With honeycomb, when you removed the tablet from the dock (and it was in standby) the screen turned on, but now with ICS I only get to hear the 'sound' but the screen doesn't turn on, I have to use the on button to turn the screen on..

Less than a minute after putting my phone in the Dock, the screen saver comes on making it very difficult to see the digital clock at night, even with the screen brightness set to max. This makes the Dock applications almost useless.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently got the Motorola Car Dock for my x2 and am having a problem where the phone claims to be continuing to charge after I've removed it from the dock. More recently the Car Dock app will exit after starting. On that issue I've checked and it is not on the auto end list and will remain on when it connects to the car's bluetooth system.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a XOOM WiFi I bought from Staples on launch day. A couple of days ago the screen started turning blue. If the device sits unused (such as overnight) the next morning it is fine for about a minute or two. Then it turns blue again. The blue corruption moves. If I try to scroll up on a list that is already scrolled as far as it can go a blue "halo" appears at the bottom of the screen for as long as I hold my finger on the screen. It disappears after a few seconds. I've already tried a soft reset. I haven't tried a factory wipe yet as I was hoping to avoid that.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was having problems with the Canadian dictionary, I wanted to remove miss spelled words I accidentally added. Funny I got it! There is a bit of a bug so I thought I would past anyway. While there are no added words under Language Settings > User dictionary (if you are using the Canadian dictionary) you get this message - "You do not have words in your dictionary you can add words through the menu" but if you switch to the US Dictionary you will find he words that have been added. Note. I use the predictive text as a spell checker and I am impressed. Got to settings > Language & input >configure input methods > Settings > change Auto correction to aggressive. Only issue is added words are not added to the default language dictionary but the US one.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI bought the Atrix just for the docks (I have the car and lapdock) and after spending that much money I expect better from Motorola. I've updated to gingerbread if that help. The car dock hasn't rebooted the phone as much as the lapdock does but my lapdock is now useless.

Each night I set my phone into the standard dock (non-usb one), and the bedside mode comes up as it should and the screen dims after a minute or so as it should. It is usually around 10 to 15 minutes after I dock the phone that the problem occurs. What happens: The bedside alarm app is removed from the screen, revealing the home screen in landscape mode. My screen then times out (shuts off) as it should, because the bedside alarm clock is not the active window. My alarms work fine, but I can't see what time it is when I wake up before my alarm goes off unless I turn the screen on and look at the lock screen. I've tried factory resets, fxz file, removing all apps from recent apps list, resetting the alarm app data, nothing seems to.

But I am at a fork in the road:(this is the thrid time the screen has done this)Last night I went to check my phone and it appeared to be off, my power button does not work so I have to plug it in to turn it on. But the charger light was on so that meant the phone was already on. the buttons lit up still as well. Being this is not the first time I took the battery out for about an hour and put it back in, plugged it in, and still nothing. The M sign that comes up when you first turn it on doesen't appear and neither does anything else on the screen. But when i recieved a call I could answer the call like the screen was working but still was not on. I left the battery out all night from 8pm-6am and still nothing but i can still answer the calls. Left it out until 2 this afternoon and still nothing. I have no idea what to do.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm on my second Motorola Standard Dock for the Droid. In each case the dock worked fine for a short time, then phone suddenly stopped going into "dock mode" when inserted. The connection is OK: Still charges the phone. Just no dock mode features, which is why I bought the dock in the first place. Tried every combination of seating while turned on/off, seating then turning on/off, powering and de-powering dock, etc. No dice. Phone docks fine and enters car dock mode with car cradle. Using provided charger(s) with dock(s). Have not tried full reset of phone due to hassle of reinstalling apps, etc., but powered up, removed battery, etc. Am I really so unlucky as to get two defective docks or is there a software issue here?

As of a few days ago, my screen keeps flashing on for maybe a 1/2 second every few minutes or so. I don't think it always happens 24/7, but I've caught it happening a lot. It does eems to happen shortly after a reboot as well. The screen goes off nearly immediately. It definitely doesn't time out and go off after 1 minute, like it would if I manually turned it on.
Perhaps it's an app update gone bad or something else, It doesn't appear to be drastically affecting battery life.
I have the betterbatterystats app and with 5 hours since counters were reset, awake time doesn't appear to be abnormal (it's at 30% right now with 16% screen on time). If I look at partial wakelocks, the largest one is AlarmManager at 13m and 55s. Nothing else is over 4 minutes.
I do have Yahoo Sportacular giving me sports score notifications and K-9 giving me email notifications, but I'm nearly certain that I've caught the screen coming on plenty of times when I didn't have any notification come in.
How can I figure out what's causing my screen to come on by itself rather frequently?
I have a daughther that is 16 months old and sometimes while traveling we will start a movie on the Xoom for her to watch. But being that she is young, she loves to touch the screen which usually causes the movie to stop.
I have searched the Google Play for an app that would allow the screen and buttons to lock for a toddler and still show what is on the screen, but I have not found one yet. The screen could still be unlocked, but it would be like the lid to a medicine bottle, only a grown-up could unlock it.
Everytime I plug my Atrix4 into my computer or plug into the wall the screen lights up, and the notification ringtone goes off is there away of stopping this without shutting off my ringtone or message ringtone. Have been in every menu I can think of...

The Xoom was dropped on a tile floor and had multiple cracks in the glass, but was still functional. Just want all you fellow Xoom owners to know it can be done yourself if you have at least a bit of skills (and a hair dryer).
