I am stuck in fastboot after the phone went dead. It says:

I've noticed this happen several times before, but if I'm connecting/disconnecting to headphone jack or bluetooth, all media volumes will go silent (resuming a podcast, music, etc), and turning up/down the volume has no affect. The only fix I've found is to pause everything, go to the homescreen, turn the phone volume (which appears automatically) down, then go back into the app and press play. However, sometimes I can't turn the phone volume down on the homescreen because only the media volume appears, even after I close the media apps (even from the recent menu from holding the Home button). Even going into Menu > System Settings > Sound > Volumes and adjusting everything there made no difference. I had to make a phone call, hang up, then go back to the homescreen, turn the phone volume all the way to mute/vibrate, then turn it back up and go back into my media app and the media sound would be restored. It's really frustrating and considering how often I use media apps and how often this happens, I'm considering ditching the Razr Maxx and getting a non-Motorola phone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy RAZR M seems to have problems establishing a GPS connection. I have successfully established the connection, but often have to reboot the phone in order to get the connection established. At this point, I have been unable to figure out the pattern of when I can no longer get connected. I have turned off all Smart Actions that manipulate the GPS connection, I have tried leaving it on all the time, or off when I am not outside, nothing consistent that I can figure out.
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo there I was saving an alien world by killing one jelly at a time when my screen completely quit responding to touch. First thought was my Razr just had its first freeze/reboot but the sound was still going and the jellies still marching toward my precious gems. Instantly realized my Razr was ignoring me. Tried my side keys and they worked as usual, sound keys toggled sound up and down and lock key locked/opened power menu but was unable to select any options as the touch sense was still out to lunch. It's been almost a half hour and the screen is stuck on the lock screen and won't even dim. Which coincidentally is a good thing b/c it's way to much work to pull the battery on these things .

View 6 Replies View RelatedHowever, recently, when I switched on my phone, it switched to Webtop mode, even though it wasn't connected to my dock nor to any HDMI cable. This happens every time I switch my phone on, and has been happening for a week now. The only workaround I've been able to find is to go to the Display menu, check and uncheck the "Enable HDMI cable detection". It works perfectly fine after that.

View 13 Replies View Relatedsince ics i can no longer control flash video on the web (sites like blip.tv). the video plays fine but i can't full screen it nor can i access the video controls (pause, stop, position)on the web, when you go to you tube, the video has controls at the bottom (play/pause, volume, and the status bar showing where you are in the clip) and when you full screen it, they're still there. on gb when you went to a flash video and hit play, the video would automatically full screen with the status bar on the bottom (status bar being the time counter showing how much you've played, what is left and your position.) on ics now when you play a video it simply plays on the page with no access to the controls or the ability to full screen the clip.
with Internet i obviously have an app but with web content (news, and blip.tv) it not possible as far as i can tell. sometimes i wanna pause and fast forward or rewind and that ability is now gone.lip.tv is the big one for me, i watch a lot on there. but when i go there now on my phone, chrome won't play at all and the stock brower shows the little cinema logo. when i click the logo, the video plays fine but small and still embedded in the web page. i can't pause or stop without leaving the page, i can't fast forward or rewind and i have have no time counter to know my video position. it's extremely frustrating. and double-tapping does nothing. on gingerbread this was simply automatic. you hit play and it goes fullscreen, you have the video position bar at the bottom (slider that let's you ff or rewind) and a ply/pause button. they would disappear after while and come back with a tap
I am not at all happy with ICS. To me, the upgrade to ICS is a nothing more than a bunch of pretty colors and a few new animations. In actuality, however, I think that the upgrade delivered little in terms of improvements. In fact, I wish I could undo the upgrade and go back two weeks, to a time in which I felt the Razr Maxx was virtually flawless and was the best phone I ever had.Elsewhere in this owner's forum I have written about the way in which business contact names are now scrambeled in the contact list. Others are having problems with battery life, overheating, poor navigation, etc. However, the biggest failure of the ICS upgrade, as I see it, is the loss of the ability to view Flash encoded videos in either the native browser or in Dolphin.
With all of the hype about the upcoming release of ICS, why didn't anyone warn the customers that Flash would no longer work with ICS and that this upgrade would essentially hobble their device? Motorola did mention this fact buried in a pre-release notification, but it was easily missed:Due to Adobe's discontinuation of Flash development, Flash Player is no longer preloaded and is not available for download from Google Play to this device. Existing installations of Flash Player may or may not play Flash video properly. Alternatively, the new HTML5 standard is supported for Web video.
I know ...Adobe is pulling Flash Support from Android devices, BUT since all the other 4.0.3 and 4.0.4 Devices i tried work with flash i think its something motorola could fix (With help from Adobe maybe).bout the Problem:Every ICS Version (Even the new "leaked" EU versions...) for the RAZR has working Flash Buttons/Menues ect. but embedded Videos don't work (Check for yourself on southpark.com or ESPN). The Videos Buffer/Load but the screen stays black...maybe some hardware acceleration thingy.Flash does work on Samsungs SIII and the Nexus...as well as some 4.0.3 Tablets i tried.Since the Nexus has about the same hardware (cpu/gpu) as the razr there must be something wrong on the motorola part.Oh, and about flash: Latest Version from the market ! Same on the other devices.

View 13 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone have any ideas about why Moto might have decided to kill Flash on our phones before it was necessary? It's not an ICS thing, because my GNex still has Flash and it works well. I know that Adobe will not be allowing new downloads from the Play Store starting on 8/15 (but they will still be providing bug fixes for those who already have it) & that Flash Player is not supported in Jelly Bean, but what gives with Moto killing Flash in our ICS update? Now, whenever I visit a page that has an embedded Flash video in the browser, it crashes the browser. :(
Addl. details: Basically, when you upgrade, the Adobe Flash Player app gets uninstalled from your phone. If you reinstall it from the Play Store, it won't work for embedded videos on websites. Unfortunately, many websites still use Flash for their embedded videos. :( Hopefully websites will start switching over to HTML5. This isn't just a bug.. there is an actual process running on the phone called FlashRemoval that Moto slapped in there. I expect to get Jelly Bean ASAP, since Moto prepared the phone for not having Flash so early. ;)
Upgraded three family DX's this weekend to the RAZR MAXX's and so far pretty pleased. My wife's phone has an interesting "feature?" which I haven't been able to figure how to turn off. When she has an unread email (either GMAIL or or local internet provider mail) periodicaly when the screen is locked and off the screen will turn on for a second and then turn off like a reminder notification. Obviously a battery killer. I've looked through all the reminder features including the add-on we use "Light Flow Lite" which we use for missed calls and cannot find where to turn this off.

I was sent to the email settings page and asked to enter my password. Did that...still get the same message. I found a thread in this forum (since have been unable to relocate it) where someone suggested disabling a need for two step authentication in google and another said to do a factory reset. how to do either of those two things.
View 4 Replies View RelatedGreetings, my phone recently froze on me, and I couldn't even reboot by holding down the power button. Instead I opted to reboot via the Power Button + Volume Down method. This forced it to shut down, but upon rebooting, the phone is now in a loop. It shows the Droid at launch, then makes it to the red eye, but after sitting on the red eye a moment, it freezes, then restarts the cycle again.
Things I have tried:
Forcing another reboot via Power + Volume Down Going into the Boot Mode Selection to use Normal Power Up Going to BMS and trying Recovery (Wiped data/factory reset) Attempted to enter Safe Mode (Didn't seem to work, cycled again at eye) Fastboot Lastly, tried launching to Tools in BMS. Same as above.
At this point I am at a loss as to what to do. I would like to not have to send this out, and to fix it here, but is it comes to that, I guess I'll take it to Verizon and see about getting it shipped out, and getting a replacement.
Oh, also this is a stock phone, the only "modifications" I had was Go Launcher and Go Lockscreen. I was, when this happened, going to check my Google Reader app, and that is when it froze on me. (Never had it happen before this)
The effect Airplane Mode has on the GPS and mobile network radios. Specifically, is it possible to use only the GPS in Airplane Mode, leaving the other radios off, or must I disable airplane Mode and deny data access (leaving the mobile radios on) in order to use the GPS?

View 6 Replies View RelatedHey, my battery meter (the stock ICS one) is stuck at 90%.Did a 7 hour trip yestereday with several phone calls and when I went to system, battery it showed 90% after like 12 hours off the charger, including a hour of phone calls and I know that's not right. The phone calls do not show up as taking any power. This morning after several reboots still shows 90%.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhile attempting to update to 2.1 through SEUS, the installation failed, telling me that my battery was too low. The phone is now stuck in flash mode, the SE logo flashes for a brief moment, then I am met by a screen with a phone and an Exclamation Point in a triangle for awhile, then the phone restarts and does it again.
I have obviously tried removing the battery and trying again. SEUS has the same result every time I attempt this. I have also installed PC Companion, and one of two things happen 1) PC Companion completely hangs my Win7 (32bit) machine, or 2) Prepares to repair the phone, and while 'preparing', an error pops up and directs me to the webpage.
I really hate how I have to choose a set time to have my phone go to sleep. I watch the stock market while I am working at my computer and using my phone and it will automatically go to sleep after a set time that only goes up to 10 minutes with the new ICS 4.0.4. Why can't I deactivate this? This is really annoying.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought the HDMI dock (not HD station) and while I'm plugged in with it to my tv my phone keeps freezing. The screen turns black on the tv. I imagine it's because it loses the HDMI signal. I have to do a hard reset. This is not some random thing. It always does it while I'm on the internet. Or the facebook app. I can stream Netflix without a hitch but as soon as I jump on line the phone freezes. Could it be the phone? HDMI dock? Or the radio shack HDMI cable and mini HDMI to regular HDMI converter? Right now I'm connected to the HDMI dock but not on mirror mode. Just using my phone. I wonder if I connect the HDMI cable straight to my phone will the same thing happen? I'll try and report back. I just trued connecting te hdmi cord straight ti te phine and no freezes. Only problem is unlike when im connected to the dock the screen on to the tv is not full size and vídeo quality is not good. I used the web top app and it never froze. It only happens in mirror mode.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI dont get when we're told about an upgrade, that you find it acceptable to TAKE AWAY features? i have been choosing Android over Apple for years for things such as USB Mass Storage mode. I know people who plug their phones in USB to their car CD Players and use it as if it were a flash drive. Now those users who may just have purchased a new phone are now screwed. You add features for upgrades not remove them. I am shocked and truthfully appualed to see where this new type of developer planning can lead to. Next were going to get pushed onto the cloud. If I'm going to remain an Android enthusiast and recommend Android to others you will not take away the things that brought me to Android! I could seriously put my Env touch before ever getting the FIRST OG Droid in Mass Storage Mode.This is not being posted to ruffle the feathers of users on this forum. This is intended as a wake up call to the developers to realize it was us phone enthusiasts that started this smart phone revolution anyways. We ousted Blackberry when they started acting like a bunch of tools. Don't do the same.

Have tried starting in landscape and rotating to landscape and rotating back and forth, but no luck.Also dialer, when it is on a call will only show in portrait mode.
