I have had my Droid Turbo with Android 5.1 for about 6 months and recently it has begun to frequently refuse to charge on either the USB or official Verizon wireless charger.
I can set it on the wireless charger and both the charger and phone recognize each other, but in the morning...no charging has taken place.
I can usually force it to accept a charge by restarting the phone while on the charger.
I apologize if this has been addressed already, but I've reached my limit of patience with search engines and forum web sites for one day. The issue: on a Motorola Droid pro, running 2.3.2, CompanionLink's Outlook sync ran reasonably well, although it required some odd steps which they claim are driven by the OS. After the Android 2.3.3 update, CompanionLink (AKA DejaOffice) fails consistently and without useful error output. The software on the PC side does not recognize that sync has started on the device side -- which is how it's supposed to work on a Droid -- and never runs to completion.
The PCs in question are running either Windows 7 Pro 64 or Windows XP. Both exhibit similar symptoms. CompanionLink tech support has been useless -- by definition, since they haven't solved my problem. They appear to be being slammed with a large number of cases reported and have no plan they're willing to discuss to address the problem. So: (The two most common, turning off bluetooth and turning off USB debugging, don't work for me, by the way. Already tried 'em.) Any other product for syncing at least Outlook contacts and calendar with Droid?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy phone called someone in the middle of the night while I was sleeping. It has made a few other calls during the day without a requests from me. In addition if it hears music it starts sending a 3 bell ring and on screen asks if I will not speak more clearly. At times it talks and says "Speak more clearly." The screen sometimes shows a cloud when interrupting and other times a mic. I think this may be due to a malfunctioning google assist. I think it thinks music is my voice. Sometimes I am taking pictures with it and it hears music causing it to change from the camera mode to ring 3 tones and say speak more clearly. The calling and interruptions are nuisances.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSometimes, perhaps just a couple times a week, I will hit the power or Home button to wake my phone and the screen will be very, very dim for 5 or so seconds. After that, the screen will be the normal brightness and the phone behaves normally. Most of the time, the screen pops on right away, and I can't find any correlation that explains when this might happen. It's not related to the environment's brightness, as AFAIK. It seems to be completely random.I have the screen brightness manually set at the lowest setting. Auto brightness is turned off.I got my X2 with the original Froyo firmware, and didn't see this happen until the current 2.3.4 firmware. But the older firmwares weren't current for very long, so perhaps it would have happened if I'd used the older firmware versions for a longer time

Using it on Verizon's 4g network, and have discovered a really annoying issue: When playing audio across a bluetooth connection (either to a droid roadster or my 2012 chevy sonic), there are occasional skips in the music. This happens about once every 4-6 seconds, and the cutout is brief, about 1/8th of a second. It does not happen for phone calls, nor do the skips happen if I disable bluetooth and listen via the built in speaker or the headphone jack.
Wifi is disabled, and the source of the audio doesn't seem to matter. I've tried Pandora, Tune-in radio, and locally saved music, same result. It's not the network, as I just upgraded from a Samsung Droid Charge (also a 4g phone) which does not have this issue. I've unpaired from all sources, and re-paired, rebooted the phone, tried while charging / not charging, enabling gps / disabling gps, everything I can think of to isolate the issue. This phone is my in-car entertainment device, and if I can't use it for it's intended purpose, it's useless to me.
More recently, my droid turbo has been turning rainbow colors instead of black with the time when it's charging. If I press the lock button myself, the phone will lock and stay black with the time. If I unlock my phone and let it be, it'll turn to the rainbow colors. I have my phone on the turbo charger when this happens!

I have successfully established the connection, but often have to reboot the phone in order to get the connection established. At this point, I have been unable to figure out the pattern of when I can no longer get connected. I have turned off all Smart Actions that manipulate the GPS connection, I have tried leaving it on all the time, or off when I am not outside, nothing consistent that I can figure out.

First thought was my Razr just had its first freeze/reboot but the sound was still going and the jellies still marching toward my precious gems. Instantly realized my Razr was ignoring me. Tried my side keys and they worked as usual, sound keys toggled sound up and down and lock key locked/opened power menu but was unable to select any options as the touch sense was still out to lunch. It's been almost a half hour and the screen is stuck on the lock screen and won't even dim. Which coincidentally is a good thing b/c it's way to much work to pull the battery on these things .
View 2 Replies View RelatedOn day two of owning my X2 I got a error when it tried to read the external SD card. I called Verizon and they had me format it on my laptop. I did this and then reloaded my 4 gig of music back to it. Yesterday evening it did it again and now Verizon is sending me a new card. In the mean time I am using a 1 gig card that I had left over from my Storm. The first thing I noticed is when I transfered the music from my laptop to the 1 gig sd card via a card reader the transfer rate was near 6 meg. When I transfered my music to the card that is bad the transfer rate never got about 2.5 meg. I now notice after listening to music for the last 4 hours at work it never skipped at all. I had very frequent skipping with the original card. Another thing I noticed is the phone doesn't lag at all when I am listening to music.

I want to take full advantage of HD video camera on my Droid Turbo, and found an external lavalier lapel microphone (Audio Technica 3350iS, which comes with an adapter for "smartphones including iPhone and newer Android phones"). But even when I use the adapter, the video recorder will only use the phone's on board mic. How can I disable/mute the onboard mic? Scoured the interweb, and at one point there was a perfect app "Mute Mic", but the NSA or Google or Motorola decided it was too useful to live.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAny way to increase (and maintain) a louder volume from the speaker while using speakerphone or Bluetooth speaker? My Maxx was awesome!! I thought for sure when I got the Turbo it would be equivalent.
I often find myself disappointed in the output. The really strange part is that I swear that it changes somehow. One phone call on speakerphone is great. Same number calls back later and not so much! I didn't change anything. I then try to increase my volume to no avail. My Bluetooth does that as well watching a YouTube video. I can start the video nice and loud. Stop it for a bit to return later and I can't hear the dang thing.
I use all factory Android software without any additional apps, etc. for volume controls. All levels are set to high. No droppage or any damage to the speaker or phone.
I used to be able to just use the side volume control and turn it all down and it would mute the ringer but allow notifications for texts and emails. That, suddenly has gone. I have tried everything I can think of to do. Setting priorities does nothing. The moment that the ringer turns off, the vibration icon grays out. I get it back if I turn the ringer to its lowest setting but I do not want that. At work, having just the vibration running for calls and texts was perfect.
View 3 Replies View RelatedOver the last couple nights I've noticed that my Turbo won't charge overnight. I often read or play games before bed and it seems if I have a few apps open and then plug it in it won't charge. If I close all the apps down then I've never had a problem.
I've also noticed it freezing up at times and then rebooting by itself if I don't close open apps.
The phone is great and at this point I don't care about Lollipop. We've had 2 S5 go bad with Lollipop and until they get the bugs all worked out I'll keep munchin the kitkat.
I have a droid turbo and it won't let me make my own music my ringtone. I've put music in the "ringtones" folder and it wont show up on my phone. I've had music in the folder before and had my own ringtones but when I tried to add more of my music to the folder or completely switch out the songs it didn't show up on my phone.
