I'm unable to sync all of my music. The number of songs is correct when it displays in MotoCast but it only copies 187 of 1759 songs. The sync history shows an error.

From what I have read, music from Apple's iTunes and Window's Media Player can be used to sync music and playlists. Does anyone know if this also works for Songbird?
A big reason I switched to Android 2 years ago was to finally drop iTunes and WMP has never been a very appealing tool for managing my music. It strikes me as odd that an Android device would be dependent on an Apple or Windows product but perhaps I am misunderstanding this.
I am using the MotoActv with Mac OSx Lion, all devices updated to the most recent versions. All had been working perfectly until a few days ago. Now, when I plug in via USB port to sync music and run data, MotocastUSB loads, but the message at the bottom of the screen says "Connect your Device" and all of the indicators say 0GB available. When I press the Sync button, I get a Sync complete message with Media sync:failed. Fitness sync: successful. When i then press the Sync History button, I get the message Music:writeCommandToDevice failed. No connection to device. Info for MotoAcrv indicates 10.26 GB of space available.
I just tried syncing music to my MotoACTV. It was going along fine, and then I got an error along the lines of "There is a network failure on drive F:. The data is lost." I have done a factory reset, and have uninstalled and reinstalled the motocast software. When I try to sync, it goes through the "Analyzing files" stage and then gets to "Syncing Music to Device" and freezes. I have tried syncing several different playlists, and nothing works.
I have the 16GB device and since I took the latest upgrade yesterday I am no longer able to sync. Message is 'MOTOACTV cannot connect to the server please try after sometime'. I can't sync via WiFi or phone.I've powered off the device a couple of times and reset my modem and router.
Is there a way that the music on/off button could be used to advance to the next song (in a future update of course)? I run to the music beat and sometimes want to speed up/sloww down the music selection without stopping to advance the music. Just a thought
When I go to the music player and select a song to play, I get a message that tells me to plug in my headphones. The issue is that my headphones are plugged in. I didn't have this issue a week ago. I was listening to my music just fine. I have rebooted the device several times already. The weird thing is that I can hear the boot up sounds through my headphones, as well as notifications. I just can't play music. I have the same issue with the FM radio.
After my MOTOACTV 8GB came from warranty (from Moto, obviously), Motocast USB offered me an software update. I ran before the software update and sync'd to my motoactv.com account. After I installed the software update, my Motoactv DOES NOT SYNC with my account.I tried everything: sync with my laptop (Mac OS X Lion, last update), sync with wi-fi, sync after power off/power on, sync after reboot (start+power), sync after reboot of my laptop, sync after "factory reset". DOES NOT SYNC.
Then I tried a new account on motoactv.com. Now it does sync! The I tried to login to motoactv.com page -the new version is UGLY and DOES NOT WORK in Mac OS X Lion' Safari, why we need ads on that page? I BOUGHT, I OWN one MOTOACTV 8GB- and I can login to my old account, all my OLD info is there, but I want to put my new info, my new stats there. The watch does sync with my new account, DOES NOT SYNC with my old account. Then I tried to "factory reset" and to sync with old account... STILL DOES NOT SYNC.Today, I ran, and phone DOES NOT SYNC with new account neither... then I "factory reset" and it does sync with new account, but it DOES NOT SYNC with old account.
Because since it messes up using the wireless and you can't view the details on the website. So I have been using the usb and now all of sudden it doesn't sync the workouts.
I can't find any info on if there is some special way to sync the workout using the usb.
My question is syncing with iTunes: does the Motoactv does this automatically, or is there some kind of workaround you have to go through to get it to pull your iTunes songs into the device? I haven't used my iPod for about a year, and I was always under the impression that you could only transfer iTunes purchases to an Apple device.
so my Motoactv broke - I got a new one... went through set up - it included the option to "add device" which I selected my new workouts wont sync to the on line site - wifi works - and I plug it in to sync - both sya successful sync but they dont show up on my account on line?
Whatever the case maybe I dont have the "sync now" option on old workouts I can view these workouts on my device but cannot sync them to the web. How do I sync these workouts to the web??
Since updating my motoactv (a uk 8gb model) last week I have been unable to sync fitness data either wirelessly or through a usb sync with motocast usb.As the forums have been down I havent been able to seek any help but I even tried a factory reset and still I cant sync my data.
I got my MA yesterday and have had one workout. Whenever I try to sync it, it says Connecting and Starting Sync, but then it says something like Sync Error or Connection Error. I have tried syncing using my home WiFi network (with password), my HTC One X portable hotspot (without password) and USB, but nothing works.
I have a brand new Macbook Air/ Motoactv 8G ( ver. 4.55.78 ) and try to connect to Motoactv on the web. After the install of MotoCast and the creation of the ID I try to go in the Motoactv web side, but no way. I Have my Firewall OFF, under Sharing: Share your connection from MotMobile / To computers using Ports F100. Is there something more that I have to switch to sync Motoactv with my device?
After the last update my computer brought up a screen saying to enter in my Proxy information. This is the first time it did it and I don't have any proxy information. Since then my motoactv will connect to my network but won't sync the data over wifi. If I use usb I can sync music but no fitness data. I tried the basic stuff like forgetting my network or using my phone as a hotspot but nothing worked. So i deceided I would do a factory reset. I would only lose one day of data plus one run and one golfing outing. I do the factory reset and now it won't connect at all. It gives me an error code 360.Now to my GPS problem. Before the update it would lock on in 10- 15 sec. Now it takes almost the full 5 min and sometimes it won't do it at all. Everything was fine before the update.
I just got a new laptop and can not get the motocast to upload correctly or sync to my device. I called and was on the phone with the technician and he said someone would call me, it was upgraded to a tech 3 level. nothing so far.In the meantime i am still working out but have not metric..So I pull out my old computer that runs on Vista and viola it updated and synced! Is it possible that the device can only be synced on one laptop?
I can not sync my motoactv app from my droid razr. I keep getting the following error"could not reach the server while attempting to perform synchronizationlese try again later."My phone information is as follows:system version 6.12.173.xt912 verizon.en.uswebtop version 2t-2.0.0-139kernel version: 2.6.35.7-g61e35wwbulid number 6.5.1-167_dhd-14_m2-5I can connect via bluetooth to my motoactv device and receive phone calls and notifications from device. From the app I have setting set to sync over the cellular network and not wi-fi. I can sync from the motoactv device to the motoactv website over us
I just got my Motoactv but I'm having a lot of trouble setting it up the way I want.Among other things, it isn't syncing the way I choose. I selected which playlists I want to sync to the devive but it has still taken in a ton of additional music that I don't want. I do not want podasts on the device. I do not want anything other than the playlists I choose. How do I fix this?
My new vehicle has a USB port that I can hook the Motoactv to. The system plays the BonusTracks playlist rather than the playlist that contains all of my downloaded songs. The same thing happens when I use the USB with my laptop. How can I change the system to use a playlist other than Bonus Tracks? Or how can I move all my music to the Bonus Tracks folder?
For the last few weeks whenever I go out for a run my music pauses on it's own. I then "un-pause" it and have to turn the volume back up and carry on. In some cases I cannot get the music to resume at all and I have to restart the moto. I have also found that if I start my music before I press start for the workout the music will pause when I press start. Initially it has been doing this under 10 times per 2 hour run. This morning it paused, without exageration, nearly 100 times. Needless to say I was cussing like a sailor for the duration of my run.
Can the MotoActv stream music from the Android Phone? I was thinking about the device and wanted to know if can just stream music rather than having to load music on the device as that would be easier for me.
Few days ago I want try listen some music but it can not play! No reaction at all! Also FM radio, show "No Signal". I try reset factory and change the headphone but still have this problem.
Just bought the 16g Motoactv and went to use it for the first time yesterday and couldn't get any music to play. I hear the notifications saying "workout started" ect and the FM radio works fine, but any music i synced or even the "bonus" music that came with the device will not play. there is a play symbol showing up on the top of the screen but no music plays and when i go to the progress bar it reads 0:00 and does not move... any suggestions, this is driving me crazy seeing how i have not even gotten to enjoy this device once yet!!
So this morning I was getting ready to go for my morning run and for some reason I could not get any of my songs to start playing. I switched out the headphones and still no luck. The weird part was I could hear the "beeps" when I changed the volume of the audio to higher or lower, but the music would just fail to play. I did try other songs and even the ones that came with the device. None worked.
I shoud note, I took the device on a long 18.5 mile run Saturday, the music played fine.. But it might of gotten a bit sweaty?
Is it possible to remove music from the "My Performance Music" list? I have removed certain songs from my MOTOACTV, and don't care to have them listed any more.
"MOTOACTV cannot connect to the server. Please try after sometime." when trying to sync fitness data. Tried with the USB cable as well, not working either. Is the service down?
i've searched and have tried everything possible.*connecting the device to either a PC or MAC, after having factory reset it multiple times, does NOTHING. device isn't seen, nothing mounts, nothing at all.i've tried:- uninstall/re-install motocast with device connected AND disconnected.- let win7 install drivers BEFORE motocast install (just plugging device in).- install motocast BEFORE letting windows install drivers (uninstalled everything, reinstalled motocast before plugging device in).- all of the above steps on both PC and MAC.- all motocast files/installs are of the latest versions directly from motorola's website.this is getting insanely annoying. is there something i'm forgetting to install? motocast includes the wireless and USB connectivity, correct?
*also, after installing motocast THEN connecting my device, the motorola adb interface driver attempts to install a second time but fails - it succeeds when installing motocast initially. i'm assuming this is where my issue lies as far as my computer seeing the device. when searching for the driver, though, i'm simply instructed to download motocast.
My iTunes playlists do not show up when Motocast USB launches. As such, there is no way to sync music to my device. I've been on the phone with Motorola for many hours over many days with this issue, but they haven't been able to resolve it. The issue is currently being sent to the "engenieering department," and I was told it could take weeks to get a response.Other than this issue the device works fine.I can manually add music to the device, but a $250 fitness MP3 player without playlists? No way.I've un/reinstalled the Motocast USB software several times and made sure my iTunes is up-to-date, but it seems that the two programs are not communicating with one another.(note: I have the MOTOACTV 8GB model and my macbook pro is running on OSX 10.7.2)
