After a few days of using my Xoom (not powering it down) the notification light begins blinking for no reason that I can discover. I have used Android App Killer to shut down everything that is running and I cannot find a reason for the light to be on. Even disabling the light in settings will not stop it, nor will turning off notifications. When I reboot the tablet, it works as normal again for a few days. This started after I upgraded to Jelly Bean.
I have wifi XOOM with ICS 4.04. I had never realised there was a notification light until recently when my daughter with the same model came back from college and I saw the light flashing on her unit.I then realised that my unit's light has never flashed on any notifications, whether they be updates waiting, new Gmail etc. I know that the notiifcation light option has to be on in settings (which it is) and the unit has to be in standby mode with the screen off but even with both those conditions active and notifications pending, there is no light.
My notification light is blinking. it is blinking slow and is dim white when lit. Is this an error code? I have no emails and I'm not showing any updates. It has done this before I reset my Xoom and it went away. I can reset it agin but I'm curious as to what can cause it.
I'm not sure what's causing this, but the screen just randomly turns on sometimes but doesn't make a sound. I've thought this was a notification but sometimes there is one and sometimes there isn't. The phone's sitting perfectly still on a desk or lamp table etc. I don't have any settings on that turn the screen on for notification.
I've had this iPhone for about 7-8 months, and this started 3 weeks ago, I woke up in the morning and looked at the time on my phone, and it suddenly just turns off and turns back on showing the apple logo, and now it happened again twice!! Is there any way to fix this problem i've restored my phone fresh twice, no icloud no backup nothing installed, I also have 8.9 GB available.
When setting wifi to turn off when screen turns off it does so and that's perfect. However, When the screen is reactivated the wifi locks in "scanning" forever unless you press disable and enable wifi in whech case it will immediately steps scanning > acquiring > connected.
I've recently noticed that my xoom is losing connection to the web. In the lower right it says that I have a 3g signal, but none of the apps or browser can connect. After a manual reboot it seems to work again. I never saw this before sending it in for the 4g upgrade. Also this seems to be happening a couple times a day
No matter if I've just rebooted my xoom or if It's been on for a while, whenever I decide to suft the web using the stock browser I have the ability to for maybe 5-10 minutes and then it will just randomly crash and I have to open it again. I'm not doing anything that could be considered memory or processor intensive.
So I have noticed that my Xoom Family Edition has just powered itself off randomly a few times.I go back to the tablet to wake it up, but it is fully powered off. My battery is charged. This has happened about 3 or 4 times since owning it for 3 days.
url...My Xoom has done it again..I left it charging last night. When I took it off the charger this morning and pressed the power button, the screen would not turn on.Tried again to press power and still it wouldn't turn on the display.Only the notification light was blinking. So I was forced to hard reboot the device via Power and Vol+.When the device rebooted, the encryption unlock screen was displayed:Anyone have a clue how this would continue to occur? My device was not currently encrypted.I did encrypt it successfully once about a month or so ago, but didn't like the performance nor having to type my password each time to unlock the device. So I perfromed a Master Reset / Factory Data Reset. The device has been functioning fine up until today.
When I plug in my Xoom tablet for charging, the unit will blink the indicator light if it's powered down, or the "Charging (xx%)" and lightning bolt on the battery icon will blink when powered on. It also takes a longer time then normal to charge.
Ring/Notification tones randomly change after media rebuild
I had to rebuild my media library to get rid of some "ghost " image thumbnails in the gallery. I deleted all data associated with Media Storage and rebooted.
This totally hosed up my Ring/Notification tones. Why should a rebuild of the media library make a difference?
I bought my phone about 3 months ago and a few days ago the notification light has stopped working. It doesn't work for Text messages or battery low, basically it "burned out." I've tried a data factory reset and still no go. I was thinking about warranty replacing the phone but I hate to do that for certain reasons. I know I don't have any applications that would make it not work, so I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place.
I just got this phone and my notification light is not working properly it works on messages and on emails but not while charging or on bluetooth like the manual says it would.
I made a mistake, well now it feels like a mistake, of installing light flow led controller on my Atrix 2 and it was a complete fail. So I uninstalled the app and now the LED notification light does not blink when it is in screen off mode. It blinks twice when you lock it, then the notifications stop. HELP! How do I reset the green notification flash?
I leave my phone in the dock by my bed and have a timeframe smart action set to turn off all ringers but I can't seem to find a way to turn off the notification light. It gets kind of annoying to wake up to get a drink and see that light flashing because of a new email like a new photon or an email. If I could set a smart action to turn the light off at night that would be excellent.
D3 green notification light randomly blinking when there is no notification or other activity. Have pulled battery. Turned off unused apps. Battery functioning normally.
After the update to android 3.1 my Xoom no longer plays the notification tone when I get Email, Calendar notifications, Twitter messages etc. etc. But it plays fine in the system settings menu.
I have the original Xoom 4G, Android 4.0.4 and use it every day. Here's my issue .... When I delete an email message, I get a new email notification shortly after. If I delete 3 messages, I get a notification that I have 3 new messages.Of course when I check, there are none. I tried removing the email account and reconfiguring it, but that didn't help.
I see you have updated the locked update topic. Once again I did not receive any email notification.I did verify that the topic is aware that I should be receiving them.
The temperature display in my notification bar updates only sporadically. I noticed some discussion of this in the past, but no answers. I'd like to know either how to make it update more frequently or turn it off!
This botched release of ice cream has taken a lot of time. Support personnel don't know the product. I've been disconnected twice from Motorola personnel. That's an old trick - hang up on the customer in mid-sentence - pretend it's a phone problem - don't call back.
I've figured out most of the goop. The last problem I have is that I do get the green notification light for text messages but it's gone for e-mails. Does anyone know how to get the light back?
Motorola, you did a poor job with this release. Support personnel don't know the product and you are way understaffed to handle all the calls.
