I have a Motorola Xoom wifi edition that will not power up. When on a charger, it goes from white to green as normal. I've tried power and volume down, power and volume up, and power and both volume, all to no avail. It was working just fine until my dad got it, then it refused to power up.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a XOOM WiFi I bought from Staples on launch day. A couple of days ago the screen started turning blue. If the device sits unused (such as overnight) the next morning it is fine for about a minute or two. Then it turns blue again. The blue corruption moves. If I try to scroll up on a list that is already scrolled as far as it can go a blue "halo" appears at the bottom of the screen for as long as I hold my finger on the screen. It disappears after a few seconds. I've already tried a soft reset. I haven't tried a factory wipe yet as I was hoping to avoid that.

I currently carry a Tour.I've worked on countless BlackBerrys, processed many repairs and exchanges, and have studied these phones from their hardware to their software. However, I have come across a problem that I cannot repair. Let me explain. BlackBerry Tour on Sprint. The device will not power on. I have done the standard protocol on devices that will not power up-- replaced battery, tried to connect to Desktop Manager, try connecting to JL Commander-- none of which had any effect. The owner of the phone has accepted that I will have to order him another one, but has propositioned me outside of work and offered me a handsome reward if I can get the contacts and texts messages off of the old one somehow. I told him how unlikely the possibility is, but with the amount of money he is willing to pay me for it, I am going to try.My question to you gurus out there: What can I do to accomplish such a task? I took his motherboard out and put it in different Tour's housing, hoping it was just some insignificant cable problem from the original housing, but sadly it still did not power on. The device has only been used for about 3 months, and the motherboard has no signs of abuse of any kind. Does anyone have any ideas, crazy or not, how to get this motherboard to power on so I recover his contacts and/or text messages? He bought me a soldering kit and told me if there's ANYTHING else I need to get the job done, let him know no matter the cost.

Also the Led light keeps on flashing red continuously. Iam in South Africa and received the phone as a present which was bought from Verizon. Has anyone heard of this error or could explain it? I've done some searching but turned up nothing.It said ready to program so I ran the CNS unlock on it, but still no luck. I'll return it if I have to or call motorola but I have to deal with the border crossing involved in that and that makes it much more time consuming if this is an easy fix.
Today after turning my phone back on it got stuck on the 'Now' screen and wouldn't finish powering up. During this time my phone was connected to the network and the phone received messages and rang once but of course I couldn't view the messages or answer the calls. I wasn't able to turn it off either. The only way to fix it was to pull the battery.

If I then shut it off a second time, it stays off. This happens infrequently, maybe 3-4 times since I got the phone on 11/11/11.
Last night my droid razr maxx turned off without me powering it down. I tried to turn it back on, but nothing happened. I plugged it in a still nothing happened, the light didn't even flash. I know the battery did not die because I still had abour 70% left and leaving it plugged in all night did not help. My best guess is that it crashed, If anyone has had this problem and knows how to fix it or knows what may have caused it I would like to know so it will not happen with my replacement phone. I've only had my phone for exactly two months. Update: Version informed me that an app actually caused this to happen and got it to reset. Apparently i was pushing the up volume button instead of down.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI don't need my Motoactv on all the time, especially when I am sleeping, so rather than having to charge it every few days when it's on, I decided to shut it down. I held down the power button and chose to POWER OFF. That was last night around 1AM. Today, around 7PM, I held power to turn it on but it wouldn't. I kept trying to no avail. Finally, I plugged in a USB charging cable and it slowly came to life. At this point, the white charging light refused to come on (normally it's on right away).

I'm not even sure where or how to search for the answer.I am a former Blackberry user and, as with my Atrix, my phone can be turned on but is non-accessible without a passcode, finger swipe, etc. However, with my Blackberry, as soon as the phone was turned on, I had my name and work telephone number typed on the wallpaper, asking to be contacted if my telephone was found. I haven't found a way to put the same info on my Atrix. Perhaps creating my own wallpaper?

View 10 Replies View RelatedFor the last few weeks my GPS has been basically useless. Sometimes if I let it sit and hunt for 30 minutes it finally picks something up. This means it's very hard to use Google Navigator or RunTracks. MapMyRun would sometimes get a lock after letting it hunt for half an hour. Letting my phone sit to do that just drains the battery though.My phone has the latest updates. I used an app to see how many satellites it "sees", and it finds about 7 or so but doesn't recieve any positioning info from them. I've tried turning location services on/off and rebooting the phone. Tried the same thing plus also removing the battery.

I've sent it in for repair once already (preparing a second trip) and that was a waste of time cause NOTHING AT ALL seem to change. The browsing speed is very very slow and most sites dont open.The signal strength shown in xoom is - (-105 dBm 3 asu).Is this a issue with Android 3.2 update or my home wifi is weak?
