Any thoughts on why I takes my Xoom about 8-10 minutes to bootup? I will admit I have something like 400 apps on it but the main flash still has 20gb free on it. Once booted up it seems to run pretty normally. Is there a way for me to speed the boot process up?
View 15 RepliesOriginally I had a US Xoom. After the 3.1 update, so many months ago, it started rebooting almost as soon as it had booted. The reboot trigger seemed to be when it connected with the Wifi. A factory reset would cure it for a few hours but otherwise turning off the wifi was the only permanent solution.Motorola fixed it by giving me a UK Xoom - and 3.0. And it was good until the much anticipated, and delayed, 3.1 update, and it started again. After a bit i realised it was a combination of an old and slightly unreliable Wifi base-station and, I assume, a change in the Android Wifi s/w that made it less tolerant of imperfections. Now I reboot the base-station.

It is using the 3.2 system and immediately when I turned it on I noticed that the boot up screen (blue honeycomb screen) was very blurry. Once it booted up I went on the browser and noticed that some of the ad boxes on the browser, dolphin and default were fuzzy and grainy. I also noticed that videos that opened and played from web pages were a little blurry. This is not the case with my friends aseus. We did a side by side. Is this normal for the xoom? Especially the blurry boot up screen?

All of a sudden, it takes several minutes (if at all) to receive sat signals, and if it does connect it gives wildly incorrect information. I have not installed any new software and I even tried Safe Mode, no difference.

View 11 Replies View RelatedWhen I reboot my Xoom LTE, dialogue boxes don't open. The screen darkens as though one is coming, but then nothing happens.
Example: I reboot my Xoom and open my email. I click on a link. I expect to see the dialgue box asking me what web browser to use to open the link, but the screen only darkens.
Today, I decided to see if it was just me being impatient. At 1:51p, I tried to open a link after my Xoom had been rebooted around 5a. I left the Xoom alone afterwards. At 4p, it still hadn't managed to open the dialogue box. But now at 9:30p, it opens like normal.
This happens every time I restart my Xoom. I have tried to manage for it. After setting up a "Box" account last week, I loaded the tablet app, but it caused there to be a dialogue box whenever I clicked the "mail" notification, so I got rid of it. I can't just live with one web browser, though. Nor is the stock video player equipped to play all those files.

Sometimes when I text using MMS/iMessage, it takes a minute or so for the sending bar to make the swoosh noise. Kind of weird it takes that long to send a message, and it's not all the time. Is this normal? Any help would be great.

It works for 1 or 2 minutes and then it stops working for 2 or 3 minutes, this is a loop ! if I don't use for a couple of hours it will work more, about 15 minutes and then stops working !!! whats wrong with may iphone, which part is damaged ?:(( when touch screen stops working, all keys work correctly, home key & others )

I recently downloaded BBM updated version and rebooted the phone, which rendered the phone completely useless. It does not boot up, just gets stuck at the Blackberry first loading page with the status bar showing 100%.
View 1 Replies View RelatedEver since I have unlocked my bootloader I have 2 things that bug me.
1. Whenever I restart my phone it asks for my password/pin/pattern everytime before it will start. It's not a huge deal except when I restart my phone and forget I have to do that part it sits a while waiting for the password.
2. The little "warning" screen that tells me my bootloader is unlocked. Just like the way the old Nexus's were with no warning, just the little white unlocked pad lock on the google screen.
So I had music on my xoom but accidently deleted it. I tried going in my computer files to copy and paste songs from my itunes into my folder on xoom called music but says wrong format. I don't know what to do.

The browsing speed is very very slow and most sites dont open.The signal strength shown in xoom is - (-105 dBm 3 asu).Is this a issue with Android 3.2 update or my home wifi is weak? Would i be able to reset the tab to the original version?

View 12 Replies View Relatedso I accidentally wiped the entire phone and tried to install chroma rom. Now after boot I'm getting an "Encryption Unsuccessful" message. and its asking me to reset phone.
I tap the Reset Phone button and I am taken to TWRP where it asks for a decryption password. I enter "default_password" and the phone reboots with the same issue.
Damnit. Something went wrong and I don't know how to get out of it.
I used Nexus Root Toolkit 2.0.7. Bootloader Unlock went just fine. Root went wrong (I think). It just sits there at the white Google logo. It never goes to the animated loading portion of boot up.
So, I stopped the process. Then went to select Flash Stock + Unroot to hopefully start over. It still stays at the white Google logo. Instructions say it could take up to 20 minutes, but I waited for about 30 and nothing happened.
So I entered Recovery. Formatted/Cleared all data and started fresh with the unlocked boot loader. I was able to flash TWRP and actually flash a custom ROM. It loaded, but the phone boot looped when I tried to flash a custom Kernel.
Fine. I went to restore a backup I made before flashing the Kernel and it boot looped. Restoring the backup did nothing and I couldn't load anything.
Loaded up Nexus Root Toolkit again, tried to root and it just stays on the white Google logo. Tried Flash Stock + Unroot and it still sits at the Google logo.
WTF. I've been doing this for a long ass time now.
Ok so if your phone reboots or crashes, you will need to enter a password or pattern in order for the phone to work. Even alarms and everything won't work until you enter the password. That's pretty bad especially if you NEED an alarm
Some people mentioned turning it on and off and it would give you a prompt to disable it.
Has anyone had any success with using Wifi that required user certificates? I'm trying to get my Xoom to connect to the corporate network (EAP-TLS) and followed the instructions for the IPad and imported my certificated into Android correctly. But when I connect, it hangs at the connecting state for minutes, before finally giving up.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI've noticed recently that it takes a while to start loading a page from the time I click the browser icon (in homescreen tray at bottom).
From homescreen:
1) Click on browser icon in tray
2) Browser window pops up fairly quickly, says "Loading ..." in address bar for up to 30 seconds or more
3) URL of previous page then shows up in address bar (replaces "Loading ...") and page then starts to load, fairly quickly.
I have had th xprt only for 7 days so I'm still learning about it. This morning, I took 3 pictures and they all came out black and white! Before today, the phone was taking pictures in color. What happened? The only thing I've done differently was that yesterday, the phone froze for about 2 hours when I clicked on an application. I had to take the battery out to restart the phone. This morning, the phone will only take black and white pictures.

I have sort of good connection and i tested uploading pics on facebook and picasa with out any problem, but with gmail it just stays at sending and some times it even don't show that status in gmail client. There is the one shortcut that you can put in the bottom four can take you to the dialer (as long as the dialer was the last thing you used) or to your contacts (if that was the last thing you used). The one I would like to be able to put on the bottom is the dialer shortcut that can take you to the dial pad no matter what. I can put that shortcut anywhere but in the bottom four. Does anyone know of a way to put the shortcut to the direct dialer down on the bottom without having to use something like launcher pro or ADW?
View 5 Replies View RelatedEarlier today after I woke up, I was just gonna check something on my phone, when I was met with several errors saying that this and that programmed had stopped working. I chose the option "ok" on all of them because the other option report would not really get me anywhere. The thing was these errors kept coming repeating themselves (same apps getting errors repeatedly).
So after 10 min of just pressing ok on these errors I decided to reboot my phone, but when I came to the startup it stops/freezes on the SONY EXPERIA display. I can't trun it off with the on/off button, so I searched everywhere on the internet about this issue but none of the classic hold volume down + volume up + on/off button to turn it off gets me past the freeze after it goes off.
