Motorola Droid Razr :: Repair The Screen As Long As The Overheating And Battery Not Holding A Charge Was Looked Into?
Sep 5, 2012
We send a droid razr for repair on 8/22 and it was received on 8/24. Received an email at 11:03 on 8/27 that the problem with the phone is not covered under the warrantee and to contact Motorola as soon as possible to authorize and pay for the repair. I agreed to pay $125 plus tax to repair the screen as long as the overheating and battery not holding a charge was looked into. Today I called to see what was going on and was advised that she (rep) has no idea and would send an email and get back to me within 24-24 hours. I advised that was not acceptable and I was sent to the Repair Escalation Department, Curtis advised me the exact same thing and when i explained that my phone has been with Motorola since 8/24 and they have had my payment since 8/27 and that originally I was advised that the repair would be done and the phone back to me within 5 business days and we were now at 8 and I needed to speak to a supervision he stated that he was the supervisor and there was no one above him to talk to. Someone please explain how I am getting the same exact information (none with a 24 to 48 hour wait time) from customer service and the Repair Escalation Department?
I bought an iPhone 4s in November 2013. The phone is through Sprint. (didn't know if that made a difference or not.) In the past 7 months the phones apps have been opening & shutting right down, the app might stay on for 2 minutes if you're lucky. It started out with my Facebook app shutting down, then it progressed to other apps & the repeated random shutdowns have been getting worse. The phone itself overheats without even being plugged into the charger. The Safari is now beginning to close randomly. I called my carrier & they said that they could run a diagnostics test on my phone to see what's making it do what it's doing. Since the phone has been shutting down & randomly shutting apps off for over 7 months, they've ruled out the option of it being a bad software through Apple.
Taking a screen shot requires holding the power and volume down buttons for a few seconds. Couldn't it be done by just pressing them? Also, it should take the screen shot when the buttons are released. As it is now, everytime I force a reboot, I also take a screen shot.
Brand new Car Dock and Razr. Installed and all good working no problems for first 2 days, then when I dock the RAZR it does not change to the car navigation screen or start to charge.Power light on the power cable. RAZR charges and transfers data via other cables.
I bought the extended battery - P893. It was fully charged when conneected to my phone. My phone had @ 10% batter life left. The extended charger bumped the charge up to 60% with no extraneous processes running. The delivered cusomt smart action for the extended battery was activated. That seemed a bit low given the product description and mention on the boards of delivery two full charges. I fully recharged the battery. When my phone was depleted to 20% I connected the extended battery again. The charge was brought up to 60%. Their was no charge left in the battery extender.
Since I've updated my razr maxx with ICS, my phone has been heating up more than Gingerbread. I have no apps running in the background. I also have been having problems with 4G cutting out and I will have to go into and out of Airplane mode to get data access back. I have received the official update:
I've noticed since the update my phone does get a little hot when I've got the screen on (acutally using the phone). Since Saturday I've noticed my temp getting over 120 and i will get a Display Thermal Warning which i have never seen before. The screen is hot to the touch as well. It's a bit frustrating since I'm not using the phone any differently than normal and I'm having to stop what I'm doing to let it cool down a awhile.
My battery is not holding charge, i have replaced battery and it is still running out really quickly. How do i find what is running and using my battery and how do i stop them running?
I bought this phone for my son for Christmas and despite having it on charge for a few hours it still shows that there's 56% battery charge then once you unplug the charger the phone won't turn on, completely dead! Tried to check software but when I plug it into laptop it just says device unplugged, the only time I got it to recognise it it was unable to find device driver software. Must admit its completely put me off this phone before we've started, I champion Nokia all the time but wish I'd bought him an iPhone now!!
I upgraded my phone software to 6.0 Bundle 2949 last weekend and since then I am having to recharge my phone 4 to 5 times a day. As soon as I open facebook, camera ect the battery completely dies and turns it's self off. This morning for example it was fully charged - had charged over night. Left for work at 7:30am, took one phone call - 5 mins, sent 2 texts. By 10:30am my phone had switched it's off. It's driving me mad and I can't be without my phone as I am pregnant and need it to get in touch with partner etc.Now I onlu upgraded the software because the battery wasn't holding it's charge but it was 100% better than it is now.
I have read through threads and have removed the battery repeatedly and even left it out.Removed the SD card and sim card and nothing. In fact in last an hour after charging it for the second time today and I never even used it!I am not technical but I desperately need help!!Is it worth trying to downgrade the software? - if so is there a dummies guide to this? Do I return it to o2 for them to see if there is other problems with it?I have shut down all apps other than the ones that remain there at all times. I check this regularly especially if the battery loses charge quickly. I am finding that it is fully charges within 20 mins from the battery being completely drained (turning it's self off) to being fully charges.I still have 9 months left on my contract before I can upgrade but I can't cope with it like it is now. I love blackberry but after the problems with this one am tempted to switch!| have also noticed that the desktop software has upgraded too!
The dreaded fast battery drain finally starting happening to me the past couple of days. Last night I checked the battery usage and noticed something called 'RILD' was using up 14% of my battery life. What is it? Can you get rid of it? Why was it appearing last night but today after power cycling my phone it's no longer on the list of battery uses?
In addition I noticed that it seems to be taking much longer to charge my battery now than it did before. My car charger seems to be ineffective at charging even though it appears to be working correctly. The light on the charger is lighting up and my phone's indicator is showing it as being charged. But after 30 minutes of charging it hasn't budged the battery meter one iota.
I'm an iphone 3G and since it was purchased was no longer holding charge, is fairly new, it was never used properly, since the battery lasts less than 3 hours ..
Today she showed me that her lock screen was lagging every time she swapped to unlock it. This is kind of annoying especially for a dual core phone. We did find out that a quick reboot fixes the lagging for a while. Is there a fix for this besides rebooting the phone?ssue #2While looking at the battery usage on the Razr, I noticed that Android OS is using the majority of the battery this seems incorrect. I have checked my original droid and other android phones, yet I have never seem the OS use more or anywhere close to the display usage.
Below is a screen shot from my Maxx. I don't know if the screen consumption is ordinary, but I am surprised that the screen alone is causing substantially more than half of the battery drain. I have the brightness set on auto, and I turn the screen off every time after I finish using the phone. Is this consumption normal?
I have a DroidX and my screen was recently cracked when it fell on a tile floor. I called Motorola, and they do screen repair but the technician I spoke with informed me that they would have to reset the phone to do this, which would affect my text messages I have saved. It normally wouldn't be a big deal, but I have several text messages from my father, spanning over 6 months, which are very valuable to me because he passed away quite suddenly two weeks ago.My question is: Would there be any way to repair the screen without having to reset the phone? I am willing to purchase a screen repair kit and give it a go myself to try to save these messages. They are one of the only things I have left of my dad.
Since using ICS on my RazrMaxx When checking email it takes forever (ok 4-8 minutes) to connect and check the mail. It is a gmail based email set up under messaging. Battery Life has dropped dramatically. No universal volume controls for messaging and calls (For example if I want to adjust my phone ringtone to be very soft by using the rocker switch on the side it now only controls just the phone ringer. Messaging would still be at the volume you have the settings at. Previously the rocker switch controlled all volume.)
I thought ICS was suppose to extend battery life? My MAXX wont last very long lately since the ICS, And its suppose to have a very long battery life, what happened?
My phone doesn't want to charge. I replaced the charger and it worked for a few day and now its not working again. Earlier today it would only charge to 30%. Now it will only charge to 20%.
After getting my RAZR back in February I decided to get the Lapdock 500 through Verizon. Now while the ladock is fully charged and pluged into AC power, and set to prioritize the phone's battery life, the phone's battery just drains and my SmartActions that are set for when the phone is charging are turning on and off, again and again.
I posted this a few days ago but when I updated it in the original post, it did not go to the top. So I am starting a new post with a link to the previous post.
I've been turning my razr off and plugging in the charger ( in that order), and I get the big blue battery with the percentage of charge in the center. the problem is that it won't charge a few nights ago I plugged it in when the phone was it 20 percent, and when I woke up in the morning it was still at 20 percent this morning I noticed that I was using an old usb charger that came with my blackberry could this be the problem? before I try going down to the vzw store and overpay for a charger I want to make sure that it will work.I have a droid razr with ice cream sandwich
My iPhone 5 is over heating on charge and it is no longer showing anything on the screen. I was using it when the screen went white and it hasn't worked since. I have tried to both restart it and to restore it. as the screen doesn't not work it is hard to tell the condition of the phone. However it occasionally makes the lock noise when pushing the lock button and also occasionally vibrates when operating the side switch. I can not leave it plugged in on charge as it gets very hot and it is no longer recognised in iTunes unless i put it in recovery mode.Â
confirm if I am meant to be able to charge my Razr Maxx from a computer usb port?I have tried an HP laptop (4 different ports), a Macbook Pro (2 ports) and an Imac (3 ports). When the phone is on, it says its charging but does not seem to increase charge. When out of battery I just get white led light.
When I look at the battery use in Settings/Battery Information it shows items such as WIFI at 4+% ( WIFI not even on) or a game I played (today Jewels Star at 25% - only was to make this one disappear is to uninstall the program, this is true with any game I play). My question is, is this information about what WAS running or information on what IS running. or both.
My iPhone 4 takes 4-5 hours to charge from a wall plug and from the computer, it used to be only 2 hours but now it takes super long to charge, what's wrong?
I just bought an iphone 5c, and it came with its battery dead. How long should I charge it for the first time? In Colombia they usually tell you you should left it at least 8h. Is that necessary?
Obtained my Droid3 two weeks ago and I'm now finding that it will not charge.Long story short: I did not charge my device for 2 days straight, upon complete epletion of the battery's power I hooked it upto the wall charger and noticed that the screen turned on with the droid symbol and subsequently the charging icon. I left it to charge, and after a while when it was upto 15% I attempted to turn it on by pressing the power button (without holding it down), which caused the screen to go black and ceased the charging.ow whenever I try to charge the device via the wall charger, the white charging LED (between the microUSB and miniHDMI inputs) turns on occasionally and remains there for an hour, after which it goes off again. When I try to charge via the computer the same thing happens, except after 45min or so of charging, the device repeatedly connects and disconnects from the computer USB (the usb connection and disconnection sounds ping repeatedly until I unplug the device). This also happens when I try and turn on the device while charging via USB.
Normally after 45min of charging from the computer the device will turn on, with the Droid logo appearing and system activated. Now it will not turn on at all.I have tried removing the battery from the device for at least a min and then recharging, I've also tried removing and re-inserting the battery while the Droid3 is connected to the charger to no avail. To replicate the situation, I've left the battery without charging for a period of 48 hours, and then tried to charge it again via wall charger; same problem: the white LED turned on for about an hour and then went out. The device did not turn on this time. My suspiscions are on the battery..The phone is a great piece of hardware and I've grown to love it, yet I had honestly no idea it would be susceptible to such trivial conditions 3 weeks out of the box. I've ordered an extended battery just in case
