I changed over to K-9 to give it a try and I regret the change.It DOES NOT notify me of the arrival of email; I have to check manually, I've tryed every setting.I cannot inactivate the default email program; I've changed the settings and they revert back.The settings in K-9 are "cryptic". First class folder, second class, display class, etc.I just want to get my email and be able to delete the trash easily.

When I receive a meeting invite via my Google mail client on my D3 it comes in formatted differently than my Google mail client on my laptop. I do not get the option to accept the meeting invite to my calendar, specifically Yes, No, Maybe. Is there anything I can do to get this functionality back in the mail client for the D3?
Second if I download the .ICS file that accompanies the meeting invite, and try to apply it to my calendar, it defaults to the phone's calendar rather than my Google calendar. Is there anyway to change this so that the Google calendar is always the default?
Having problem downloading attachments with default email app. When clicked on the app says it is 'fetching' the document but often never works. I can go to a browser based client for, say yahoo mail or comcast mail and the attachment is quickly downloaded. Why the default email app is having this problem?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure how to describe this annoyance, but hopefully someone knows how to resolve the issue.About a month ago I received a spam Email (AOL) which I have linked to the default Email client.I deleted the Email without opening the Email but ever since the header appears everytime I receive a new Email notification in the systray.Fortunately it wasn't anything of a comprmising nature just a sales pitch for the "Original Orgreenic Pan".I've tried removing the account as well as deleting the email cache to no avail.

Anyway, does anyone know the default download folder if you save a ringtone from a text sent from someone, like the Verizon site? I mounted the phone and it's no where on the SD Card. I also have a graphical interface app for the system folders and can't find it, but there are so many folders and no search feature. Anyone happen to know where a file would save by default? Reason being, it saved twice, so I have 2 copies on the list and I would also like to copy the file to another folder.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have just 'upgraded' from my trusty DroidX to a Droid Razr Maxx HD (what a mouthful).The new device has a nice screen but (apart from the backside) the overall finish / design is nowhere near as elegant as the DroidX. Sigh.My question is this: on my old trusty DroidX the external SD card that came with the device was already pre-configured as the default location for all app data (I'm not talking about the app executables), the camera storage (/DCIM etc), music and my own files (text, excel, pdf etc). On the new Razr Maxx HD there is an internal 'SD Card' (how can an SD Card be 'internal'?!?) and this is the default location for all data files.
After some snooping around I found that the internal 'card' is at /mnt/sdcard and the external card is at /mnt/external1. How does Verizon/Motorola expect a consumer find out this or work with this information?Of course, I can go into camera settings to re-point the camera to store photos on the (real) external SD card. But the screen capture utility (power and volume down) still writes to the internal area - as does the Download capability (ie from email) - and as do all other apps for their 'data' files (remember, I'm not talking about the apps executable files here).Is there a simple way (for us non-rooted phones) to set the true external SD Card as the default destination for all data files? The current set-up is sooo frustrating. I can't just whip the SD card out of the phone and know all my data is in this one place.
Is there a way to make the list of forum topics default to sort by last activity? I can't find this in the settings.

I can't seem to find that on the D4 and it would nice to have as the phone's default in call volume seems to be 100% which leads me to be continually turning down the volume on every call.

Yesterday it would not let me change it back. I'd do the wallpaper selection routine and pick one of the other stock images, say set wallpaper and when I'm done the old red is still there. Then all of a sudden a few hours later it decides to let me change the image.
New member so forgive my mistakes. I have read the other threads on the above issue and they seem dated. I want to delete the original Gmail acct that the tech set up and use my regular gmail account without doing a factory reset to defaults.When I bought my Motorola Atrix at Costco in April 2011 the tech deleted all my phone contacts, data, and photos when trying to transfer to the Atrix. Then he set up a new required Gmail account for the Atrix and gave us the wrong password and security answer which I can not recover despite numerous tries with Google.I have another Gmail account with a good password and it is also on my Atrix. I can access both Gmail accounts on the Atrix because the unknown password is stored somewhere on teh phone. I cannot access my account settings to determine the correct password for the Gmail account I want to delete.What I'm really trying to do is somehow link my Atrix phone number to my regular Gmail and Motoblur acconts so I can use the Android Market from my PC and other functions. I cannot find anything on my regular Gmail account that allows me to link my Atrix phone with that account. It appears the phone is linked to the original Gmail acct the Costco tech set up and that I cannot acccess any settings on. The only settings (from both Gmail accts) I can access are the general ones that control notifications, rings, and messages.
My solution was to delete the account that I don't have a password for and then I would then a way to add my Atrix to my regular Gmail acct as the new Atrix acct or visa-versa. I will keep it screwed up if the only option is to reset to facotry defaults and lose everything. In a related question is there a way to transfer all my Atrix data to the micro SD card and then take it out and then reset?
I am with Verizon and have the Razr Maxx. Using the default text app I am sending out texts to friends who almost always respond quickly.
However, I am noticing that a lot of them are not replying. Sometimes they get them, sometimes not. I ask them to reply so I can make sure they got the text, but no reply. If I text my wife, she recieves the text ok and replies to my phone. The text messages sent show a "sent" status.
The phone was set up by the salesperson, and when I email off of Contacts, it defaults to Gmail. I don't use Gmail, but can find no where to change the default email account. Was this done during the set-up of Gmail? Do I need to delete the account and set it up again.

I would like these files to automatically download to the download folder on my sd card /mnt/external1/downloads. Is there some setting that would allow this?

Recently my SD card got full while I was taking pictures, and so the new saved pictures were moved automatically to the internal memory. Now, each time I take a photo or a video, it is automatically saved to a "DCIM" folder in the device storage (the photos taken with the Facebook app are saved in the same folder too).Since the folder changed, I have problems with camera apps like the default camera app, the facebook camera app or the paper camera app. They freeze each time I try to take a picture.I also have a problem with the gallery app, which cannot upload (display?) the photos and videos I took anymore. It is refreshing, but nothing shows up.I would like to restore the default gallery folder in the SD card, so that each time I take a photo or a video, it is saved in my SD card.

And my question is ... is there a way to set Google Music as default player that accepts bluetooth commands?My typical use case - when I try to play music using bluetooth system in my car, I have to manually open Google Music from the phohe, otherwise standard Motorola Music app would take over and play. The prior gmail account I was using is beginning to be inundated with spam and it has got to go.After searching I've found this: go to home. Click grid. Click all apps. Click email. Enter a new email, pop etc. There is no option for anything of the sort and from that point the grid button doesn't do anything. This makes very little sense.Is my phone permanently associated with that gmail account? Can I drop it and add a new account or not?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIdeally, any time I make or receive a call I'd like for the screen to be automatically turned off as if I always immediately hit the "screen on/off" button once the call was active.
To describe in more detail: I want the screen to turn off independent of how close it is to my ear. If I want the screen on, I want to have to hit the "screen on" button. This would prevent me from ever accidentally hitting screen buttons when I position the phone on my collar during calls as opposed to holding it against my head.
After reading the posts here about assigning a different texting app rather than using VZWs stock texting app, I decided to try it. I disabled the stock app, which DID remove it from the lock screen. It left a blank space. When I dragged down toward it, it opened the camera app instead.
I noticed in Manage Apps> App Info that there is a selection called Launch by Default/No defaults set, and a button marked Clear Defaults. This section is grayed out in every single app in manage apps; how to enable it? I'd like to disable VZW text messaging, and enable Google Talk in its place.
Secondly - after the ICS update, I now have multiple references to the same apps in Manage Apps>All Apps. There are three separate references for Backup Assistant Plus, and two for Google Maps. Looking at App Info, some are the old versions (pre ICS) and some are the new ones (post ICS). Is there a way to delete the old references and clean things up a tad?
I just got out of a live chat w a Motorola rep, and they had no answers either. Or maybe I should quit digging into the phone and just enjoy it? LOL it's like picking at a scab.
