Motorola Atrix 4G :: Go To Settings- About Phone- System Updates, The Progress Wheel Just Keeps Turning Forever?
Apr 23, 2011
When I go to settings- about phone- system updates, the progress wheel just keeps turning forever. I had this problem a while ago and I was told my motoblur account was inactive. I'm assuming this has happened again somehow? How does this keep happening? I don't have any customization or rooting or anything like that. Obviously I don't want to have to perform a factory reset everytime I want to check for an update.
Last night there were several updates to apps and system settings. One of them had something to do with the display for Lumia devices, but it updated so quickly, I didn't see any info about it. This morning, my 1520 scrolling on the home page is flawless, even scrolling while trying to make it click.
Sooner or later, we're gonna have an upgrade to perform and some users recommend doing a reset/restore to minimize issues. What do people do to backup and restore things like (especially like) Angry Birds progress?I've seen a few Titanium based suggestions elsewhere, but I thought that needed root, and some others relating to backing up the high scores file (but I can't find it).
I'm new at this so I apologize in advance if this has been asked. I'm not even sure where or how to search for the answer.I am a former Blackberry user and, as with my Atrix, my phone can be turned on but is non-accessible without a passcode, finger swipe, etc. However, with my Blackberry, as soon as the phone was turned on, I had my name and work telephone number typed on the wallpaper, asking to be contacted if my telephone was found. I haven't found a way to put the same info on my Atrix. Perhaps creating my own wallpaper?
why does Moto Media Link take forever to sync my music? Its annoying, but I love having a phone that can hold music. I do like whats on Gingerbread, now that I don't have to find the album name, but still, it shouldn't take an hour +, especially when the screen says 20 minutes left.
Whenever I send photo's via Gmail they sit in the outbox forever. I have to kill the Gallery or the Media Storage service and then the photo will go. Regular emails go fine. I have tried resetting all the cache on each of the applications and still nothing. I also reformatted my storage and still the same problem.
I have my atrix plugged into my car dock while driving and listening to music from it through the aux input on my stereo (through the charge lead) but when every I make or answer a call while driving, the sound defaults to the speaker on the phone and nothing can be heard. I have to press the "Speaker" button on the screen and then i can hear the person on the call without issue.
I recently had to get a replacement Atrix through AT&T after my original one shattered. I had insurance and AT&T provided me a refurbished one through their insurance program. My question is, will I still be able to get all future updates on this phone or is there something I need to do?
My phone states "Check for update was not available at this time. Try again later." I tried a factory reset, but to no avail... Same message still shows. Is there a manual update check?
I have a replacement 4G LTE Xoom that I just received a few weeks ago on warrantee from Motorola. It works fine, except it doesn't seem to be getting the system updates that I have heard are already released. Here's what I have right now:Android 3.2.2Baseband Vers CDMA_N_03.1A.52P ltedc_u_05.15.00Kernel vers 2.6.36.3-g6963abe android-build@apa28 #1build #HLK42BI've gone in multiple times to check system updates and it keeps telling me it's up to date. However, I was supposed to be part of the latest push and got the survey, but never got the update. From what I can see, I'm a version or two behind, but I can't seem to get the newer versions.
I bought my Bionic in September new from Verizon. I have not received a single system update since getting the phone and am still on version 5.5.886.XT875. Why am I not getting updates?
Currently, if I try to force an update, I get "Check for update is not available at this time. Try again later." I have been trying for the past 48 hours.
I haven't tried to update my phone for a while. Initially (20 months ago when I purchased the phone) I was very keen to as you said there would be an imminent update to froyo, after months of waiting and searching forums to only to see dozens of other perplexed by the lack of any update I gave up to my dissappointment and have been waiting to receive an update automatically.I've just read that motorola were issuing upgdate to Android 2.2 nearly a year ago and that 2.3 is even available, however all I've had for the past week when attempting to check for an update is the message "The device is unable to connect to the server. Try again later.".
The "System Updates" option under Settings->About Phone is disabled after I updates to ICS 4.0.4. I am from India and my current System Version is : 673.94.324.XT910.AsiaRetail.en.03.
I have attached a screenshot below to show how it looks.
I have 2 MAXXs in the family. On #1, I went into System updates and updated to 181. I keep trying to do this on #2 and keep getting the following: "Check for update is not available at this time. Try again later." This happened on #2 before, but powering off reset it. This time I have tried powering off and on several times, but still cannot get the System update to work. The settings (wifi, etc.) are the same on #1 and #2. Any ideas to get the System update to work?
this is my first WP, I made the jump from iPhone 5 to the Lumia 1520 with the Cyan update on ATT. I have noticed that apps like Facebook and Instagram take a long time to load updates when I am off wifi.
I know this is everywhere, but my case is different. I had problems with my lockscreen which never turned off. I went to another forum and asked for tips, they said to Reset All settings (not erase all content). I did that, and guess what, it is stuck in the apple logo and sometimes with the spinning wheel. Now I CANNOT go into DFU mode because I do not have a backup of anything and if I restore im screwed and all my apps, contact, etc. will go away. I have access to the iPhone system folders (iFunbox, diskaid, etc.)
This occurred after I installed few applications with the version that came with the phone in February. After the upgrade to gingerbread, it worked for a few days then acted up again. After a hard reset to factory, all working and the applications that seem to mess with the updater are weather related; my most suspicion is the Go Weather but cant isolate it for sure!
I have an Atrix running original FW.I also have the lapdock and do like it but REALLY need RDP and VNC clients in order to do my job (linux engineer) better! If any of the updates come out with VNC and/or RDP apps (also ssh CLI would be GREAT!) which I was hoping might be in gingerbread count me in! I use the Atrix and webtop for WORK and right now I just use the lapdock enlarged phone view and run my ssh, vnc, and rdp apps as needed from anywhere I can get a cell or wi-fi signal but the resolution and screen size could be a LOT better. Is there any chance I might see SSH, VNC, and RDP apps added to the webdock any time soon?Is there any plans to add "SPICE" protocol support any time soon for DAAS? url..
Does Motorola have a SDK that I can suggest to developers of the SSH, VNC, and RDP apps I use so they can start developing for the lapdock?Having a full firefox and flash is great (firefox REALLY needs to be updated to v4 with canvas support though!) but just having that and the ICA client I never use is NOT enough! If I could just get AT LEAST a VNC client I could eliminate having to use a laptop completely and just use a VM on my cloud instead!I thought this phone was designed for cloud? It is still missing too many things for me to use it with DAAS (desktop as a service) cloud services!
how often or when the out-of-the-box weather widget updates on the Atrix 2? Can't seem to find it anywhere in the settings, or any information on it...
I have a 2009 Acura TSX w/Tech Package. I'm attempting to play music on my Motorola Atrix HD, but the TSX's bluetooth doesn't detect my phone. When I plug the phone into the USB connector in the center console the TSX still doesn't detect anything.
Does anyone know what I need to do in order to play music on my Atrix HD through the TSX's system?
This morning I thought I'd check for updates, but was surprised to find that the "System updates" option on the "About phone" option from the Settings menu is disabled (greyed out).
I am currently "roaming" in Canada and have network data disabled, but am using WiFi. Could my location be impacting this? I have done a reboot.
Meanwhile my LTE XOOM still has the corresponding option available, but it has not connected to the network at all (data roaming disabled) since I have been in Canada.
if this happened as a result of the system upgrade (to 4.5.91.MB860.ATT.en.US, Android version 2.3.4), but I surely noticed many contacts on my phone are messed up. Many names, phone numbers, email addresses etc are all mixed up together.
I went and reset all settings on my jailbroken 3.1.2 3Gs and the phone has been stuck on the apple logo for a couple hours. Is this normal? How long does it take to reset?
I'm looking for the system's folder which stores the basic wallpapers which come with the phone? I'd like to add some files so that I can easily keep alternate wallpapers handy without keeping them mixed with my camera roll ?
I noticed that my music app has two folders titled Unknown albums. In the two folders(one has the artist as dr. mad the other is unknown) there are various system sounds.
Periodically, the phone will apparently be off for no reason - and will not respond in any way, not even to turn on with the power button. I have to pull the battery and replace it in order to power it up again. Most of the time, when I discover the phone off, the phone itself is very hot. I've noticed when pulling the battery, that the battery itself feels fine - warmer than usual, but not as hot as the phone itself. Also, most of the time, after I get the phone up and running again, it shows a very low charge on the battery (like 20% or so), even though it may have shown 80% hours earlier. This part doesn't happen every time - sometimes it comes back up still showing a good charge. But most of the time, it shows a low figure.
I was on a plane with USB points for charging and I noticed that if the phone is off and a USB cord is connected, then the phone turns on. Is it possible to charge the phone with a USB cord without the phone turning on?
My WiFi settings are checked for WiFi to never sleep; however, when my screen is off and the phone is on Standby, after a short while the WiFi disconnects. When the screen is turned on, the WiFi again connects. I assumed that the Advanced WiFi setting of "Never Sleep" would prevent this allowing me to remain connected on Skype etc. while on Standby. Does this indicate a problem with the phone or am I missing something?I have done a factory reset but the problem still persists.
