View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the Motorola keyboard and MS 5000 BT mouse. They each work well individually, however when used together, the keyboard frequently disconnects. When I go to a text field, the software/screen keyboard comes up instead of using the hardware keyboard. If hit a few keys on the hardware keyboard, then it seems to reconnect and I can continue using it. It disconnects again once I leave a text field. I'm using a 3G version of the Xoom, but without 3G activated, so just using WiFi.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI got a Wifi Xoom with 3.0.1 stock firmware (like if I could have it in any other version without voiding warranty) and I'm having some problems with my Moto BT keyboard. It connects well, pairs well, types well and without lag, but from time to time, when writing things longer than an URL or a login (for example an email) one of the letters typed repeats and repeats like holding it's key. It's quite annoying, and one of the times, the repeated key was backspace, so it erased all of the text.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI bought the device few days ago and on very same day updated to Android ver. 3.2. I use internet over my home Wifi and have a Netgear - WGR614 router. The browsing speed is very very slow and most sites dont open. The signal strength shown in xoom is - (-105 dBm 3 asu).Is this a issue with Android 3.2 update or my home wifi is weak? Would i be able to reset the tab to the original version?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I am a total noob here, I purchased my XOOM 3 days ago and already I am totally frustrated and annoyed with Motorola and there customer service, or the lack there of. It's beyond me how a 6Sigma company who holds their suppliers to such strict standards can have so little regard for their customers and their level of satisfaction. With that off my chest, I wonder if any of you bright individuals can help me out. As I said I purchased my Xoom 3 days ago and after unpacking it I wanted to put my SD card in to retrieve some pictures and other files from my old tablet. I found the slot and removed the plastic piece and saw there was something written in it. It said "Replace with Micro SD only after Android system update". I thought that was odd but went ahead and started the update to 3.1. Well it has been downloading ever since and is now at a whopping 3%.
My Wi-Fi connection appears good and fast, I can download apps from the market in seconds and the web is quick.I started a service call regarding this; you can probably guess how that is going, even though they say, once you jump through all the hoops, that you will receive a reply within one business day. Apparently I am unfamiliar with what constitutes a 'business day'.
I have just updated to 3.1 and my tablet has now slowed right down. It now takes time for the tablet to realise I am trying to switch screen if I try and swipe between home screens, but the graphics are faster than previously which is odd. The major problem for me is that typing has slowed down and become less responsive. I just tried to buy an app from the Android market, and it couldn't keep up with me putting my card number in. I then tried to type in other applications to see if it was just typing generally that was causing the problem which it is. Restart did not fix it either. This effectively makes the tablet unusable for me as the typing speed is unreasonably slow.
View 3 Replies View RelatedOn occasion, when I hold my Xoom so that it is tilted backwards (i.e. I'm lying down and the Xoom is held in front of me slightly tiled back) the screen becomes totally unresponsive to taps. If I tilt the screen forward and retap it seems to work fine or if I press the standby/power button on and off it seems to reset and work fine. This happens about 25% of the time and once it starts it continues until I reboot.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am coming to the conclusion that the perfect browser for the XOOM does not exist.Dolphin HD seems to be using the same flakey rendering as the stock browser.Skyfire is also using the same flakey engine and I believe that is because Flash won't work with anything else.Opera is extremely stable but won't allow me to post on these forums and they have removed flash support because they cannot make it work right.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have been trying out different types of internet browsers: the native version, opera, firefox, dolphin and skyfire.Reason being is because I am investigating the cause of the random reboots my device is facing.I've tried to reduce all settings: No bluetooth, removed syncing, no location information. Now the device is able to do most basic things and not experiencing any reboots. However as soon as I start web surfing it's just a matter of minutes before the whole tablet crashes. What web browser do you think (or know) will provide the most stable experience for the xoom 2?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have noticed some interesting quirks and am hoping it is an issue of operator error. Some text input fields in web sessions force all uppercase letters and disable the backspace key when using the BT keyboard. While I type this with the famed MOT BT keyboard I had to copy and paste the text into the title in order to get lower case letters. Also, in this message field I am unable to type a nine or open parens but can type both in the title field. Also the arrow keys act like tab keys and will not move the cursor. It is especially frustrating as anytime I try to send a message in Facebook the keyboard forces all caps and disables the back button. Not good for someone like me that types 100WPM with 88 mistakes.
Also when I turn on my Miscrosoft BT 5000 mouse the keyboard starts to go nuts with repeating keys and constantly disconnecting. When I turn the moust off the keyboard is okay except for the issues listed above.
I'm typing the numerical web address for my media and noted there isn't a colon. i swear there was one before the 3.1 update. Is it gone, or is it so obvious i can't see it?

View 8 Replies View RelatedThis only came about since my involuntary OS upgrade last week. When texting or filling out forms on browser, whenever I use the "alt" key (as in alt+A for an '!'), or a (.) key (the period key) or some others... the keyboard freezes and the browser or text messaging is put into a "Force Close" or "Wait" situation. Also, the battery gets really hot - to the touch - when this occurs.

Xoom tablet with Android 3.2.1 With the Xoom display horizontal, when you touch (click) some links in the browser the screen just goes dim and does nothing. If you then rotate the Xoom to cause it to display in the vertical mode you can then see the popup window and interact with it.Those popup windows are off the bottom of the screen when in horizontal display mode. Because the popup window has taken the focus away from the main page you cannot even scroll the page up to reveal the popup. It just seems like the Xoom browser has dimmed and frozen. An example link is if you do a Google search for a town, say Sheridan WY, and on the search results page touch (click) the result that shows a Google map of the town. The Xoom's browser will dim and nothing will happen. If you rotate the Xoom to vertical you ca then see the popup.

If I choose OK, market apps open and one can purchase the app.I do have the popup blocker set to enabled and have the the UA string set to Deskto. t's annoying, and you gotta pay for the tapatalk app too. Is there a way to block this pop up from happening?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 3G Verizon Xoom on 3.1. I've noticed an issue since I got the tablet a few months ago; every once in a while, when opening a URL from outside the browser, the screen will flicker, like the connection to the LCD has gone bad. It is corrected by tilting the tablet to change the orientation from landscape to portrait, and then everything is fine. The issue only happens when opening the browser from inside another app - by clicking on a link in the gmail app, for instance.
View 9 Replies View RelatedEvery morning the Dolphin browser pops up a message about backing up bookmarks to the SD card and asks if I want to have a try. It mentions backing up to the SD card and since there is no SD card in the Xoom ( although they call memory SD card ), are they talking about backing up to an actual SD card or are they referring to what shows in the Xoom as sdcard?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm a web developer wanting to debug web pages inside the Xoom web browser.I have a particular issue in which I have a page with a number of <select> lists, the first two lists allow me to choose values but the remaining lists do not - even though I know the lists contain values. I'm guessing that this could be a WebKit bug but am hoping there are some simple debug tools to assist me, similar to Google Chrome, but I have no idea where to find them. about:debug doesn't help much and view-source: doesn't work.
Have tried using Opera Mobile browser and the lists works without a problem and have tried Firefox but this was too buggy to test. Dolphin seems to exhibit the same issues as the default Xoom browser so I'm gessing it uses the same version of WebKit.Getting this working is a crucial part of my system and I do not want to recommend that the customer use iPads to get the most reliable web functionality. So, are there any debugging tools for web pages available on the Xoom?
