On my previous Andorid device, Froyo running on an HTC Desire, I was able to insert a puase field in a phone number. That way, I can use my long distance provider, that requires the user to call their number, wait for the prompt, then enter the long distance number I wish to dial. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be any way to do this on my new phone, as the phone numbre imput pad only allows for numbers and nothing else (the pause would normally be a comma or the letter p).
Unless I'm missing something, a comma no longer functions as a pause in the dialing system for a saved contact since the update. It used to be handy for dialing extension numbers, authorization codes etc. but they seem to be ignored after the update. There is also no apparent way to edit a phone number with any character other than the ones on the dialpad.
is there a way to do this on the electrify I cannot figured out. i used to be able to do this on a blackberry when dialing voicemail and putting in password
I just got my Razr Maxx and have a question about the voice to text. When I talk, it cuts off on me after only a short pause. My friend has this phone and it doesn't cut off on her that fast. Is there a way to set the length on how long it stays on before it cuts off?
Way back when, when I had the original Droid, there was a plain phone icon for the direct dial short cut in the original software before the first upgrade. It was the shape of an old style telephone handset, the kind you'd find on a pay phone (for those of you who know what that is/was). I'd like to find one like that again and replace the tiny contact face pic with the various symbols and shading covering it of the native direct dial icon.
if I dial a contact via the Razr's voice command using my Bluetooth headset, the call connects, but neither party can hear audio. If I dial by selecting the contact manually, using the same Bluetooth headset, the call connects normally and audio is fine. The headset is a Jabra 250 and I don't have easy access to another Bluetooth device at the moment. Can't tell if this is a sw or hw issue on the Razr or the headset (which is an older model but still works just fine with original Droid Razr).
After lust update to JB phone shutdown. Now if i push down power button it just light up LED for a couple of seconds and vibrate two times, then phones turned off again. That's all. Screen doesn't even show first Moto logo.
Am not finding a version of flash that is happy to run on this device. Os is android 4.0.4, on an XT90 handed. Am I just being daft and over complicating this?
I put my Droid Razr in a stand on my desktop, usually in horizontal, landscape orientation.I'd really like it if I could get the home desktop to rotate. Is there an option setting that would allow the home screens to autorotate when the phone is sideways?FYI: the fake dock toggles downloaded from the Play app store stopped working last week; I assume because of the "maintenance" update from Verizon (though I haven't actually checked to see if I got that or not.
In the three weeks since using my device the motorola contacts software has been losing name to number associations such that following a new contact entry the name associated to the number RANDOMLY breaks meaning I am losing names from my contacts but the number string remains in my call log. This has happened to approximately 20% of new entries. The same process has been followed each time. The number/name can be re-inputted subsequently and the problem does not repeat. No pattern is followed it just happens- its not time dependent either... I'm baffled and losing contacts?
I've got the Droid RAZR HD MAXX, and was wondering if anyone else is experiencing stuttering on the home screen. Specifically, it happens when swiping to the Quick Settings and Manage Pages screens. After I swipe once to the screen, it seems to be smooth when going back and forth, it's just the initial showing of the screen when I notice it. Then going to different apps and then back to the home screen, I'll see it happen again. It's not a deal breaker, but it just makes the phone seem "slower" than it actually is. Also, the Circles widget seems to look choppy at some points as well, during the weather animation or when flipping the clock.
The screen goes to sleep after the specified time (default of 30 seconds, I have not changed that) even when on a call (both normal calling or when on speaker) Problem is, the only way to activate the screen again is to hit the power key, but this also hangs up the call. Is this a feature/bug, and is there a way around this issue? I don't really want to change the time to sleep to a longer time, as this would waste the battery for other use.
After installing an app called WIFI Analyzer and seeing all the AP's in my neighborhood I wanted my home network in a less congested area of the spectrum. I changed my home network and now I can't see my AP? The only thing I can think of is that the Razr Maxx does not support 5GHz as I see from the product spec page that N networks are supported.
I can't find any aid to mounting my new Patriot SD card. I've tried reinserting the card several times and the phone still doesn't see the storage. It just keeps telling me to remount the card.
For some reason my text didn't save when I first posted this, so I'll try again:
My issue is that Google Play Music seems to save all cached music to the internal memory of the phone, and not the external SD card. Android can see this external SD card fine, and in fact saves any photos to it, so there is an issue with Google Play Music's visitbility of the SD card.
with my HTC Desire S, Google Play Music cached to the external SD card no problem.
Something real strange happens when I turn my phone off and on again or if it reboots for any reason.Three (all Android Market apps) of my shortcut icons on the home screen are replaced by a blue generic looking icon. They still work as shortcut though. The way to fix this is to delete them from the home screen and then set up a new shortcut: The app icon shows up as expected.......... until the next time I turn off my Razr. Annoying to say the least.
