My wireless does not broadcast its SSID - but it appears that the MOTOACTV will only allow you to connect to a WiFi that's broadcasting it.
Is it possible to manually add your WiFi when it does not broadcast the SSID?
I have my home network set to "disable SSID Broadcast" which make my network name invisible when a device including my phone scans for wi-fi's; when I enable SSID Broadcast my phone can see the network name and it can connect to it when I input the network password...no problem so far, works perfectly! but when I disable again the SSID Broadcast then the phone gets disconnected. I try to connect to the network with SSID Broadcast disabled (the phone shows a wi-fi location with no name but stored which I assume it's mine) I type the SSID name and password but it won't connect again until the SSID Broadcast is enabled.
For security purposes I like to keep the SSID Broadcast disabled but then I can't connect my phone to the network. I have 2 desktops, 1 laptop, a Xbox and a Wii all connected wirelessly; I don't know why is not working with my phone.
I have just bought an Atrix 4g european version. A great phone, but is there a bug in the operating system ? (2.3.4 was preinstalled) When I try to connect to my home network via wifi and the router is not broadcasting the SSID, the phone cannot connect. When I change the router so the SSID is being broadcast, the phone can connect and has an "excellent" connection. My other mobile phone (HTC diamond 2) and laptop can both connect to the router when it is not broadcasting the SSID, so the router is okay.

If I turn off broadcasting, I know its still there - I have laptops and an iPhone that still find it an can connect to it. But my new RAZR doesn't seem to know how to locate/connect to it .
What settings do I need to change to get this to work.
I have searched extensively but have not found the answer to this so if I missed something i apologize. Can workouts be manually logged on the Motoactv website? The reason I ask is I am concerned about the accuracy of the pedometer so If I choose to do a workout at the gym can I then just manually enter it on the website based on the information from the treadmill.

It needn't be too complex or detailed, just time, distance (if applicable), calculate pace, and maybe a free text area for notes or titles of events.

View 2 Replies View RelatedId been looking on the net all morning to try and figure out why i couldn't connect to a hidden SSID. I found that this is still an issue, there are a few workarounds. I tried the hidden SSID from the market and it dosent seem to work, just says that it cant find the SSID. Since I have access to the router, i enabled the SSID to broadcast, then turned it back off after I have connected it. It seemed to pick it up after it had connected to it once. However, im hoping that it wil be the same way in the morning.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI prefer to hide my wireless SSID but when I do this my android devices don't see the network. Even if I am already connected with my Xoom then switch to hidden SSID mode the Xoom disconnects. Same for my HTC Thunderbolt. My network is shown in the list of remembered networks as out of range. When in hidden mode. This does not affect my laptops.
They stay connected if I switch to hidden mode and they have a setting to connect to hidden networks that have previously been configured. I cannot find a setting for hidden network support on either android device. Hiding the SSID is not a new concept. Is this not supported in the android network stack? I have a strong random PW on my wifi so I am not terribly worried about it but I would be nice to have the option.
Everytime I attempted to add my wi-fi network the program crashes and has to restart.The devices that the most recent update. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program. I have also retarted for the computer and device. why the Motoactv program keeps not responding when I attempted to add a network?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm having problems with MOTOCAST in Windows XP. It will not recognize any of the 3 wi-fi networks in my home when I search for networks. The computer sees all 3 of them just fine and can connect to any of them. MOTOCAST and my MOTOACTV device work just fine on my work computer (running Windows 7). I can upload to MOTOACTV just fine at work and can see the work wi-fi network. Problem is only on the home networks. Unfortunately, getting on the network at home is most important because that is where I workout. Additionally, I can't sync my workouts to the MOTOACTV website at all from home, not wirelessly and not via USB. MOTOCAST permits me to see the music files on my computer and sync with them but will not sync to MOTOACTV via the web. Not a problem on my work computer.

I've synced many times over the past four weeks both ways without any trouble, but after today's run, I tried to sync and nothing happens. Motocast USB will start up when I connect to my PC, it will attempt to sync, then returns with this message:

When I attempt to sync via Wi-Fi, I get the error: "Network Error. Internet Connection unavailable". Everything was working until today. Now, neither options work.
I'm a new android user. The problem I'm having is that when my wifi drops out or if I come home the Internet on my phone does not switch back from mobile data to wifi. I'm with bigpond and I have put the password into my phone and I don't need to put the password in each time but when I go to wifi settings it says sign in required and I press connect and the wifi turns on. As soon as I come home or the Internet drops out it switched back to 3G and doesn't connect back to wifi unless I do what I mentioned above.
The advanced setting on the wifi are
Proxy-none
Ip settings DHCP
Signal strength- very strong
Security wpa2 psk
I also have the smart network switch toggled to off. I have reset my telstra router.
I've wasted a lot of my mobile data this week before I realised that when I left the house or the net dropped out my phone was staying on 3G and not switching back to wifi the way my iPhone and every other phone I've owned did.
I am using Nokia Lumia 1020. It has been having a trouble auto connecting Flight Mode. I can not use my mobile as a result of that. It connecting automatically WIFI connection as well. I can not off both Flight Mode and WIFI manually as they connecting automatically.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI've owned the MotoActv for two month, I got the mysterious "moisture issues" that everyone seems to be getting even though I've never used it in the rain. But the thing that is driving me nuts is the music. When I hit random shuffle of all my songs, I hear songs I don't want to hear... song that I do not own on my computer. Where are these songs coming from? Today I heard "Boot Scoot Boogie!" I abhore country music as does my wife. Doing a computer wide search shows no evidence that the song exists on my computer. Yet there it is playing in mile four. Other mystery songs have showed up too. The performance music playlist seems to be filled with songs I never heard of, yet evidently I perform well to them.
