Motorola Xoom :: Finished Word Does Not Appear In Text Box
Dec 11, 2011
Swype used to work fine for me, but for the last month or so it does not work at all.I repeatedly get a pop up saying I have to upgrade (at beta.swype), or that the screen size is not right.I install again and again but still it does not work. The trace line appears on the keyboard ok, but the finished word does not appear in the text box. After finishing the word, both shift keys light up.All input modes are set to Swype, but it makes no difference.I should add that "normal" text input works ok on the Swype keyboard.
I'm having a great deal of difficulty downloading word docs on to my xoom and having the pages flip like a book. I installed kindle but can't get the applications to merge.
is there anything for xoom hc3.2 wifi only model that allows word prosscessing and storage of created docs on the xoom and printing of said docs on xoom from xoom to a kodak wifi printer?
I had to just restore my iPhone and just wondering if during the Restore Process(where only apple logo was on screen) if someone text messaged me, would it still of come through, after the Restore Process was finished? i just want to make sure i havent missed any messages.
you know when you type and you use words like "haha" it doesn't recognize it and you have an option to add the word to the list of words? where does it go?
i ask because some got added accidentally and are spelled wrong and i keep getting it as an option when i type so i want to delete the wrong words but i dont know where to go to do that.
my nokia phone had a word vault and i was able to delete them. i cant seem to find it on the HTC EVO 4G.
I use a flash based site for work. It's mostly text and there are times I need to copy text from there to paste elsewhere. Is there any way to do this since it's flash based? I can highlight the text, but I can't figure out any way to copy it once it's highlighted.
Your typing text and you want to go back a few words previous, its difficult to push close to the word to get the cursor to flash next to the word or letter your trying to fix, does anybody know an easier way to get to the word or letters your trying to add or repair. My cell phone has a rollerball that gets you there quickly, but my xoom is much harder to fix text
I can only delete text one letter at a time, using the backspace key on the xoom built in keyboard, and that seems reeeally slow to me. There must be another way, right?
Is there any way to copy and paste a full selection (not just the text)? Is there any way to create an email group with exchange and have it selectable in my contacts?
I've just got a 6303 and I want to insert words into text messages without having to turn off predictive text. My 6230i used to have an 'insert word' feature but I can't find it on this phone. Does anybody know or should I just ask the Nokia chaps?
I was having problems with the Canadian dictionary, I wanted to remove miss spelled words I accidentally added. Funny I got it! There is a bit of a bug so I thought I would past anyway. While there are no added words under Language Settings > User dictionary (if you are using the Canadian dictionary) you get this message - "You do not have words in your dictionary you can add words through the menu" but if you switch to the US Dictionary you will find he words that have been added. Note. I use the predictive text as a spell checker and I am impressed. Got to settings > Language & input >configure input methods > Settings > change Auto correction to aggressive. Only issue is added words are not added to the default language dictionary but the US one.
I failed to find a way to send a plain text email from Xoom Gmail app. Does any know if it is possible at all? Some mainling lists are not accepting HTML emails and it is very inconvenient.
I have 50 or so saved text messages on my phone that I suddenly need to get printed out to give to a conflict resolution specialist in 14 hours- who knew this would happen?I can't seem to find a way to do this other than to individually send them to my email- one at a time. There's no way I have the time or the sanity to do it this way and I'm thinking that there MUST be a faster, easier way to do this.Any suggestions?

I'm using an Xperia Pro running the latest 2.3.4 release (4.0.2.A.0.58) and have two problems with the user dictionary for text-input. I notice that if I manually add words to the user dictionary (through the settings menu -> Language & keyboard -> User dictionary -> add), then these words do not appear in the as word suggestions when I am typing. I have my setting set to the default of "substitute letters only" for the slide-out and "automatically correct words" for the on-screen keyboard. Secondly, the automatic word suggestion feature often repeatedly suggests old spelling mistakes to me which is quite annoying. I would like a feature where I can also view, edit and delete words which have been automatically added to the automatic dictionary.
So I had music on my xoom but accidently deleted it. I tried going in my computer files to copy and paste songs from my itunes into my folder on xoom called music but says wrong format. I don't know what to do.
I bought the device few days ago and on very same day updated to Android ver. 3.2. I use internet over my home Wifi and have a Netgear - WGR614 router. The browsing speed is very very slow and most sites dont open. The signal strength shown in xoom is - (-105 dBm 3 asu).Is this a issue with Android 3.2 update or my home wifi is weak? Would i be able to reset the tab to the original version?
There were 3 numbers released in July, and one on the 8th of August. That's the last. The reasonable conclusion is that the roll out of ICS is over, and if you haven't been upgraded, it's not going to happen. So, is that true? Please tell us if it is, so I can stop visiting this forum like an idiot. If we are not being upgraded, keeping us hanging on for months is not making us love Sony any more. To be honest, I didn't buy this phone with an expectation of ICS, so if it was never offered, I'd have been content. Instead, I'm grumpy. Making promises you can't keep does not win you friends.Mine is an sim-free, unlocked, UK versioned phone purchased from Amazon. I'd like to know what is happening, and if there is a problem - what it is.
Ive been having an issue with the keyboard, where sometimes if i press the space bar, it seems to think i'm holding it, and will first put a period at the end of whatever word i added, then continue spacing untill the next line. It either does this, or will not space at all. Both seem to be sparatic, and i dont notice anything in connection with when it happens yet, but its happened quite alot, and seems to have been happening more the past two days.
My curve 9360 is not even a year old yet and I have app world and when the download is finished it don't even install the app the device just cuts out and starts back up again. I don't know what to do I love my apps and I cant have them.
My SI number (1249-9322) still isn't listed and based on the last update to the list it looks a lot like the rollout has stopped with two numbers added a month ago and nothing since then.
