I have a big problem.... I can't install or uninstall anything on my 5800 . I have custom firmware 40.0.005. When I try to install or uninstall something it's says: Unable to start operation. Installer already in use.....Also A few days ago I had a problem with OVI store and I installed it but the shortcut is steel in the Application menu. ( if try to enter in ovi store it says that I have to update the application and if I try, I get an error). Is this a virus or a software problem? What should I do?

I just received my new Nokia 5800 from T-Mobile. The firmware is ok for me to install the free maps software 3.03
However, before I try to install the new software, I read on here that it is a good idea to uninstall old versions of nokia maps/ovi maps.The phone has Ovi maps 3.01 installed but when I go to the Application manager, ovi maps is not listed?Does anyone know how I can uninstall the old version?

1) the two virtual keys on homepage (Contact and Dial) are not working! My phone vibrates like usual when I press them, but just nothing would come out. Any solution to that?

I can't install the new ovi maps version 3.03 on my 5800XM (firmware version 31.0.101). installation is always aborted by "unknown error: -5", when i retry installation my mobile says 3.03 is already installed, but when i check the version-number it shows 3.01 (maybe it's interesting that nokia maps updater didn't find any updates.)

I get this error if I try and install any software via Ovi.If I try and install on the phone it just does nothing after showing the install details and requesting confirmation.Ovi says there are no firmware updates required (I'm on v31).

I have Nokia XpressMusic 5800 .my problem is that i can't install OVI services on my mobile..that's mean that i can't install a lot of applications that offers Nokia with this service.
i sent more times messages from stori.OVI.com .but without result.i didnt recive any message.i asked an uncle who is livign in Spain to sedn me a message..he did.i received the message.but when i open it.the mobile tell me that : you mobile is not any mopre avilable for this application....it's the same with more sis apllications like Fring.the mobile tell me that the Certificate is expered !!

After cleaning up my 5800 by:
- backup phone memory /c to /e
-*#7370#
- restore phone memory from /e to /c
Except for reorganizing my menus and reinstalling fring and opera mini everything was ok. But YBrowser was also missing and reinstalled that one but it pompted with "Certificate epired". Setting back the date resulted in "Cetrificate not yoe valid" How can I get around these terrible certificate check?

I'm not quite sure what Nokia think they're playing at when they create a 'backup and restore' utility. Especially when you 'restore' after doing a soft reset and none of your original apps are there "Great" Now I've had to reinstall 'sports tracker', but it doesn't show up on the phone despite appearing to succeed. Also if I install it again it prompts with "do you wish to reinstall" (this is all through the PC based Ovi application)

In an effort to "clean out" the 80 MB phone memory of my XpressMusic 5800, I think I deleted some files I should not have. For example, I thought I would delete the Skyfire and Weatherbug folders from C:, then reinstall it on the 8GB E: drive later. So I did this, then rebooted. The phone seems to be working fine, and Icons for Skyfire and Weatherbug are gone.But now I can't re-load them on the phone. I get to the Ovi store find using the default web browser, but the "Download" bar is grayed out, for both programs. I CAN download programs I have not downloaded before, but I want Skyfire and WBug. It seems either the phone or website is deciding "you already have this program, so you can't download it again". Anyone know how I can fix this?? I am using the latest S60 OS (40.2.005). Phone seems otherwise to be working fine. Any help appreciated.

The application icon for opera mini 4.2 has a small yellow key next to it. I am unable to delete the app. I can't install opera mini 5 over the top. I have tried removing it with windows explorer, nokia application manager but neither worked. I tried taking the memory card out and doing all of the above but nothing worked. Please can someone tell me how I can uninstall this application so that I can install opera 5 mini?

I have an iPhone4 having size of 8GB. When I connect iPhone to iTunes, It shows me total space 6.37 GB.
Q.1 ) If apple says 8GB, where is the remaining space then ? It should specify somewhere that 1.73 GB being used by iOS system. Why is not specified anywhere ?
Q.2 ) My iPhone shows 2.3GB space as OTHERS ! I don't understand this others space & apple has not specified what OTHERS mean !
Q.3 ) Is there a way to clean up OTHERS space ?
I tried many different ways, I removed all of my audio/sounds from my iPhone & synced. I removed my MAIL account associations & I removed most of the apps from my iPhone to recover the Space.But OTHERS is yet allocated to 2.3 GB. iOS itself taking 1.73 GB So, this way, Half of the iPhone memory is being used somehow without my knowledge.I am allowed to use only 4GB of my iPhone. Why the h--l is this ? I feel pretty bad about this.I am wondering, If I remove entire iOS5 & install iOS5 on my iPhone4 again, that should work.I have an iPhone4 which is Factory UNLOCK piece. Neither jailbroken nor unlocked by any illegal activities.
Q.4 ) How do I completly clean up my iPhone ( As I do system Format on my PC ) ?

first things first i pressed starhash0000hash into dialer and the software says its software version

when i press check for update it says i have the latest version so i just forget about it. then i got the sms and i followed to the link and i pressed download, it downloaded fine but it says "ovi maps is not compatible with your current device software version. update to the latest device software with nokia software updater on your pc" but the software on my phone says that i have the latest update so i dont understand?

The thing is, i'm running out of memory in my 5800, i had 36 mb free in my phone and after updating to ovimaps 3.3 i have 30 mb, a there's still 15 mb to be updated, my question is, can i set the updates (im updating with the app. update)to be install in the memory card instead of the phone? As you all Nokia 5800 XpressMusic gives only 81MB for its phone memory. Many of you have used the 'App. update' located in Application folder in Nokia 5800 main menu. On the first use of App. update you will find updates like
Adobe Flashlite 3.1Live TV 1.2Mail for Exchange 2.9Ovi Store 1.5Python for S60 2.0Scribble 0.2After installing all these updates, only 64 - 70 MB is left in my mobile this makes my mobile slow. While installing these updates i didnt got any pop-up to choose while installing these updates to Phone memory or Memory card i.e C dirve or E drive. can install all the above updates in Memory card that means i will get a pop-up like we get while installing 3rd party application.

I have a problem on my Nokia E63 in that if I try to install sis/sisx (in other words, Symbian) apps on my phone I get a message saying the file is corrupted, and then the installation is cancelled. If I try to uninstall any sis/sisx apps already installed, I get an error message saying, "Removing failed". The problem started for apparently no reason about 3 months after I bought the phone new, prior to which I had no problem installing/uninstalling sis/sisx apps. No problem with Java apps they install/uninstall with no difficulty -- I have verified that myself.How do I solve this problem? I have searched the discussions forums, but can't find exactly what I'm searching for.I want to soft reset the phone or reinstall the current firmware. The problem with reinstalling the firmware is that I see no option given in Nokia Suite to reinstall the current firmware. Anyone know then how to reinstall the firmware?Otherwise, my other option is to soft reset (*#7370#) (not a restore to factory settings). But I have a few questions before I do that. I understand a soft reset wipes the phone memory.1. Will a soft reset erase the apps which were on the phone when I bought it, namely QuickOffice, Adobe Reader 1.5, Nokia Maps, etc?2. i didnt use plurk , peggle and roller coaster application , i want to remove it because it waste my memory space (ram and rom) . Plurk will never die !! when i use task killer to kill it , it appear to alive when screen off .......feint~~ Useless game like peggle and roller coaster , i never used it and it just the trial version.........i want to remove these unused application . I have nokia 5800 and i like it very much... But i have a problem with it ..... the problem that when i download any thing from nokia OVI Store from my mobile like: Games, apps and videos when download finished and starting to install the games or the apps it's say's: "installation failed" and when i redownload it again nothing change and keep saying "installation failed" ........ and i noted that when i install app ( themes, apps and games ) on my mobile by ovi suite or by file manager it also say's to me "Expired Certificat" even if i signed this apps but it alwyas say's "Expired Certificat"....... for this problem i did: hard reset - format my mobile - format my sd card - update my mobile to v40 - but the problem never stops to return in a few hours ..... then i find out that when i need to install any app on my mobile (by ovi suite or ovi store in my mobile or file manager) i have to switch off the mobile and turn it on again to install what ever i want ...... so Plz help me out

I'm comparing to my 5530, On the contacts bar it nicely blends into the back ground, on the 5800 is a dirty oversized white block with the contact in the middle, no blending in or anything, same on the email, a horrible big white square, nothing blended in, I've tried different themes, and reflashed but no good.
