Experiencing random screen refreshes on a XOOM WiFi? Recently my XOOM has started to blink, the screen will go black for 1/2 second then come back. This happens when doing anything, games, browsing, or just sitting at a home screen. The XOOM is up to date with 4.1.2. I have not done a factory reset yet and would like to avoid it.
View 1 RepliesSometime, when I push the power button to return from standby, the screen turns black (lighted but displaying nothing, the buttons lighten as well but are inactive).That phenomenon seems to happen randomly. Then I have to push the power button again to turn the phone in standby mode again, and push the button again, after what the phone displays the unlock screen.i never encountered that problem with custom roms, until I re-installed the official stock rom which I downloaded from htc website.Some information about my mobile:

This was mentioned in other posts but I can't find it anymore but since the upgrade to 3.1 I am getting random long press pop ups. I initially thought it was better after changing the long press from short to long but it really doesn't seem to have any direct affect on the random ones that are occuring.

I'm having troubles with the calendar application on my N97. When I try to run it, the screen just refreshes and that's it, the app doesn't run at all. This is the case with both homescreen shortcut and actual calendar icon in the menu. I've restarted the phone a couple of times and it didn't work.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThis problem only started for me after I installed the 3.1 update, so I don't know what else to blame it on. Every other day, or sometimes immediately after I do app updates I get unclearable app notifications in my bar. They look like notes with a gear on it. If you check it, it shows only the icon for the app it comes from & will open, but no info. if you click on it, all it does is open the app. But then it won't clear like it should. At first I thought it was just a problem with my GTD apps, because I know some like Astrid allow you take make 'hard' notifications, kinda like sticky notes. But even after I uninstalled those, others would have the same problem. Finally, and to make it worse, shutting down & resetting used to clear them, now even that is not working.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a XFE and have been having multiple issues with apps and the browser randomly shutting down. There doesn't seem to be any reason for this. The battery is not low, I'm not doing the same thing each time, I don't have multiple tabs open (although I have heard this tablet is wonderful at multi tasking). Also at random times I will have an app open and it will pop up with a message about force closing. This has happened way to often for me to continue to tolerate this.
Did I get a bad tablet perhaps? I want to keep this tablet? The rep was at best buy when I was looking at these and convinced me it was the lastest and greatest, however other tablets do not seem to have this issue .
I just got a Xoom and have been getting constant random reboots. I can't repeat exactly what is causing it; it seems to be mostly random - e.g. web browsing, reading a PDF, browsing the market, etc. I've tried to do a factory hard reset twice already, but still get the random rebooting. Sometimes it will do a full reboot where I see the Motorola logo and other times it will sort of do a half-reboot and I only see the boot animation video and not the Motorola logo.

Turns out that VZ has coverage (no doubt thru a CDMA Roaming Partner there) in Metro Mexico City. I knew it was expensive as hell ($5.20/MB!) so I had no expectation of really ever using it, but just for grits and shins I turned on 3G to see how well it worked. It was fairly fast, and I ran up a MB just messing around for 10 mins. I guess it would have been OK in an emergency situation, but it's appalling how much the carriers can screw you- I find it hard to believe that VZ is being charged ANYWHERE near $5/MB- and as with many things, the reason they do is "Because They Can".
- I brought my Roku (network-content streaming) Box along, even though I had a feeling the services I use (Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Instant Videos) would be blocked when coming from non-US networks, as indeed they were. But using my Xoom, I was still able to at least watch my Slingbox one night- by hooking up the Hotel's TV to my Xoom via the HDMI connection, then using my Logitech DiNovo Mini combo mouse/keyboard to navigate. I was able to catch some shows on my DVR in Los Angeles, 1700 miles away
So more odd behavior from this possibly defective xoom i got yesterday. After a night of charging, i woke up to find my home screen filled with widgets that I didnt put there.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Turbo has, for some reason, halted all Gmail related activity. As of this morning all was well. As of the last few hours, all is NOT well.
I no longer:
hear my chosen (or ANY) notification sound upon delivery
receive the on-screen notification via Moto Display (when screen is dark)
receive the on-screen notification in my notification bar
see the unread mail count (TeslaUnread Plugin) on the Gmail app icon
receive new email messages automatically PERIOD.
The only way I can know I have a new message in my inbox is if I open the Gmail app and click to manually refresh!
My Turbo did download and apply two app updates today: Golden Glass Icon Pack HD and Motorola Camera. I find it highly unlikely, but are one of these responsible?
I still do not know this phone I inside and out.. so any areas or settings to check (and how to check them) that you believe may be causing my Gmail Meltdown!!
I have a iphone 3g and I am having big problems accessing my apps. Everytime I go to use a app e.g facebook or ebay the scrieen goes black and then goes back to the home screen. It also seems to be taking forever to got to make a phone call. What can I do as one of the main reasons for getting this phone was using the apps

So I picked up 2 Photons yesterday from RadioShack. Overall, I am very impressed with the phone, however my wife's is randomly rebooting, and will not turn back on without disconnecting the battery or plugging back into the wall. I have seen a few reports of this online and was just wondering if there is a fix or if I should take it in for a trade? Kind of worried if mine will start doing this also. No SD card installed, no taskmanager, not rooted, etc

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been getting a black screen (while iPhone still works) over and over again, now everytime it happens I just go and reset the thing pressing the power and home button at the same time for a few seconds. The fist few times it worked but now it doesnt seem to anymore, I just see the apple logo, then nothing. So I decided to go ahead and restore it on iTunes. Well, I found that I couldn't do it nor back it up without turning "Find My iPhone" off. But I couldn't see the screen, so I went ahead and took screen shots (home and power button) after every swipe I blindly took on the screen, while having connected the iPhone to my mac and watched the pictures on until I finally turned "Find My iPhone" off and entered the Apple ID password. Once I finally got to do the restore. The screen came back to life and was working perfectly. But I decided to restore de backup and then again the screen went black. What could this be?Â

Black screen with flashing blue light and can not hard reset. tried all combinations with up, power, down, and home keys. The light was flashing all night and turned off this morning. did not have on a charger hoping the battery would die to turn on. Phone never reads a connection when trying to charge. don't know if i have the one black screen of death that can not turn back on. I have 2 or 3 trips of pictures that i don't know if i backed up.

I decided to replace the lost device with an iPhone and at the same time purchased a XOOM. When I initially signed on to the XOOM and connected the same Google account, low and belhold some, but not all, of my DroidPro apps/settings were restored to my XOOM. Initially, not such a big deal, but now that I have been having problems with my Xoom freezing and having to perform countless Hard Factory Resets [URL] I have a feeling that the restore operation is getting confused between the old DroidPro backup and the new Xoom backup. Furthermore, I recently signed up for AppBrain [URL] to track/restore my apps each time I had to do a reset. When I signed up for AppBrain, it listed both the DroidPro and Xoom in my Android Market data...How do I tell Google/Verison/Android Market that the DroidPro data should be cleaned from the system?

View 1 Replies View RelatedFacebook official app is back in the marketplace, still force closes when you open 'friends' page, I have noticed that the old version is back not the the new interface.
Update: The new interface is working now, had some trouble update the feeds first, I think it was because of the newly implemented autostart of gps location, but after a manual force stop, it works.
My xoom was returned with some marks on the plastic back piece (along the top edge). These were definetely not there when i sent it to Motorola. Will Moto do anything to remedy this?

View 7 Replies View Relatedthe one thing that bugs the crap out of me is that the hard grey back cover doesnt line up flush with the softer top black peice where the speakers and camera are. it came out of the box this way. its only on the right side though (if im looking at the screen). it is perfectly fine on the side where the camera and power button are and fine in the center.i know to some this may seem trivial especially if you dont have this issue but i feel like i paid A LOT for this device and should have the quality build that was intended by motorola and was expected by me. the consumer.is this something that i could send in to moto to get adjusted? am i better off trying to "fix" it myself? am i alone in this issue?
View 1 Replies View RelatedHad phone just over a month. In the last few days, it's been randomly activating/interacting with apps on my screen. Normally, it's a single 'touch'. On some occasions it's a flurry of touch events that I had to power the phone off. a couple of spots seem to have a higher tendecy.
System version 55.13.25.MB865.ATT.en.US Have not rooted it.
My phone randomly wakes to the lock screen without me pushing anything. I have been nothing but frustrated since I got ICS. I have done everything including a factory data reset.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've noticed a intermittent random black line flickering issue with my Z5's camera... it has only happened twice so far and only stays on the screen for about 10 seconds when the camera is first loaded up (not every time though). Basically flicking black lines appear on the screen and also appear in video playback / photos, but as I say this has only happened twice so far and only lasts for about the first 10 seconds the camera is opened.

For an example, i just took this photo and you can see the black lines appearing on the screen. The problem did stop within about 10 seconds and I could take photos without the flicker, but it was just a strange thing to appear.I do have a SD card in the phone, but photos are being saved to the phones internal storage.I tried taking the photo with superio auto and also swapping to manual.. and the flicker initially persisted across both modes.
I have commented on this many times.. Am I the only one that is seeing this happen.. It doesn't always do it but it will do it in the stock browser and Dolphin HD to.. Instead of the cursor moving backwards to remove misspellings it moves forward.. I've yet found a browser that works with G-Mail properly..Stock browser looks like i'm in a mobile mode but no longer see the dbug function any more.. It looks the same on the browser as using the gmail stock app that came with the Xoom... I hate it.. Not a real Gmail experience to me, too many functions missing.. Anyone have any suggestions as to seeing and using gmail on the Xoom as it would look and perform on the laptop.. HD Browser won't even allow me to reply to an email.. It won't pop up the keyboard no matter what i try, looks good on the browser untill you touch something then everything starts shaking and jerking around
