Facebook official app is back in the marketplace, still force closes when you open 'friends' page, I have noticed that the old version is back not the the new interface.
Update: The new interface is working now, had some trouble update the feeds first, I think it was because of the newly implemented autostart of gps location, but after a manual force stop, it works.
First post, as I'm an Android developer, but just got my first phone with Motoblur. So far, I have to say that the Blur interface has been disappointing as a power user, relative to the stock interface (many things that the stock Android does well, Blur doesn't, imho). But, that's not why I'm here...I'm here because I've noticed, under the new Bionic, that the official Facebook for Android app doesn't allow me to use it to setup a sync account. In the accounts menu, if I click "Add an account," it displays the list of possible account types. Clicking on the FB for Android account type appears to do nothing. Also, for any other apps that didn't come stock with the phone, they also can't seem to setup new accounts. Twitter is the only exception for this behavior. The official Twitter for Android app does appear to bring up a next screen when you choose that type.
Is it that Twitter is implementing some API the rest are missing? All of the example sync adapters I can find have this behavior where nothing happens when you try to use their functionality of "Add an account." Why is selecting those account types a no-op instead of bringing up the usual credential input screen that normally follows selecting a type of account?
Is there any way to put Android on your phone with out an SD card. Is there any way to update the kind of Facebook that is on the phone since the Marketplace is closed. Is there any way to take away that annoying pop up after I send a SMS that says, "Message sent" which gets irritating having to close every time I send one. Is there any program that I can download which acts like a Marketplace other then the Windows default one that is closed. And last of all, is there any way I can get flash player.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI notice that there is an option under Settings - Accounts & Sync to add a facebook account but when you click on Add account and select Facebook nothing happens. I have my Facebook account setup under the Facebook app and I am able to use Facebook as an option when I share photos but I am looking for the ability to have Facebook contacts show in the Contacts. I have an Evo 4G and I have the ability to have my Facebook contacts included with two Google accounts (work and personal) and would like to do so on my tablet as well. Is this just a feature of my HTC phone or a failing of Honeycomb 3.1 that I'm unaware of or is this specific to the Xoom FE?

The black screen comes up wtih the picture on it, you can't scroll to see comments, or make a comment, it's VERY hard to hit the x to close that window as well.A Is there some work around for it? It drives me nuts and this is NOT a 3.1 issue,This only happens in the browswer version of Facebook, which I way prefer over the Facebook app.

Facebook recently made some changes to its application and it won't show up any longer on the Honeycomb market. If you have it on there already it should work.
But I suggest you given FriendMe a try. It's a very nice Facebook app that takes advantage of some Honeycomb capabilites. I use it over the regular Facebook app (mine still works) despite a few bugs.

I decided to replace the lost device with an iPhone and at the same time purchased a XOOM. When I initially signed on to the XOOM and connected the same Google account, low and belhold some, but not all, of my DroidPro apps/settings were restored to my XOOM. Initially, not such a big deal, but now that I have been having problems with my Xoom freezing and having to perform countless Hard Factory Resets [URL] I have a feeling that the restore operation is getting confused between the old DroidPro backup and the new Xoom backup. Furthermore, I recently signed up for AppBrain [URL] to track/restore my apps each time I had to do a reset. When I signed up for AppBrain, it listed both the DroidPro and Xoom in my Android Market data...How do I tell Google/Verison/Android Market that the DroidPro data should be cleaned from the system?

View 7 Replies View RelatedExperiencing random screen refreshes on a XOOM WiFi? Recently my XOOM has started to blink, the screen will go black for 1/2 second then come back. This happens when doing anything, games, browsing, or just sitting at a home screen. The XOOM is up to date with 4.1.2. I have not done a factory reset yet and would like to avoid it.
View 1 Replies View Relatedthe one thing that bugs the crap out of me is that the hard grey back cover doesnt line up flush with the softer top black peice where the speakers and camera are. it came out of the box this way. its only on the right side though (if im looking at the screen). it is perfectly fine on the side where the camera and power button are and fine in the center.i know to some this may seem trivial especially if you dont have this issue but i feel like i paid A LOT for this device and should have the quality build that was intended by motorola and was expected by me. the consumer.is this something that i could send in to moto to get adjusted? am i better off trying to "fix" it myself? am i alone in this issue?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have commented on this many times.. Am I the only one that is seeing this happen.. It doesn't always do it but it will do it in the stock browser and Dolphin HD to.. Instead of the cursor moving backwards to remove misspellings it moves forward.. I've yet found a browser that works with G-Mail properly..Stock browser looks like i'm in a mobile mode but no longer see the dbug function any more.. It looks the same on the browser as using the gmail stock app that came with the Xoom... I hate it.. Not a real Gmail experience to me, too many functions missing.. Anyone have any suggestions as to seeing and using gmail on the Xoom as it would look and perform on the laptop.. HD Browser won't even allow me to reply to an email.. It won't pop up the keyboard no matter what i try, looks good on the browser untill you touch something then everything starts shaking and jerking around

There are lots of apps in the Marketplace that I had on my Photon that I cannot find for the Admiral. For instance, Words with Friends. I had it on the Photon but can't find it now with the Admiral.

I would love to be proven wrong on this point, and see some official radio support from moto, but this is the only thing that makes sense to me. mu $.02.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've tried installing the official Motorola update 4 times and every time it is unsuccessful. The update says it is available for download, then downloads and asks to be installed. I choose to install it and the phone reboots. It then goes to the progress screen, gets to about 40%, and then shows the triangle with exclamation mark inside of it. Then the phone reboots and pops up a message saying update failed.
I have done 2 full factory updates (erased all memory), called Sprint, talked to a Motorola level 2 tech, and gotten nothing. No one has even tried to troubleshoot this issue or recommend anything.
I have the Motorola Electrify and about 1.5 weeks ago, I noticed the the orange triangle with exclamation and when I pulled down the notification, the only thing that it stated was "download will start in Wi-Fi. When I would access "settings / system updates" it stated an update was currently being downloaded". Like I said, 1.5 weeks and nothing changed. I had also been experiencing some slow down in the speed, and after reading the many posts on the updates and also slow downs, it was suggested that a system refresh might do the trick. Once refreshed, it was suggested to then access system updates and try to download the update again.
The refresh took care of the update being froze up, and I went back in and tried to download the update again, but to no avail. It froze it up again.I also tried a workaround that I read about by going to settings l data deliver l social applications l sync over wifi, but it still hasn't done anything. I have Wi-Fi in my house but the strength may not be strong enough.
I'm going to run a 5k this weekend. Is there some way to download the official route,rather than trying to create it myself?

I'm going with Motorola because it's about unlocking the Milestone to use elsewhere.Please post in here if you obtained an unlock code for a Telus Milestone and it worked. Even better would be a screenshot or photo/video of the screen, showing your Milestone is running on a non-Telus operator (double bonus if it shows 3G/HSPA reception). Let us know if there were any specific options you had to choose when buying the unlock code to make sure it's for the correct Milestone.
Please *also* post in here if the unlock code *didn't* work and let us know who sold you the lemon.
Not sure about Droid 3 exactly, but my XT860 which is essentially the same phone has official FM radio support. It is not in plain sight though - FM radio is accessible via the Music application - the connected music player. When you start it, and pick "radio" you get presented with option to use online radio (shoutcast) or FM radio
