Am I the only one that's getting a much lower signal strength?
Last week I would have my Xoom at the same spot at my desk and getting 4 out 5 bars now after the update I am getting 1 to 2 bars out of 5.
The specification of resolution for Xoom-wifi is 1280x800, but the default browser (chrome) only shows about 960x600. Contacted to Moto support, none can resolve the issue. I use a Dell laptop (which has 1280x800), than compare to Xoom. Both use Chrome as browser, they should show the same view area. But Xoom shows much less content than laptop, the roughly display resolution of Xoom is around 960x600.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy xoom has been over heating in the lower right hand corner for the entire time I've had it. I was wondering if this is at all a common problem? I've sent it in for repair once already (preparing a second trip) and that was a waste of time cause NOTHING AT ALL seem to change. So now I get the feeling that this $600 piece of electronics is soon to be a paper weight.

I've recently noticed that my xoom is losing connection to the web. In the lower right it says that I have a 3g signal, but none of the apps or browser can connect.After a manual reboot it seems to work again. I never saw this before sending it in for the 4g upgrade. Also this seems to be happening a couple times a day
View 9 Replies View RelatedI just received my Verizon Xoom back from Motorola for the 4G upgrade, the Xoom had 3G signal level before it went in for the 4G upgrade, now it shows no signal level, I checked in "Status", it shows 0dBm in signal strength and network is listed as "Unknown"..this Xoom is not activated and was not activated when it went in for the 4G upgrade, but it DID show 3G signal strength before the upgrade and "Network" was listed as "Verizon".

The browsing speed is very very slow and most sites dont open.The signal strength shown in xoom is - (-105 dBm 3 asu).Is this a issue with Android 3.2 update or my home wifi is weak? Would i be able to reset the tab to the original version?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI use my D3 to listen to music. I have the mp3s stored on a memory card in my phone. I have music version v4.1.513. Before the update the music played fine. After the update the music will skip/click when ever my cell or data signal changes. I work in a very low / no cell signal lab so the phone is continuously losing signal and getting it back. This cause the music to skip/click every time. Not related to the update my phone still does not like to play music over bluetooth and do navigation at the same time. I have the phone linked to my car radio for navigation and I listen to music from the phone. It will reboot after about 15 minutes of use.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI updated my Razr Maxx on Monday. Tried doing it sooner, but was getting the bug where it wouldn't validate the update. Ever since my signal strenght has been much worse than before. I no longer get signal in some places that I go for work that I had no issues with before. In those I still get signal I have issues connecting to data where I never did before. Even at home my signal is much worse.I realize that ICS displays the strength differently, but the way it displays should have nothing to do with actual usability. Can hardly use my phone at all anymore while working whereas I had no issues before update.

It will take two weeks for them to test. Provided there are no issues found during the testing, we expect to upgrade Motorola Xoom to Ice Cream Sandwich for both WiFi and 3G users on June 21st.About time they gave us a date. Now to see if they will meet this date.

Now my xoom boots up then restarts then tries to install the update but then displays the android logo with an esclamation mark.Either I need a way to stop the update from trying to be installed, a way for it to get installed or a way to wipe the whole tablet and start fresh.

I click update, the app shows to be downloading, finishes and then shows 'update unsuccesfull.' New applications will not download either. It's beyond me how a 6Sigma company who holds their suppliers to such strict standards can have so little regard for their customers and their level of satisfaction.With that off my chest, I wonder if any of you bright individuals can help me out. As I said I purchased my Xoom 3 days ago and after unpacking it I wanted to put my SD card in to retrieve some pictures and other files from my old tablet. I found the slot and removed the plastic piece and saw there was something written in it. It said "Replace with Micro SD only after Android system update". I thought that was odd but went ahead and started the update to 3.1. Well it has been downloading ever since and is now at a whopping 3%.
My Wi-Fi connection appears good and fast, I can download apps from the market in seconds and the web is quick.I started a service call regarding this; you can probably guess how that is going, even though they say, once you jump through all the hoops, that you will receive a reply within one business day. Apparently I am unfamiliar with what constitutes a 'business day'.
I had my Xoom bootloader unlocked with a custom ROM. I was invited to be apart of the ICS test soak and proceded to reset my device to stock 3.0.1 and locked to bootloader. I am now stuck at Android 3.0.1 and my device will not update.
