I have nokia 5800 bought in May 2009, and 3G signal is not being detected at all by the phone. If i keep the same SIM card on black berry 9500 or sony ericsson it showed me 3G signal properly.

I lost network coverage signal 3 days back, the sim well working in other mobile. I did soft/hard reset etc but no success. Upaded latest software even. Went to Nokia Care centre, they were also not able to repair it.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have touch screen issue with my Nokia 5800 after installing new 51.0.006 version.After instaling new FW system screen frequently goes black and strats again after 7-10 seconds. Ussually it happens when accessing my TXT messages or writing. I also formated memory card and cleard memory of the phone and installed new FW again but problem remains. When problem occures my phone screen goes black and comes back quickly. Network signal is also lost in the process. Phone has't been dropped when issue occured nor badly used. On my old FW 30 everything was working fine and I did not have this issue?

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have a Nokia E72 which was working perfectly until about a month and a half back. I might have deleted some important file on my phone, but I don't remember doing so. Anyways, now, in PC Suite mode, the computer doesn't detect my cellphone and still waits for a cellphone to be connected. This is on both Mac and PC. For Nokia Map Loader (Mac and PC) and Ovi Suite and for Nokia Media Transfer (Mac).
iSync still works as do the other modes (mass media transfer and the other ones). I've hard reset my phone. Uninstalled and re-installed all the application on the computer related to this. Even took it to a Nokia Care Point in Jeddah (my warranty is valid in Saudi Arabia only). They however were very incompetent and didn't do anything about it. I've even tested my friend's E72 and it works perfectly. So it's not the computer, rather something to do with the phone.
I usually use bluetooth on my Nokia E71 without any problem. I can stream audio from the Nokia to my Parrot Party speakers, be hands free in my car bluetooth system, can transfer files between my PC and the Nokia.However, for some odd reason, the Nokia does not detect my Microsoft Bluetooth Mobile Keyboard 6000. My laptop connects without a problem to this keyboard, but the Nokia won't.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently acquired a 32 GB class 10 Kingston microSDHC card for use with my N8.
The phone seems unable to detect it however
The card works fine on the PC, and I tried out a couple of other microSD cards (lower capacity though - 2 and 4 GB) in the phone, and they work fine as well. So it's just this combination of 32 GB card + N8 phone that seems broken.
I'm comparing to my 5530, On the contacts bar it nicely blends into the back ground, on the 5800 is a dirty oversized white block with the contact in the middle, no blending in or anything, same on the email, a horrible big white square, nothing blended in, I've tried different themes, and reflashed but no good.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently encountered issues with the photo gallery and the media player on my nokia n900 where all the photos, music and videos are not detected by them. If I were to browse to them via file manager, I can find what I'm looking for but if I go into "photos" in the main menu, it just displays "(no images)" (there are images on the phone) and in Media Player (main menu again) it just shows all 4 icons but shows "(no songs)" or "(no videos)" under music, video and shuffle all songs (again, there is music and videos on the phone). Internet radios still show 48 stations.
If I were to use file manager to open images, music or videos, they run normally as if their programs can detect them but they are still undetectable when gone into "photos" and "media player". Even with music, if I play it via file manager, hit back to go to the media player menu (with the 4 icons), it still shows no songs or videos, despite it playing one!Can anybody help me resolve this?Firmware version = 3.2010.02-8.203.1 (recently reflashed, issue was not occuring when I had the latest vodafone uk firmware version, forgot it's version number)Edit:Forgot to add, this happened gradually. These did work at first after the reflash, photo gallery went a week ago the media player stopped working today.
I just bought Nokia 5800 in America. I'm originally from the middle east and I need to write in Arabic when I chat or send messages. the problem here is that the phone reads Arabic but I can't write in Arabic. my question is "Could I use firmware of Nokia 5800 (RM-356) on Nokia 5800 (RM-428)?
If not, could anyone help me and get me the firmware that support writing in Arabic?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI live in a poor reception area on the Rogers network. I've noticed that when I go into the basement the phone drops a signal pretty quickly. I am okay with this and is expected. My issue is when I get back on to the main floor, the phone does not pick up a signal again for a long time. Sometimes even toggling airplane mode doesn't work. My wife's iPhone does the same thing.
Anybody else having this problem?
What do these Icons represent or mean, and the meaning when they change Colors from White to Blue (Status Icons). There was a GB 2.3.4 User Manual Posted on Moto's site, Unfortunately no information was included about these Items. What does it mean when all three are blue, Including the H+ icon having arrows beneath it at the same time? T-mobile asked me to send the phone back but there is a major scratch on the screen so they told me my return warranty was void now.So far I have a $400 paper weight. Anyone fix this issue?

I have found that there seems to be no correlation between the signal strength (in dBm / asu) in Settings -> About phone -> Status and the signal bars that are shown. Often the signal bars will shoot from 1 to 5 or 6 even with really low signal ( ~97 to > 100 dBm) that doesn't fluctuate.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am unable to end calls on my Lumia 800. As soon as I hit send on a phone call, whether the phone is close to my face or not, the phone goes black, and stays black until the other end hangs up.
I went into the Diagnostics to check the Proximity Sensor and it is stuck in "Detected" mode. My phone has no screen cover and is only about a month old. There's nothing obstructing the top right side corner over the sensor. This behavior didn't begin after any update, and I have no background tasks running (though I don't believe the sensor is available via the APIs anyways).
Since there's a ton of people on xda-developers with the same issue, is there any fix to this or is my phone faulty? Is Nokia aware of this and has there been any effort to contact providers or Lumia 800 customers to let them know this is a major, wide reaching problem with this phone?

I've just bought a nokia n8 but I can't put in it my sim card or my father's. It won't read it and will only display a message that reads "Offline" (hors connexion in french). I can't access my contacts. I've always had nokia phones so I don't understand why this one suddenly won't work.

When i hang around with my mates, the have normal Samsung Or LG phones and they get lets say 4 bars of signal on O2.
I will be standing with them and i get nothing. I feel like my nokia phone is just rubbish on this part.

View 21 Replies View RelatedI'm in China at the moment and having problem getting a GPS signal. The signal indicator is permanently flashing yellow which presumably means it is trying to find a signal.
Here are the facts:
1. Using Nokia Maps v3.03
2. Using prepaid China Unicom carrier (if that is relevant)
3. Have turned on all four position methods including Assisted GPS
4. GPS was working until recently (about 3 days ago). I revisited parts of Shanghai previously located fine on GPS, now unable. In Beijing at the moment and still flashing yellow.
5. It used to take about 5 minutes to get a signal from scratch (no external positioning server used as no 3G data provided on prepaid plan).
6. On the left of the signal bar is a picture of a satellite dish and two hooked lines. There is a line crossed through these two hooked lines that looks sort of like this: ≠What does this mean? (I think this is most likely the cause of my problem).
What I have tried so far (and obviously failed):
1. Leaving phone in my pocket for hours on end to pick up signal.
2. Deleting and reinstalling 3.03.
3. Installing Beta 3.04 then reverting back to 3.03 after that didn't work.
4. Every single permutation of position server and method in desperation.
5. Swapping SIM cards with another Unicom user.
My phone has no signal. You can take it outside or indoors it doesn't work. Worked before just fine.
View 7 Replies View RelatedAbout two weeks ago I had bought 2 N97 sphones, one for me and mini-one for my wife (yes I know lack of imagination)... Everything went just fine (after an software upgrade) but my smile went out when I was playing with gps signal: no more than 3-4 satellites, even on clear sky in the middle of the park (unsurrounded by buildings, trees or anything that may obstruct a gps signal). Being a new phone I thought it can be fixed by warranty but shock, they declinde any responsibility saying "It is nothing wrong with my phone so nothing to be fixed"...
