Motorola Motoactv :: Syncing Songs From Itunes - Protected Songs?
Mar 2, 2012Whenever I try to sync my playlists onto my MotoACTV from Itunes only half of the songs make it. I received a message stating that "662 files are protected" so they did copy over. How do I unprotect those songs? I have looked in Itunes and cannot find out how.

Aug 7, 2012I've owned the MotoActv for two month, I got the mysterious "moisture issues" that everyone seems to be getting even though I've never used it in the rain. But the thing that is driving me nuts is the music. When I hit random shuffle of all my songs, I hear songs I don't want to hear... song that I do not own on my computer. Where are these songs coming from? Today I heard "Boot Scoot Boogie!" I abhore country music as does my wife. Doing a computer wide search shows no evidence that the song exists on my computer. Yet there it is playing in mile four. Other mystery songs have showed up too. The performance music playlist seems to be filled with songs I never heard of, yet evidently I perform well to them.

Jul 17, 2012what the improved pause functionality is? I'm pretty sure my watch updated correctly (but I don't have it with me to verify as I write this), and the new pause sure seems identical to the old pause. There was a thread a while back where people discussed ways to reduce the likelihood of prematurely ending the workout by hitting the "end workout" touchscreen button, and cool things that could be made available at the pause screen. I saw "Improve "Pause" functionality during workouts" as one of the improvements with the latest software, and got excited that some or all of those suggestions had been implemented. I have pressed all buttons and swiped every which way and have not found any changes.

Feb 8, 2012Since updating to 4.55.97 on my 8GB it doesn't seem to Auto-Resume after an Auto-Pause. This worked before, but on my run today it Auto-Paused at two stop lights when I stopped, but after starting running again it wouldn't resume on its own and I had to press Start to get it going again

Dec 6, 2011When can we expect more maps for the rest of the world? E.g. Asia? Australia/NZ?On Motocast USB, I only see a way to sync entire iTunes playlists to the device. How can I select individual songs? And what if I don't use iTunes to manage my music? There's a post titled "How do I load music on my MOTOACTV", which states that there should be an "(NO NAME)" drive on my desktop when the device is connected, and I'm supposed to be able to just drop songs into its "Music" folder, but there is no such device appearing on my desktop/finder. I only see a device called MOTOACTV, but I don't see an obvious "Music" folder there.

Jul 25, 2012It doesn't happen all the time, but the last few times I have run my motoactv just starts scrolling through songs and won't stop. Also, it will be playing a song and then suddenly go to the same song over and over again. Then there are times the songs just stop.

Feb 8, 2013I've had my MotoActv for one week. When it first arrived, it would not turn on, but I assumed this was a battery issue. After charging it for a while, it turned on, and I had no problems. I worked out (walks/jogs) about an hour a day for the past week (no rain, only minimal sweating) and didn't have any problems with it.

Sep 13, 2012Had a 19 mile training run today. The device was set in marathon mode and I was using a bluetooth headset. After mile 17 the battery was at about 20% and the tracking got very weird. The distance measure got really inconsistant and the pace was way off. When I look at the data, the elevation went to 0 and it drew a straight line from that point to the finish. The only thing I can think of was that the GPS receiver was turned off. Has anyone seen this? If this is a setting, how can I turn if off? When I finished the battery was at 10% and music playback was never interupted. I am using software version 1.7.12 N8

Nov 30, 2012On my previous Andorid device, Froyo running on an HTC Desire, I was able to insert a puase field in a phone number. That way, I can use my long distance provider, that requires the user to call their number, wait for the prompt, then enter the long distance number I wish to dial. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be any way to do this on my new phone, as the phone numbre imput pad only allows for numbers and nothing else (the pause would normally be a comma or the letter p).

Jul 12, 2015you installed 5.1 believing the hype that latest means greatest and found out that 5.1 is not better than 4.4.4, simply different. You found out some of your apps don't work, your battery life took a hit for the worse or even your hardware does not perform as well as it did on Kitkat 4.4.4. If you installed the OTA for 5.1 and you are happy, this is not directed at you; just continue to enjoy your new OS. I have taken the time to read from many different sources and viewed several videos on You Tube that test side by side Kitkat 4.4.4 vs LP 5.1 and it shows conclusively that Kitkat out.
If you know for a fact that LP will offer you something specific that you need take the plunge but at least take the time to check what LP will mess up that you are now enjoying on Kitkat, the information is out there easily found, in closing: if you are sitting on the fence and have not yet taken the 5.1 OTA read and view videos so when you make your decision at least you will know what you will be getting and losing.

Sep 3, 2011I just got my photon about a week ago and I have been having some problems. First, when I slide open the phone I more than frequently get a long freeze. It will take sometimes up to 15-20 seconds for the phone to open. I thought it this was fixed from the update, but it started to happen again. Then, when searching for a name in my contacts, it takes upto 20-30 seconds to find the contact if it finds it at all. I know these bugs seem minute, but they are definitely annoying. I am also getting the random restart on my phone.

It used to be handy for dialing extension numbers, authorization codes etc. but they seem to be ignored after the update.
