.But now I can't re-load them on the phone. I get to the Ovi store find using the default web browser, but the "Download" bar is grayed out, for both programs. I CAN download programs I have not downloaded before, but I want Skyfire and WBug. It seems either the phone or website is deciding "you already have this program, so you can't download it again". Anyone know how I can fix this?? I am using the latest S60 OS (40.2.005). Phone seems otherwise to be working fine. Any help appreciated.

I have tried removing it with windows explorer, nokia application manager but neither worked. I tried taking the memory card out and doing all of the above but nothing worked. Please can someone tell me how I can uninstall this application so that I can install opera 5 mini?

when i press check for update it says i have the latest version so i just forget about it. then i got the sms and i followed to the link and i pressed download, it downloaded fine but it says "ovi maps is not compatible with your current device software version. update to the latest device software with nokia software updater on your pc" but the software on my phone says that i have the latest update so i dont understand?
The thing is, i'm running out of memory in my 5800, i had 36 mb free in my phone and after updating to ovimaps 3.3 i have 30 mb, a there's still 15 mb to be updated, my question is, can i set the updates (im updating with the app. update)to be install in the memory card instead of the phone? i have nokia 5800, it doesnt receive sms after i use it for a week , then i have to replace it wid some other sim, doesn matter of same network or different, and then it starts workin fine.
when the problem persists, i turn it off and when i turn it on, i receive all the messages at once, even when network is not ready. after replacing wid some other sim and then putting back ma sim into ma cell, it starts workin fine again until a week goes and then again the same problem persists. i tried restoring factory settings , even resetted ma cell, but the same problem persists.
I've been successfully watching TV on my Nokia 5800 using the preinstalled BBC iPlayer app for sometime without problem. But for the past month, although I can connect to the app, and browse through the content pages, whenever I press click to play nothing happens - and the programme content (tv and radio) simply doesn't play. Any thoughts? Is RealPlayer involved?

I had a virus in my PC a few days ago, actually a Trijan, which Symantec was able to remove without requiring my Laptop to be formatted.But after that Camera stopped working, neither from hardware button, nor from applications. I reinstalled the firmware 30.xx and it started working again.
Now again Camera has stopped working, and also i have noticed, that when i click the arrow to go to next message, it goes to some months old messages randomly.DO i need some sort of formatting ? Will only hard reset work ? Is it some sort of virus on my cell?
after browsing in Opera Mini(5.2 beta), my 5800 froze and restarted. It no longer recognizes my memory card. On starting usb connection it tells me that i don't have a memory card in and PC-suite might not work as expected. I tried a soft-reset (*#7370#), but it still does not recognize the memory card. All applications saved on my memory card are no longer displayed. In file manager it tells me I have no memory card in. Of course I have ejected and inserted the memory card, but the initial problem started when my I was just browsing.

View 4 Replies View RelatedA day or two after the upgrade to firmware v40 I noticed that the phone doesn't disconnect from my WiFi connection after checking email. Previously WiFi would disconnect after it was done checking email.This happens for more than one WiFi destination (home & work), and I have verified that the connection's advanced settings do show that power saving mode is ON.
I've verified that there are no apps running in the b/g that requires connection, and if I manually disconnect the WiFi connection, then it stays disconnected until the next time the email check runs, at which point it does not disconnect automatically.

also, I had a glitch in composing a message one day, and the application just hanged. So, I restarted the phone and found that all my messages went missing. Any way to recover all my lost smses? and no, it's not in the phone memory, I stored them all in the memory card. All the other things(contact, settings, ringtones, music, videos, pictures) in the memory card are all intact.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm experiencing some weird problems on my 5800 xm. When I unlock the phone after it has been locked for a while the touch screen doesn't react at all. But if I lock and unlock again, it starts to work. Not a very big problem but kinda annoying. The other problem is that none of the physical buttons are working, except for the on/off button.
All those problems came at once and from no where. I hadn't installed or updated anything recently when it came. I've tried to update to v.50 and I've tried a "soft reset" but it isn't working. I can't do a hard reset since the buttons used for doing aren't working.
It feels like it's some kind of software problem rather than a hardware problem or what do you think? Anything I can try before going back to the store?

For me it just says "Turn right in 1 mile" .. no street name! It would be very helpful if this feature was included. But i have a problem with it ..... the problem that when i download any thing from nokia OVI Store from my mobile like: Games, apps and videos when download finished and starting to install the games or the apps it's say's: "installation failed" and when i redownload it again nothing change and keep saying "installation failed" ........ and i noted that when i install app ( themes, apps and games ) on my mobile by ovi suite or by file manager it also say's to me "Expired Certificat" even if i signed this apps but it alwyas say's "Expired Certificat"....... for this problem i did: hard reset - format my mobile - format my sd card - update my mobile to v40 - but the problem never stops to return in a few hours ..... then i find out that when i need to install any app on my mobile (by ovi suite or ovi store in my mobile or file manager) i have to switch off the mobile and turn it on again to install what ever i want ...... so Plz help me out

Problem 1:
The camera doesn't work. I open the camera application with both methods (button on side and icon in apps) but it does the red dot thing in the corner for about 4-6 seconds then disappears and applications tells me the app is running. I try to go to the app but it wont go on it.
Problem 2:
The green key, dialler and contacts icon on the home screen do not work at all. I have no way of opening my dialler as there is no option for it.
I updated my firmware to v40.0.005 last week. Please be aware the problems were both there BEFORE i made the update and are still here after the update.Is there any way of doing this without soft/hard resetting. Also, does soft/hard reset mean you lose the data in an app (eg your high scores in a game like bagatelle)?
I'm comparing to my 5530, On the contacts bar it nicely blends into the back ground, on the 5800 is a dirty oversized white block with the contact in the middle, no blending in or anything, same on the email, a horrible big white square, nothing blended in, I've tried different themes, and reflashed but no good.

The program automatically starts update after a few seconds, but it fails each time and the program shuts down. I tried uninstalling PC Companion and after reboot downloading & installing version 2.10.027, but this fails as well. Does anybody know how to overcome this and install new version or how to disable automatic updating?
