On my previous windows phone, I could download media for example before I got on a flight. For some reason, when I try to do the same thing on my Photon, it streams the media as opposed to downloading it. How do I download it?
For example, go here and try to download a previously taped radio show from their archive and select "Get MP3": [URL]
For me, it automatically plays it instead of downloading.
I have just moved from a windows phone and got this photon phone. I listen to music from the web, like 181.fm/mobile. These stations require a windows media player to work. The windows media player is not on my photon phone or in the android market place.

You can download the non uv by going to paramountdigitalcopy.com. I would like to know if it is possible to download the movie to windows media player and then sync it to my device. View 1 Replies View RelatedAny app I try to download wont download. It just has a continuous downloading status but never actually downloads. Has anyone seen this problem before? I spoke to a sprint rep and she did a refresh but the same problem still persists. I even restarted the phone but still have the same issue. My internet and everything else works. The rep told me I can do a factory reset to see if that will fix the problem. I will take it to a sprint store but wanted to see if anyone else had this problem and fixed it without doing a hard reset.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI purchased the Photon 4G at the reccomendation of a friend and sprint employee who spoke highly of it. It, being a Motorola product, left me somewhat wary (nothing against the company, their hardware is great, not so much the software end.) The phone itself runs like a dream, no issues to speak of, yet. I connected it to my computer last night to charge, aware I'd most likely be prompted for drivers and what not, and I was correct. Surprisingly so, I was prompted with an autoplay for the Moto Helper software contained within the phone ready to install. Did so. Updated everything. All was great. I disconnected the phone and removed the back to install my micro SD card, nothing impressive, just a small 4GB I had laying around until I purchase something bigger, if I need it.
Upon reconnecting the device, I noticed rather than appearing as two separate devices, it merged both of them together under the same portable device under My Computer. Didn't know quite how to feel about that, but didn't pay any mind. I'd left it connected for most of today, when out of the blue, Motorola Media Link pops up, seemingly unprompted and for no reason, and starts trying to sync. It hangs, or something, because I only have 2 or 3 gigs worth of stuff on the card and nothing in the phone yet, and it had sat there for at least 2 or 3 horus at the "Loading new media." stage. So. I disconnected the phone, which allowed me to close MML. It should also be noted that around the same time it popped up, the storage units were separated in My Computer, each appearing as a Removable Disk, one for the SD card, one for internal storage.
Anyway. Upon reconnecting the device, MML did not reappear, and the storage units were merged once again. Attempting to launch MML did nothing, I could see it running in my resource manager, but nothing was happening. I rebooted, still nothing. I then uninstalled and reinstalled, still nothing. I'm not sure if MML is the way to go after reading topics of it messing with Applications, still, I would like the functionality available to me if I decide to use it.
The Sprint manual says you can download music via Windows Media Player or MML , but once you load your music via Media Player, if you use then Motorola you will end up with two seperate files that will use your memory. From the Media player you will have a file called Music,and from Motorola you will have a file MML Mobile.

I get an error message, saying that it could not be open.Any suggestions as to A) how to fix it or B) a free app that will stream custom URLs? My phone has been reset several times since I first noticed this problem, and it is still an issue, so a battery pull/reset is not solving this at all.

3. Live Streaming is missing, yet I have the app installed, but trying to update it says "You device is not compatible with this version"
I can't get music streaming in the home media application to work on my E52. I start the home media app, browse servers and find my Synology NAS that is connected to my router. I select it and see its shared folders. I select the music folder and see all the artists and songs on my NAS server. So far so good. When I select a song a question pops up "Select device: (no servers found)". Can someone help me? I don't know if it's the phone, the router or the NAS that needs configuring.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a major issue with my corporate exchange calendar. If I accept an invitation to a meeting, the phone makes me the organizer of the meeting. This syncs back to my corporate calendar. This is obviously completely wrong. If I delete the meeting on my phone, or on my computer, it sends out a message to everyone that was on the meeting saying that it was cancelled. If I need to adjust the meeting only on my calendar, it sends out an update to everyone. It has caused a lot of confusion for me and my work colleagues.

My girlfriend has called me for the past three days and she says my phone rings and rings and goes to voicemail. I have Sprint Service. I am not using TeleNav or any other navagation, I am just using the GPS mode and Bluetooth is also running. I dont have any other issues with not receiving incoming calls unless its in the dock.

I did a full factory reset about a month ago. the last couple of days the phone has been freezing with the alarm. the alarm will go off and I might get one or two snoozes out of it then the display freezes and is unresponsive. O can push the power button to get the power off menu but the screen will not respond to allow a power off, I must remove the battery to reset the phone.and as anyone who has a Photon knows how much fun putting the back on is. Any ideas.again this is a pretty fresh reboot and I do not have near as many apps running as before the reboot

Media link started up and downloaded every CD on the computer before I could stop it. (I had selected only the new CD's in media link) I had to go into my music and delete everything that was duplicated. Then I discovered that my playlists were all empty. I had gone though all of my music and put all songs in playlists. Now I had to do it again!! I thought I was all fixed up and discovered this morning that all 1,290 photos from my computer were loaded onto my phone as well. DO NOT leave media link on your computer. I'm removing it when I get home and I'll start doing the old copy/paste routine. Motorola should send warnings about Media Link to all customers.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought my Bionic about 3 weeks ago and have had some issues with it. That is a whole other topic, we wont get into that. I am now having issues with Zumo Cast. I got it installed and set up no issues. Occasionally it will show offline but a exit and restart of the program seemed to to the trick. Well tonight I converted several types of formats for a video to see which was best on the screen and mirrored to the TV.It will play a video but if i stop it or try to change files it says it cannot connect server error. The icon on my computer, which is running Windows 7 64bit, shows its status as streaming. Even after closing the app, stoping the app in task manager, and signing out. Still shows streaming and stays that way until I exit the software. Restart everything and its fine until I try and change from one file to another and the same thing happens. If I am away from the house I cant very well close the PC program everytime I want to watch a different video. I have uninstalled the software on the computer and the app on the phone with the same issues.

The phone and the data both connect most of the time on it's own, sometimes I have to go into teh settings and tell it to connect. The main issue is, I will open an application I use to play audiobooks (Ambling) and start an audio book, which works fine. However, 90% of the time when I turn the screen off the phone will then proceed to restart. It will continue this behaviour until I shut down and power back on the phone, at which point everything works just fine. However as soon as leave my car, go into work or the store or whatever, and come back out to my car the chances are high I'll have to go through it again.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have recently purchased the Droid RAZR MAXX, and I have setup motocast to work on my computer to my phone. I am currently able to do everything that I expected, however when I stream or download video files to my phone wirelessly I do have some problems.
The motocast software runs a program called gst-launcher.exe (Ibelieve) and it ends up taking my cpu usage up to between 50% - 70%. This seems a bit high, and it actually ends up making my desktop computer that is running the program over heat within a couple minutes.
While, my desktop computer isn't the latest and greatest technology, I am running Intel Core i7 860 at 2.8 GHz. This seems to me that if my computer cannot handle streaming video to my phone then most computers won't be able to handle this action.
My question is, is this normal and I have to accept that fact that my computer will not be able to stream media?
Also my other question is, is there a way to tone down the cpu usage so that it stays in a safer range of usage? (I am assuming the program is converting the file to the correct format to play on my phone. When I stopped the .exe from task manager my video was able to play on my phone for a bit longer. This indicates to me that if it is converting the video for my phone that if it weren't running at the fastest rate that I may be able to stream video.)
I have blockbuster and If I rent a movie on demand I want to watch on my large tv screen rather than the little phone, What do I need to buy to do this and how is it done.
