I tried a google search but really couldn't find an answer. I started using the Swiftkey beta software, it allows personalization based on usage. So now I'm wondering if there is a security issue using this type of software? Can passwords be gathered using this software and transmitted back along with the web page and all my account information?
View 12 RepliesNow that I have ICS, I am debating whether to keep my 3rd party home screen replacement or use the stock one. Looking for opinions from this group. Also, are we limited to the 5 home screens stock provides or can we add more? OAN: So far, my battery life is MUCH improved and I got the update yesterday so if it still needs a few days to "settle" in, then I'm going to be one happy D4 owner. It also doesn't get as hot as it used to.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis really bothers me. I cannot figure out how to disable this. I disable the Motorola input app but it still shows up in the notification bar every time I type anything. I am using SwiftKey 3. The setting to unchecked Motorola input is Grey so it will not a allow me to fully disable it. Does anyone else using a third party keyboard know how to get rid of this?

Words with Friends and a couple other apps(I'm not sure which) are saving other people's and my user icons and random other pictures from advertisements to my gallery. I'm scared I'll show my friends my phone or something, which I do, and one will ask "why do you have pictures of me saved to your phone?!" It's not the Social Update gallery, I turned that off.

All 3rd party apps (google maps, gmail, Facebook 1.6, opera, etc...), text messages, phone calls, and browsing on BB's native browser work with no problems when using the data connection. About an hour or so later, all the 3rd party apps have data connection failures yet text messages, phone calls, and browsing on BB's native browser still work fine. If I pull the battery the 3rd party apps will still work fine using the data connection until about an hour or so later and it stops again (requiring another battery pull).

View 2 Replies View Relatedwhen I am using the qwerty keyboard (not touch screen) it is either not responding when I press a letter, or after several presses, when it does eventually respond, it displays a letter or character different from what I am pressing. Its basically to the point where my keyboard is useless. I have to hit the same key at least 5 times before it shows anything. It will sometimes skip letters that I'm typing and just display the next character. for example, I can be typing SLOWLY, hitting one at a time, spelling t-e-x-t and it will show up e-t, or something along those lines. Ill backspace to go back to the beginning to add in the missing letter and Ill hit T over and over and over till it eventually shows up, or some random character will show up.

My wife has recently experienced a bug with the stock Keyboard where it will phase in on top of her screen with out the keys (No letters) for no reason. She noticed it a few weeks ago and because it only happened once or twice thought nothing of it. Recently it has gotten progressively worse and seems to act up the most when her phone is in the Dock(Desk Top). She has not DL any Keyboard APs or any none market APs.
View 11 Replies View Relatedso I've been waiting for an update to the update to fix all the little quirks i have had since the GB update....but this just started about a week ago and i cant wait for a general fix.....when i type in a txt or on a web page the keyboard shuts off.....it seems to happen when i finish a word and hit the space bar to move on.....i thought it had some thing to do with the auto guess of the next word but i don't know how to turn it off to check it out.....i have restarted the phone.....i removed apps that updated since the problem started......tried may things short of a factory reset.......

View 3 Replies View RelatedLooked thru the archives and couldn't find this topic. My DROID X started locking up last night when I was doing an email. It's locked up several times today, too. I've been trying to see a pattern to it. Email or text messaging, it's when I hit one of the punctuation keys. Either the period, question, or exclamation mark, each time. I've not put any new apps on my phone since Wednesday. Anyone else have this happen? Suggestions on how to stop it or fix it? Only way I could get out of it was to power it off, but this last time, I had to pull the battery as it wouldn't even power off.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI have two Droid Pros. Overall I'm relatively happy with the phone minus a couple nagging problems. I have noticed some of them being fixed with the two updates I've experienced.The single most annoything aspect of this phone, however, seems to have gone uncorrected, yet it's a simple fix. The fact that the keyboard is too close to the soft keys.When typing an email or text, it's not uncommon for my thumb or finger to accidentally it one of the soft keys (such as the home key). Obviously, at that point it immediately jumps to the home screen. Thankfully my message isn't lost. However, why not merely add a verifcation dialog if any of those keys are hit during a keyboard input operation? This seems like a very obvious and simple fix...and I know there are lots of compaints about this keyboard on Android forums, etc.

When I slide my keyboard out, my screen instantly scrambles. It is a pitch or catch as to whether or not the screen corrects itself when the keyboard is then closed. If it does not correct itself, and turning the screen off does not resolve the scramble, I have to pop the battery.
