While writing out a text, it often keeps skipping to the next line after each word as if I had pressed return?

Is there anyway to perform a line break, or return character, while texting people? Been a couple times where I wanted to text something on different lines and didn't want to sit there using spacebar to get to a new line (waste of space/time). I know there are other messaging programs out there and that certain apps allow character returns (like Facebook for Android) because I'd rather have that than the stupid smiley faces...

View 6 Replies View RelatedIve been having an issue with the keyboard, where sometimes if i press the space bar, it seems to think i'm holding it, and will first put a period at the end of whatever word i added, then continue spacing untill the next line. It either does this, or will not space at all. Both seem to be sparatic, and i dont notice anything in connection with when it happens yet, but its happened quite alot, and seems to have been happening more the past two days.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI'm finding that when I use the magnifying glass when writing a text (so as to move cursor back to edit) my phone freezes. The only way to unfreeze is to lock the screen and go back into messages. Sometimes the text I have written will disappear and I'll have to start the message again.Â
I have re-started the phone a few times but the problem still persists. This is a new issue and didn't start immediately after a software upgrade.Â
I just upgraded from iPhone 5 to iPhone 6. I restored all my settings. I have version 8.1.1 installed. When I am typing a text out, the phone is speaking it back to me. I do not want that turned on so I can text in silence. I am not referring to speaking and then having the phone relay what I am speaking into a text. How do I stop the phone from speaking what I am texting to someone?

Since I recently upgraded, when I am typing a SMS text, if I hit the Return key to try and get to the next line, the text is being sent instead. Is there a way to turn this off? I want to be able to get to the next line, not send a text, with the return key.

My Torch runs slow most of the time especially when I am writing a text the words take at least 2 to 4 seconds to go on the screen. Also to change screen takes some time as well. Apps open slow as well. I have sufficient free internal memory not much apps just what I need to use, not much for games. What do you think may be going on with this unit. Also I try to connect to BB desktop to get updates if any and back up as frequent as possible, even battery pulls to get a clean restart.

When I send text messages to people who don't have a smartphone/iphone, if the last word of the text appears on it's own line within my message box then it will send that last word to the recipeint as a separate text message. it does this even if the text is really short and definitely hasn't reached the 140/160 character count max. I'm not sure if this occurs with those that have smartphones. Does anyone know if there is a setting I'm missing/could change to get this to stop? My fiance is getting really annoyed with it.

I have a new phone W890i and as its a UK Phone doesn't have Greek language option for text writing. My old phone was bought in Greece so obviously had it. Does anyone know how to get Greek text onto my phone via a download or something? I need it!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI cannot scroll (horizontally) in a single line text box on a web page in Safari on my iPhone when the text is longer than the text box. I am pretty sure that I used to be able to do this (before iOS 8). I don't remember the last time I tried to do this. I used to touch and hold to bring up the magnifying glass and then when I would move the cursor to the beginning/end of the text box the text would scroll. Now when I try to move the cursor to the end of the text box nothing happens. If I try to move the cursor past the end of the text box the cursor actually moves outside of the text box where the text would be. If I then start typing the text jumps so the cursor is at the end of the text box. This doesn't seem to work to get back to the beginning of the text. Â

i ask because some got added accidentally and are spelled wrong and i keep getting it as an option when i type so i want to delete the wrong words but i dont know where to go to do that.
my nokia phone had a word vault and i was able to delete them. i cant seem to find it on the HTC EVO 4G.
Is this the same as an upgrade swap? I actually talked to ATT via online chat, and they said once an iPhone 4 is ordered, its stuck to that line. But im pretty sure thats not true.So I want to add a line with iPhone 4 then once I receive her, put it on my primary line, use a dummy phone on the new line, and cancel data on the new line. It works out because I need a new line anyway, I have unlimited data on my primary line, and it saves me some $$ in getting the iPhone at full discount price.
The only thing I was worried about was being able to cancel data, but the ATT rep said I can cancel data at any time. And to order online, I would need to add the single line to my account and order it, once I receive it then I can switch to family plan.Will I need to do the same call ATT and give them IMEI's of everything to swap? Anyone done something similar?
I can't seem to make an "enter" in my texts for my 8530. What is the button? The button for the "enter" on the old Curve was the curved arrow on the right, but now, that button is used to actually send out the text. Where is the enter button?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSwype used to work fine for me, but for the last month or so it does not work at all.I repeatedly get a pop up saying I have to upgrade (at beta.swype), or that the screen size is not right.I install again and again but still it does not work.The trace line appears on the keyboard ok, but the finished word does not appear in the text box. After finishing the word, both shift keys light up.All input modes are set to Swype, but it makes no difference.I should add that "normal" text input works ok on the Swype keyboard.

Add a new family line and get an iPhone 4 for 199 and port out your old line and get an early termination fee of around $100 since she has had the phone for a year. Therefore the cost of a new phone is $299. AT&T said that I would have to wait 60 days to port the line back in otherwise it would be considered a win back.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using an Xperia Pro running the latest 2.3.4 release (4.0.2.A.0.58) and have two problems with the user dictionary for text-input. I notice that if I manually add words to the user dictionary (through the settings menu -> Language & keyboard -> User dictionary -> add), then these words do not appear in the as word suggestions when I am typing. I have my setting set to the default of "substitute letters only" for the slide-out and "automatically correct words" for the on-screen keyboard. Secondly, the automatic word suggestion feature often repeatedly suggests old spelling mistakes to me which is quite annoying. I would like a feature where I can also view, edit and delete words which have been automatically added to the automatic dictionary.
