"MOTOACTV cannot connect to the server. Please try after sometime." when trying to sync fitness data. Tried with the USB cable as well, not working either. Is the service down?
View 2 RepliesMy internet connection is fine, I can use the webiste, it connects and everything. It just won't sync. It won't even do it over wireless. I tried restarting the device, restarting my comp, resetting the modem.Any ideas? View 2 Replies View RelatedHad my motoactv about a month. Traveled from the US to ireland. Did a successful sync of one run here. Changed the watch to local time, and did another run - now I'm getting "Fitness data sync failed." The motoactv software tells me to check the logs for more details. I do. More details = "Fitness data sync failed.". Not a very helpful 'more details'. I'm assuming this has something to do with the time change, but upon setting the time back to Eastern, it still fails.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI bought the 16GB MOTOACTV, and I've been struggling for days to get it working. After countless restarts, uninstalls, reinstalls, configuration, etc., I think it finally works... except for one thing. The device fails to sync fitness data through MotoCast USB. Every time I connect, a window pops up titled "Connection Error" that says "Your MOTOACTV device cannot connect to the internet."
Of course, I've updated the device software to MA 1.6.12 N16 and Motocast to 1.2.9 (with Motcast USB at version 1.7.0151.0). and I've let everything related to the MOTOACTV through my firewall. The music sync works, and I can see all my playlists from iTunes and Windows Media Player, and I can even sync the fitness data through Wi-Fi (Settings->Wireless->Workout Sync->Sync now).
I just got done reinstalling MotoCast and MotoHelper 2.1.40 Driver 5.5.0, and that didn't help, and I've done a factory reset and tons of reboots. What else is there that I can try?

As of today, my month-old Motoactv will no longer sync my fitness data either through a direct USB connection or Wi-Fi network. I've synced many times over the past four weeks both ways without any trouble, but after today's run, I tried to sync and nothing happens. Motocast USB will start up when I connect to my PC, it will attempt to sync, then returns with this message:

When I attempt to sync via Wi-Fi, I get the error: "Network Error. Internet Connection unavailable". Everything was working until today. Now, neither options work.
Scheduled a fitness test on the website yesterday, it DL'd to the Motoactv, I ran it - and it uploaded to the Motoactv site as a run.I'd like to start a training program, but I can't as it hasn't registered my fitness test.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've only had my MOTOACTV for a few weeks, and its been slowly developing my fitness music playlist. I thought this was a really cool concept when I got the device. Now the issue is, I have a lot of music on my device that I just like to listen to on a regular basis, but not so much during a workout. When I was working out and those songs that kill my buzz play I skip them, but even with a second of playtime, it logged the music with my average heart rate and activity during the song... which then placed the song into my fitness playlist.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there a plan to incorporate support for the ANT+ Fitness Equipment Device profile? Seems that this is the only fitness related profile that is missing from the MOTOACTV. I would love to be able to use this device primarily with the Concept2 Indoor Rowing machine (as well as some Spin bikes at the gym). The Concept2 monitor software supports the FE profile and it would be nice to be able to pair the MOTOACTV to track the many meters that I'll be rowing this winter indoors. In addition... just a future thought... the accelerometer would open up the possibility of using this device as a stroke coach for on-water rowing (i.e. stroke cadence)! Nothing wearable exists like this on the market for us rowers...we have to log our workouts manually and don't have a means to retain detailed metrics such as power graph over time etc.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter my MOTOACTV 8GB came from warranty (from Moto, obviously), Motocast USB offered me an software update. I ran before the software update and sync'd to my motoactv.com account.After I installed the software update, my Motoactv DOES NOT SYNC with my account.I tried everything: sync with my laptop (Mac OS X Lion, last update), sync with wi-fi, sync after power off/power on, sync after reboot (start+power), sync after reboot of my laptop, sync after "factory reset". DOES NOT SYNC.
Then I tried a new account on motoactv.com. Now it does sync!The I tried to login to motoactv.com page -the new version is UGLY and DOES NOT WORK in Mac OS X Lion' Safari, why we need ads on that page? I BOUGHT, I OWN one MOTOACTV 8GB- and I can login to my old account, all my OLD info is there, but I want to put my new info, my new stats there.The watch does sync with my new account, DOES NOT SYNC with my old account.Then I tried to "factory reset" and to sync with old account... STILL DOES NOT SYNC.Today, I ran, and phone DOES NOT SYNC with new account neither... then I "factory reset" and it does sync with new account, but it DOES NOT SYNC with old account.
How do you sync using the usb?
Because since it messes up using the wireless and you can't view the details on the website. So I have been using the usb and now all of sudden it doesn't sync the workouts.
I can't find any info on if there is some special way to sync the workout using the usb.
My question is syncing with iTunes: does the Motoactv does this automatically, or is there some kind of workaround you have to go through to get it to pull your iTunes songs into the device? I haven't used my iPod for about a year, and I was always under the impression that you could only transfer iTunes purchases to an Apple device.

Whenever I try to sync it, it says Connecting and Starting Sync, but then it says something like Sync Error or Connection Error. I have tried syncing using my home WiFi network (with password), my HTC One X portable hotspot (without password) and USB, but nothing works.
I am using Windows 7 64bit.
I have a brand new Macbook Air/ Motoactv 8G ( ver. 4.55.78 ) and try to connect to Motoactv on the web. After the install of MotoCast and the creation of the ID I try to go in the Motoactv web side, but no way. I Have my Firewall OFF, under Sharing: Share your connection from MotMobile / To computers using Ports F100. Is there something more that I have to switch to sync Motoactv with my device?
View 12 Replies View RelatedAfter the last update my computer brought up a screen saying to enter in my Proxy information. This is the first time it did it and I don't have any proxy information. Since then my motoactv will connect to my network but won't sync the data over wifi. If I use usb I can sync music but no fitness data. I tried the basic stuff like forgetting my network or using my phone as a hotspot but nothing worked. So i deceided I would do a factory reset. I would only lose one day of data plus one run and one golfing outing. I do the factory reset and now it won't connect at all. It gives me an error code 360.Now to my GPS problem. Before the update it would lock on in 10- 15 sec. Now it takes almost the full 5 min and sometimes it won't do it at all. Everything was fine before the update.

I called and was on the phone with the technician and he said someone would call me, it was upgraded to a tech 3 level. nothing so far.In the meantime i am still working out but have not metric..So I pull out my old computer that runs on Vista and viola it updated and synced!Is it possible that the device can only be synced on one laptop?

i've searched and have tried everything possible.*connecting the device to either a PC or MAC, after having factory reset it multiple times, does NOTHING. device isn't seen, nothing mounts, nothing at all.i've tried:- uninstall/re-install motocast with device connected AND disconnected.- let win7 install drivers BEFORE motocast install (just plugging device in).- install motocast BEFORE letting windows install drivers (uninstalled everything, reinstalled motocast before plugging device in).- all of the above steps on both PC and MAC.- all motocast files/installs are of the latest versions directly from motorola's website.this is getting insanely annoying. is there something i'm forgetting to install? motocast includes the wireless and USB connectivity, correct?
*also, after installing motocast THEN connecting my device, the motorola adb interface driver attempts to install a second time but fails - it succeeds when installing motocast initially. i'm assuming this is where my issue lies as far as my computer seeing the device. when searching for the driver, though, i'm simply instructed to download motocast.
My iTunes playlists do not show up when Motocast USB launches. As such, there is no way to sync music to my device. I've been on the phone with Motorola for many hours over many days with this issue, but they haven't been able to resolve it. The issue is currently being sent to the "engenieering department," and I was told it could take weeks to get a response.Other than this issue the device works fine.I can manually add music to the device, but a $250 fitness MP3 player without playlists? No way.I've un/reinstalled the Motocast USB software several times and made sure my iTunes is up-to-date, but it seems that the two programs are not communicating with one another.(note: I have the MOTOACTV 8GB model and my macbook pro is running on OSX 10.7.2)

From what I have read, music from Apple's iTunes and Window's Media Player can be used to sync music and playlists. Does anyone know if this also works for Songbird?
A big reason I switched to Android 2 years ago was to finally drop iTunes and WMP has never been a very appealing tool for managing my music. It strikes me as odd that an Android device would be dependent on an Apple or Windows product but perhaps I am misunderstanding this.
I have previously been syncing my golf workouts automatically with success. Recently, the rounds (workouts) will not sync. I have tried manually initiating sync from the device (runs forever) and syncing USB (times out) without success then tried reseting the device to factory. We're on 4 days now that the portal has been non functional, and this is really frustrating. It would be nice to have some way to get at my data. The moto is a whole lot less useful without it.
