The initial shine of the 3.1 patch to fix shortcomings in orginal 3.1 upgrade has tarnished.I'm now experiancing regular "Not Responding" messages while browsing, and if you select "wait" rather than "close", the entire system freezes.This results in me having to hold the UP volume button and power button until it does a hard shut down.

These sites did not cause force closes previous to the Android 3.1 update. However, Adobe Flash support is also lost if OpenGL is disabled.

Also the pinch/zoon works fine on the internet but differently when on photos that i have taken. You cannot pinch, to zoom you have to drag your finger up and it vibrates when you touch the screen and a white streak comes up on the pic while you are draging your finger, visa verse to zoom out.

Are there any files or something I can flash that will allow me to try and format everything and start over? When the errors pop up I try to recreate the issue and one out of 5 times I am able to do so. I have tried battery pulls and several factory resets/wiping everything. Then, one day, it doesn't work at all. I had it set to default to "Desk Dock" but now evertime the "smart charger" is plugged in, the screen goes black and says "Unfortunately, Desk Dock has stopped". Ever since the 3.1 update I can't use any browser because it just closes out. The stock browser doesn't show a forced close dialog after, but the aftermarket ones do. I could definitely use a hand in figuring this out so my tablet isn't almost uselss.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi have a wifi only xoom running android 4.0.3. yesterday i got the ics update and my ability to watch video from amazon on my xoom in my browser went bad. prior to the update it worked on and off but when it had problems they were never like this, and when it had problems they showed up on all computers i own that tried to use the service. the problem on the xoom tablet continues today. the video is pixelated and very choppy. the audio is very crackly and popping. this is not the way it worked prior to the upgrade.
i can watch the same video on my desktop chrome browser and it works fine. i can watch it on firefox browser and it works. on the xoom i can use the andriod marketplace to buy a video and watch it and it works fine. i can use the xoom browser to view ted and Internet videos and they work fine. is it the browser, the ics update, or is the amazon delivery system antagonistic to ics? also i noticed a very sharp drop in audio volume output of all kinds once the isc upgrade had been done. i simply can not turn up the volume loud enough to hear it easily.
I'm having another issue with the xoom. Whenever I open an excel spreadsheet the document opens then closes within a minute. I believe it has something to do with my RAM.

It started when simply viewing a message, I had not installed anything recently.
my email app and my browser have been force closong randomly but now my homescreen, I have to restart it or wait 10 minutes. what is the problem, why cant sony update the phone. I've had my phone since April and has recently started to experience a lot of problems with the handset. I'm best mentioning that my technical know-how is very limited in terms of phones, but I've accepted the fact I'm going to have to run a factory reset on my phone. So the problems I'm experiencing:- All of a sudden, apps start crashing one after the other. So much so that I can't even turn the phone off properly and just have to hold the power button down until it goes off itself.- Sometimes it just freezes, and when it does, it rapidly drains the battery.- Other times it just randomly decides to turn itself off (this has happened during the night resulting in me sleeping in for work because my alarm has failed to go off!)- When apps have crashed and I've had to turn it on and off again, all information stored (ie. texts, photos, Twitter feed) after the 16th October is gone!I've even went on Kies Air to start transferring photos, videos, etc. to my laptop, but even that keeps crashing, meaning it constantly disconnects from the laptop. I cleared out a lot of old apps I don't use anymore, but they reappear when I turn it back on, resetting back to pre-16th October like I mentioned.

I had not added any files to my Xoom yet but while I started playing some of the music files that came with the Xoom, the player force closed while I was browsing the music files. It does not close while playing music but only while browsing the music that came with the Xoom. I then added music to the music folder from my PC and it still force closes while browsing my music files. This happends all the time after I play a few music files. I have the music player 3.0 version. A reboot does not help, it does it every time I use the player. Has anyone had this problem? Any suggestions are welcome. If I install another music player app. will it recognize my music already in my Xoom? And any recommendations on another player? I'm tired of the force closing of the Music player that came with the Xoom.

I can download and install the Pro Key which I bought from the Market with no issues. I have tried the Factory Reset and I still get same issue.

The reply from support is simply update software, I can't see why I have to do all this, as apart from anything else I don't currently have a phone line for internet due to illegal BT sales activity! It is also suggested that I send phone off in a jiffy bag to be repaired if unsuccessful, and what do I do for a phone in the mean time?? Not only that they suggest that it will cost me if it is not a fault they cover.

View 1 Replies View RelatedLike the title says, my 5230's web browser crashes whenever I try and load a forum thread, I was able to do this a while ago and I've not run out of data or anything, there are no music files, no photos, no apps on the phone. I have reset the settings to factory but nothing has helped.I'm starting to get fed up of this phone, it has good navigation properties but that is just about the only thing it has going for it now.
