My only complaint about about Facebook, is viewing pictures. The black screen comes up wtih the picture on it, you can't scroll to see comments, or make a comment, it's VERY hard to hit the x to close that window as well.A Is there some work around for it? It drives me nuts and this is NOT a 3.1 issue,This only happens in the browswer version of Facebook, which I way prefer over the Facebook app.
When I go to m.facebook.com, and I want to view a picture, the picture is really reaaalyyy small, because the resolution of the E6 is very high. I had an e72, and the pictures were bigger on this phone because of the lower resolution, but it's better to view the pictures big.Is there a possible solution to enlarge the picture or something, or lower the resolution to view the pictures. I have tried the social app on the E6, but that app loads the pictures on facebook very slow, it's practically useless.
I would like to view documents on the Xoom. Most are PDF, some are Word. I moved quite a few documents onto my new external SD card in hopes of viewing them as needed. I am able to view small PDF documents (86k) but when I try to view larger ones(~200k 7pages) I get "Out of Memory" error. I am currently using Acrobat Reader as my default PDA app. I'm a little perplexed as to how I can watch a full length movie but can't look at a somewhat modest document.
i have a xoom wifi and i am aunable to view flash videos, for instance, embedded videos at the bbc website. they just hang while trying to load. i have android 3.2 and flash 11 installed. i have been to the flash website and run a test which shows that flash is installed and working ok.
Sometimes when I take pictures, they're appearing white or a dark green while viewing them. Is there anyway to recover these pictures? Or are they gone forever?
I notice that there is an option under Settings - Accounts & Sync to add a facebook account but when you click on Add account and select Facebook nothing happens. I have my Facebook account setup under the Facebook app and I am able to use Facebook as an option when I share photos but I am looking for the ability to have Facebook contacts show in the Contacts. I have an Evo 4G and I have the ability to have my Facebook contacts included with two Google accounts (work and personal) and would like to do so on my tablet as well. Is this just a feature of my HTC phone or a failing of Honeycomb 3.1 that I'm unaware of or is this specific to the Xoom FE?
I can not find the Facebook app in the market on my Xoom. When I go to the market on my PC it says the app it's not compatible with the Xoom. I know there are other options like FriendMe but I like to have the regular Facebook app too.
In fact, you may want to try it even if Facebook is working.
Facebook recently made some changes to its application and it won't show up any longer on the Honeycomb market. If you have it on there already it should work.
But I suggest you given FriendMe a try. It's a very nice Facebook app that takes advantage of some Honeycomb capabilites. I use it over the regular Facebook app (mine still works) despite a few bugs.
ive triedflipping the screen when opening attachments in gmail with no luck. the same email sent to my yahoo opened and i could view....im also having problems viewing videos in facebook and on you tube..what can i do?
Facebook official app is back in the marketplace, still force closes when you open 'friends' page, I have noticed that the old version is back not the the new interface.
Update: The new interface is working now, had some trouble update the feeds first, I think it was because of the newly implemented autostart of gps location, but after a manual force stop, it works.
Is there an easy way to plug my Blackberry into my Flatscreen TV (fairly recent 42" Samsung) to view my pictures, picture slideshows or videos directly from my Blackberry??? Seems straight forward but I've been having trouble getting this answer. Is it just a particular connecting cord?
How can I transfer pictures which I can see in Gallery to my PC? When I use ES File Explorer or File Manager those apps cannot find these pictures on the internal storage or external card but those albums and photos are visible in Gallery. The file manager apps see some albums but not all of those visible in Gallery. The PC cannot see them either using Windows Explorer as it only sees the same albums which the Xoom file manager apps can see.
I recently got my Xoom and I picked up the Motorola camera connecter cable to go along with it, and I'm trying to import pictures from my Canon T2i using the USB cable connected to the camera connector cable. When I plug the cables in and turn the camera on, the Xoom recogonizes the camera, actually starts rendering 3 or 4 thumbnails of the pictures on the card in the camera, and then I get an error message ont he camera and eventually the Xoom no longer recogonizes the camera.I tried a little Kodak point and shoot camera and it worked fine with the Xoom. I then hooked the Canon to my Ipad using Apple's camera connection kit and it imported the pictures perfectly. The next thing I did was update the firmware in the Canon and then retried it with the same results. It starts the import and then the camera crashes.
I have updated my Xoom to 3.1 and now have my sd card active. I have put a picture (jpeg) folder onto the sd card, and now I want to link the folder to the Gallery shortcut on my tablet so that I can show my pictures using the Gallery shortcut instead of having to go via my file manager app and then selecting the individual pictures on the sd card.
I have been trying to load some pictures from my laptop to my tablet and they transfer just fine. The only things is when they transfer on to the tablet they are all mixed up and not in order like they were on the laptop.
For example, I have one album folder with 500 photos in it.. It started with 500 pics in the folder, next thing I know there are 1000 photos in the same folder.. Duplicates of the original 500... Now the same folder contains 1500 photos, 3 copies of each of the original 500.. This is happening with all the gallery folders.. They all have 3 copies of each pic in each folder. This is the first Xoom released LTE-WI-FI model,Can anyone give me a reason why they keep multiplying like rabbits.. All the photo folders are stored on the ext. Micro SD card.. So instead of having roughly 2000 Pics as it should be, I now have 6000... Why would each folder now contain 3 copies of each pic..
It looks like thip topic has already been dealt with, but I am experiencing similar problems with my (new) Atrix. Facebook messages do not load through Atrix's Motoblur's messaging widget. The updates seem to be fine, though the contact's pictures do not come up. I deleted group messages from my Facebook homepage (not all of them, just the visible ones on the front page) and I also checked my IMEI, but still nothing.
So if i take a picture from the pro cam then want to view the picture by pressing the second circle bubble on the top right, when it opens, after about a second, it would slightly change colors.
My N5 will not open photos. I get a message saying "couldn't download MMS". This is starting to get annoying and I'm not sure if its a T-Mobile issue or a N5 issue.
I just upgraded from a Droid X to a Droid 3. On my X my facebook pictures automatically populated my contacts.
That is not the case with my Droid 3.
1) I've added a Facebook Account
2) There was no pre-installed facebook app so I downloaded and installed the Facebook App from the Market.
No pictures in my contacts although my facebook contacts did appear (in text form). I did wait a day to see if they'd come down. Next, I removed the app and the account. This time around I switched the order...
1) I installed the Facebook app from the market
2) I went to add and account. There was a small facebook icon and a large one. The large one looked "new" so I tapped it. The screen when blank for a second and then back to the account icons.
3) I chose the smaller facebook icon and was prompted for my login.
Facebook is listed as an account, but still no pictures in my contacts.
I don't believe you are able to, i have tried numerous ways, but they all just end up going to "Mobile uploads", then i have to go in and sort them out manually ont he comp, it's justa pain in the butt
I receive lots of email from friends and family that contain pictures that have been inserted between lines of text. They show up fine in outlook and webmail, but on the Xoom they show up with tiny placeholders (boxes with green question marksressing on "show pictures" does not help. Emails with regular attacements can be viewed by clicking on attachements, and advertising pics are shown after clicking "show pictures" Only embedded or inserted pictures are not displayedI have seen posts about this on the android forum, but could not find any answers.Hopefully there is a solution, especially since the Xoom has the latest
Typically I would go to Settings > Accounts > Facebook and then choose sync with existing contacts but in the facebook account settings there are sync options, just says sync now if I choose the menu button. I'm trying to get the Facebook pictures to sync with my contacts.
I got my Droid X back in December and the Facebook pictures for each contact haven't updated once since I got the phone. I've tried telling it to sync, but the pictures remain the same. Also, with some of my contacts it lists their Twitter name as their name, even if I type in a new name. Is there some way to set a default name? When I'm searching for someone to call/text, I don't normally think of them by their Twitter name, so it can make some people difficult to find. Other people come up by the names I set them to. Not sure what I did differently there.
