I have the Motorola Bluetooth keyboard and there seen to be a delay in the typing showing on the screen. mainly while in the browser. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a simple fix? Am I missing something? I do not remember this with 3.0.1 but I am not sure.
I have the Motorola keyboard and MS 5000 BT mouse. They each work well individually, however when used together, the keyboard frequently disconnects. When I go to a text field, the software/screen keyboard comes up instead of using the hardware keyboard. If hit a few keys on the hardware keyboard, then it seems to reconnect and I can continue using it. It disconnects again once I leave a text field. I'm using a 3G version of the Xoom, but without 3G activated, so just using WiFi.
I got a Wifi Xoom with 3.0.1 stock firmware (like if I could have it in any other version without voiding warranty) and I'm having some problems with my Moto BT keyboard. It connects well, pairs well, types well and without lag, but from time to time, when writing things longer than an URL or a login (for example an email) one of the letters typed repeats and repeats like holding it's key. It's quite annoying, and one of the times, the repeated key was backspace, so it erased all of the text.
I bought the device few days ago and on very same day updated to Android ver. 3.2. I use internet over my home Wifi and have a Netgear - WGR614 router. The browsing speed is very very slow and most sites dont open. The signal strength shown in xoom is - (-105 dBm 3 asu).Is this a issue with Android 3.2 update or my home wifi is weak? Would i be able to reset the tab to the original version?
So I am a total noob here, I purchased my XOOM 3 days ago and already I am totally frustrated and annoyed with Motorola and there customer service, or the lack there of. It's beyond me how a 6Sigma company who holds their suppliers to such strict standards can have so little regard for their customers and their level of satisfaction. With that off my chest, I wonder if any of you bright individuals can help me out. As I said I purchased my Xoom 3 days ago and after unpacking it I wanted to put my SD card in to retrieve some pictures and other files from my old tablet. I found the slot and removed the plastic piece and saw there was something written in it. It said "Replace with Micro SD only after Android system update". I thought that was odd but went ahead and started the update to 3.1. Well it has been downloading ever since and is now at a whopping 3%.
My Wi-Fi connection appears good and fast, I can download apps from the market in seconds and the web is quick.I started a service call regarding this; you can probably guess how that is going, even though they say, once you jump through all the hoops, that you will receive a reply within one business day. Apparently I am unfamiliar with what constitutes a 'business day'.
I have just updated to 3.1 and my tablet has now slowed right down. It now takes time for the tablet to realise I am trying to switch screen if I try and swipe between home screens, but the graphics are faster than previously which is odd. The major problem for me is that typing has slowed down and become less responsive. I just tried to buy an app from the Android market, and it couldn't keep up with me putting my card number in. I then tried to type in other applications to see if it was just typing generally that was causing the problem which it is. Restart did not fix it either. This effectively makes the tablet unusable for me as the typing speed is unreasonably slow.
On occasion, when I hold my Xoom so that it is tilted backwards (i.e. I'm lying down and the Xoom is held in front of me slightly tiled back) the screen becomes totally unresponsive to taps. If I tilt the screen forward and retap it seems to work fine or if I press the standby/power button on and off it seems to reset and work fine. This happens about 25% of the time and once it starts it continues until I reboot.
BT keyboard with touchpad. A keyboard is nice, but I would rather not drag a mouse around as well? I know that fruitpads have had problems with some of the keyboard touchpads. Do they work on Xoom w/Honeycomb?
I seem to have this keyboard lag when typing in text box in the browser. So far I've tried this very forum, composing new message on gmail, and on Facebook.
I have noticed some interesting quirks and am hoping it is an issue of operator error. Some text input fields in web sessions force all uppercase letters and disable the backspace key when using the BT keyboard. While I type this with the famed MOT BT keyboard I had to copy and paste the text into the title in order to get lower case letters. Also, in this message field I am unable to type a nine or open parens but can type both in the title field. Also the arrow keys act like tab keys and will not move the cursor. It is especially frustrating as anytime I try to send a message in Facebook the keyboard forces all caps and disables the back button. Not good for someone like me that types 100WPM with 88 mistakes.
Also when I turn on my Miscrosoft BT 5000 mouse the keyboard starts to go nuts with repeating keys and constantly disconnecting. When I turn the moust off the keyboard is okay except for the issues listed above.
I'm typing the numerical web address for my media and noted there isn't a colon. i swear there was one before the 3.1 update. Is it gone, or is it so obvious i can't see it?
I've had my xoom for quite some time now and this has bothered me from day one and I can't figure out how to make it stop. On the keyboard, if you hover ever so slightly too long over the "s" or the "e" or any number of letters on the keyboard the xoom changes that to a special character. How do you turn this blasted thing off. I NEVER use those, will NEVER need them and don't want the keyboard to do it.
I purchased the Motorola Full Size Wireless Keyboard (model:89451N) to use with my Droid Razr Maxx Hd to make texting and sending emails easier. The problem is that when conneting keyboard to phone the phone will restart 4 out of 5 times. Once the phone has rebooted it is connected but this is becoming very frustrating. This is the only wireless keyboard that I've tried but I hoped to have little compatability issues being that both handset and keyboard are made by Motorola.
I have been trying out the new Bose Soundlink with my Droid X and they are really cool. Problem is I bought them to go with my Xoom and when I try to connect to Bose SoundLink it fails to find it. Normally I would blame the speaker but since it worked with my Droid X I tend to think that it may be the operating system HoneyComb.
i have a xoom wifi/3g (not using a 3g plan) honeycomb up grade and i am having problems with bluetooth tethering. i am able to start the bluetooth tethering and everything works well fo r a little while. i am using my droid x2 and the sleep options are all off on noth my xoom and droid x 2. The bt connection does not drop but the bt tethering does eventhough the device bt tool box is saying the device i can unpair and pair again and the bt internet does not work. the only way it comes back is if i reboot the xoom which sucks.
how to get a Bluetooth alarm app working on the Xoom? Something that connects the Xoom to my phone via Bluetooth and alerts me if the Xoom gets far enough away to lose the Bluetooth connection. I want to use something like 'StayCloseToMe' (in the Market) but I don't see a way to keep the Xoom connecteced to my phone. It doesn't stay connected to the phone like a headset would.
I have problems when watching video with sound out via bluetooth. Sometimes the playback begins to stutter severely and becomes unwatchable. The problem was present already with Honeycomb. I hoped it would go away with ICS, but it didn't. I am wondering if others have the same problem and if they have found a solution? The problem is intermittent. If I restart my Xoom playback is usually fine. Sometimes it is possible to watch a full movie, but usually the playback fails after a while. Or just as I start playback. I have tried several different apps for video playback and also tried with wifi shut off. No difference. I have used both a Jawbone Jambox and a Belkin bluetooth receiver. No difference. Once the problem appears, only a reboot will fix it. However playback over wire or internal speakers is still fine. Even after a reboot the problem will return after a while. Typically as playback is started. I have the Jawbone less than two meters away. Using a wired connection to the jawbone or headphones is an easy workaround, and what I normally do, but it would be nice if BT worked with video playback.
I use to be able to use bluetooth to access the internet over the cell network on the xoom with my old Droid X.I am also able to do this with my wife's Droid 2.On the Bionic I am not able to get it to work.Is this being blocked?I have wifi off on the xoom and Bionic like I have to do with the other phones, but I never get the bluetooth internet connection.I am connect to the Bionic via bluetooth but it never establishes the internet connection.
Anyone else has a Motorola Roadster and played music over the bluetooth and FM transmitter?Played music perfectly with the DroidX but extremely noisy and lower volume with the Xoom.
I found out by accident that I could connect my Xoom to my Droid x2 by Bluetooth and get my wifi only Xoom on the I internet. The only problem is that it is not consistent. Drops connections then hard to reconnect. Have to power down to get it reconneced.
I have a tethering plan with my blackberry. I would like to tether my xoom wifi to my blackberry phone via bluetooth. Im able to do this with my laptop with no issues. I purchased the WIFI version with the idea of being able to use tethering while away from usable wifi.
Maybe I am trying to do something impossible, but I would like to pair my Droid Razr with my Xoom FE using Bluetooth. They successfully pair but will not connect. I basicaly want to share my phone's data without paying for the wifi hotspot or rooting the phone.
Since the update, the bluetooth tether connection seems to stagnate after inactivity and will no longer be usable. I have atempted to repair, disconnect, etc. in other words I have tried everything to reconnect after the connection to my phone stops working.
