Below is a screen shot from my Maxx. I don't know if the screen consumption is ordinary, but I am surprised that the screen alone is causing substantially more than half of the battery drain. I have the brightness set on auto, and I turn the screen off every time after I finish using the phone. Is this consumption normal?
View 9 RepliesOn Friday, Feb 24 I started having a problem with the battery dying after 4 to 5 hours. If I caught it as the phone was about to die I stuck it on the charger but noticed that it was taking longer than normal to charge as well. I checked what was eating up my battery and it said the process that was using the most juice was called "evbridge". I thought it was possibly an app that I had downloaded so I reset the phone to stock. No dice. (Note: My phone is not rooted.) I looked online and noticed that others that were having this problem owned a Lapdock. I have a Lapdock and use it frequently. I tried ending the "Webtop Connector" service to no avail. The only was I can get normal battery life is by restarting my phone.
I wasn't having any problems for the last couple months that I've been using my Lapdock. I did, however, receive an OTA update shortly before I started having this problem. I have also noticed that my phone gets oddly warm when the evbridge process is running. Roasts the leg pretty good.
I haven't been using my RAZR Maxx so it's been sitting on my shelf powered down. Generally when I have a phone not powered, the battery will stay charged for weeks. On this phone, it is draining to zero in days from a full charge. That doesn't seem normal.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI was running GB on my phone since I purchased. Battery life was fine. Used upto a complete day with normal usage and heavy usage lead me to end up around 12 - 15 hours. It is normal. After few day of usage (About 2 weeks) I found battery starts to drain faster. Ok then I gave a factory reset. Oh amazing, I got the battery life back same as when I purchased,After a month I recieved update of ICS. Wow it was fantastic. It gave me the creeps. My normal usage went a day + . after a week I feld the same battery drain issue. What I could guess? guessed it might be a problem of installing more and more apps. Ok from this point onward, I was aware and wanted to check it out. Gave a factory reset again. fueled the battery to its maximum.
Installed any software the I must need. Oh I could not believe. see the screen shot how my normal usage was.. (1 day + 19 H) same devil has came back after a week.Battery started to drain fast. See the screenshot I got now. It shows 50% usage for last 6-7 hours. As to my calculation depends on best usage, it shoule be only 20 to 30 percentage. what's the hell is going on ??
So, for the past few days, when I wake up in the morning, I have found that the lower half of my screen is flashing. I use the AlarmDroid app and have done so since I got the device in February, so I didn't think that this would be the cause. It will flicker for a while, then eventually stop, so I can't just take it to erizon and show it to them. It only seems to do it first thing in the morning when I wake up (plugged into the charger). I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, but no change. The only thing I can think of is that a couple of weeks ago my phone would not restart, so I had to reset to factory defaults. This started after I did the factory reset.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThis phone is nice but the battery life has been miserable I've had it for a month and yesterday I was at 4% battery with only 2 hours of screen time and the battery screen says the screen is always using 33% of the battery. I have turned brightness to low and set timeout to 15 seconds and its still the same thing. I also wiped the cache partition and charged the battery overy night with the phone off and nothing changed.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have done the reset and the restore to factory settings and manually reinstalled my apps. The battery continues to drain. It will not last a day without recharging. Usage shows Safari is taking up the most of the battery usage. Safari is not open, yet it takes up most of the battery. This is both before and after the restore to factory settings. I did not restore from back up in case the back up was corrupted.
FYI- I have an iPod Touch which is doing the same thing. I took it to the Genius Bar and it was replaced due to a firmware issue. The replacement is now demonstrating the same issues. Restoring to factory settings and manually reinstalling all of the apps worked for a while, but it has now reverted to the same behavior. It had none of these problems prior to the update to iOS 8.

My phone has started to freeze, when I pull the menu bar down, when I am in apps, just any time. when it freezes, the buttons do not work. The battery dies within an hour of being off the charger. I do not know what to do, or why it has started to do this.

I usually watch Netflix in bed then go to sleep. In the last week, I occasionally wake up to find my batter drained (down 80+%) overnight. According to GSAM, the culprit is Android Core Apps. Not sure what that is. I thought maybe Netflix was still downloading, but that's not Android Core Apps.
This is Nexus 6 on 5.1.1 using mobile radio only (no wifi).
Is it normal to drain 18% in 1 and a half hour with constantly use (radio, messenger, and 1-2 more apps) lowest brightness .. Im always thinking its draining too fast.

This has happened to me everytime I have tried it. I love the lapdock and would love to reliably be able to use it to view Netflix content, but this issue makes that very difficult.

I mean I guess I'm noticing that after friends' have published their photos on facebook its almost taking 2hrs before "My Gallery" shows up. Some of my friends update takes almost half a day to show up and other friends show up pretty immediately....so very random. And believe me I've reformatted the Cell Phone and removed my Facebook acct and cleared app data/cache and sometimes it works but not all the time.
How can I remove just the "email account on My Gallery". After a reformat occurs you can set up your Facebook Account "Gallery" to syncronize to, of course, your cell phone within My Gallery. You can add/remove Facebook all you want but it seems the "My Gallery" option is greyed out; once you activate it I cannot find a way to dis engage it.
Today she showed me that her lock screen was lagging every time she swapped to unlock it. This is kind of annoying especially for a dual core phone.We did find out that a quick reboot fixes the lagging for a while. Is there a fix for this besides rebooting the phone?ssue #2While looking at the battery usage on the Razr, I noticed that Android OS is using the majority of the battery this seems incorrect. View 3 Replies View RelatedWe send a droid razr for repair on 8/22 and it was received on 8/24. Received an email at 11:03 on 8/27 that the problem with the phone is not covered under the warrantee and to contact Motorola as soon as possible to authorize and pay for the repair. I agreed to pay $125 plus tax to repair the screen as long as the overheating and battery not holding a charge was looked into. Today I called to see what was going on and was advised that she (rep) has no idea and would send an email and get back to me within 24-24 hours. I advised that was not acceptable and I was sent to the Repair Escalation Department, Curtis advised me the exact same thing and when i explained that my phone has been with Motorola since 8/24 and they have had my payment since 8/27 and that originally I was advised that the repair would be done and the phone back to me within 5 business days and we were now at 8 and I needed to speak to a supervision he stated that he was the supervisor and there was no one above him to talk to. Someone please explain how I am getting the same exact information (none with a 24 to 48 hour wait time) from customer service and the Repair Escalation Department?

But I'm "HEARING" that LTE introduces a significanly fastert battery Drain. I currently have a DROID X and am able to get though mots of a day w/o having to recharge - minimal Phone use (maybe 4 calls a day), mostly web browsing, social networks, messaging, etc.
View 6 Replies View RelatedEvery once in a while (has happened 2 times in as many weeks) the phone or dialer APP will suck battery and throw off my typical discharge time WITHOUT me ever placing a call (let alone opening the phone interface). For example, as shown in the attached, I'm down almost 70% on just 19 hours and change of use, with just 2.5 hours of screen on time, with the phone app draining 7% without any phone usage. Typically, I can make it 24+ hours with 4+ hours of screen time on that level of battery drain.
Aside from those instances, battery has been great on L. Used to get, typically, about 26 hours before charging at 25%. Now, I consistently get 29+ hours on the same usage.
- Left half of screen randomly freezes while on.
Once this 'feature' activates, the right half of the screen will be updated, but at a very choppy rate. Only resolution is to reboot the phone.
Doesn't appear to have any correlation to apps I'm running. Has happened running Waze, gmail, and simply flipping through home screens.
This happens at least 2 to 3 times a day, and started happening after receiving the OTA on Saturday. Have had the 64GB version since mid-November. Has been rock solid until this past weekend.
Tried wiping the cache partition, but issue still occurs.
I thought ICS was suppose to extend battery life? My MAXX wont last very long lately since the ICS, And its suppose to have a very long battery life, what happened?

My question is, is this information about what WAS running or information on what IS running. or both.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI frequently hit adjacent keys while texting on my old Droid X. A larger screen and of course 4G and a faster processor were appealing as well. As the Razr HD models sport screens almost as large as the S3 I ran to see them on their first day out of the gates. What a disappointment! Holding my old Droid X up against them I saw that the usable screen sizes were identical. Namely 4.3" unless playing videos in which case the video filled up the Razr HD's 4.7" screen. I couldn't find anything else that would fill up the screen. Perhaps, photos might. But internet browsing, texting and whatever else I tried occupied a 4.3" inset within the 4.7" screen. So why have a 4.7" screen at all? The Galaxy S3 on the other hand fills up the entire 4.8" screen with not only video but everything else, including texting, messaging, web browsing, and everything else I tried. So what gives? Why did you even create a 4.7" screen if you aren't going to utilize it to its full potential?
View 6 Replies View RelatedOn Oct 20, we switched from AT&T to Verizon Wireless after being with AT&T for over 10 years. We had iPhones and had to get new phones when we switched. The Verizon salesperson convinced me and my adult daughter to get the RAZR HD that had just come out and he said it was better than the iPhone. My husband stayed with an iPhone because he is a commercial pilot and needed to use aviation apps that were not available on a DROID phone. Initially we were very impressed with the RAZR HD until my daughter had a problem with hers after just 20 days of use. She is an EMT and was on duty sitting in her ambulance. She has to have a phone on her while working. She used her phone several times and had it in her front pocket. She took the phone out of her pocket to call us and the screen was black and not functioning—a few minutes before it was working fine. She noticed some spider cracks in the LCD at the edge of the screen. She took the phone back to the store where it was purchased and the Verizon salesperson accused her of abusing/dropping it and said she would have to file an insurance claim which would cost $99. I was shocked. Our iPhones had heavy mobile use and were even dropped several times, including on cement, but never failed. I told our daughter we had no intention of filing an insurance claim for a defective product that should be covered under warranty. For all we know, it had damage before we even bought it from Verizon. But when she contacted Motorola, they said a screen failure due to a cracked screen was not covered but she could send it in to be evaluated. When we read the warranty, it does not say this. It says it doesn't cover damage caused by accidents, abuse, misuse, including improper usage or operation, abuse or neglect, or impact damage, such as dropping the phone. The phone had not been dropped, abused, or misused. There is not a scratch or any physical damage on the phone and the glass. The phone failed under normal use. The LCD screen under the glass fractured. Normal use should not cause this unless there was a manufacturer's defect in the phone. I.contacted my dad who works with digital and analog wireless technologies/hardware, and he told us to file a warranty claim. He said the phone has an accelerometer in it that detects G-force and impact and Motorola should provide us the data that shows the phone was impacted outside the tolerance thresholds for normal use. Well clearly Motorola and Verizon are just scamming customers and ripping them off. How convenient for Motorola to automatically tell a client all screen failures are due to customer damage. We should have stuck with iPhones and the AppleCare. Apple stands behind the quality of their products and would have never questioned replacing a phone for a defective LCD, i.e., no broken glass, just screen failure. You get a replacement on the spot. Oh but not Motorola—mail it in and then you are without a phone for how long??? We are going on 24 days now. Motorola got the phone and sent a picture of the phone screen (included) and said it was physically damaged—said it would cost $99 to fix—interesting how that is the same amount as the Verizon insurance deductible. Really--they are insulting my intelligence... I called them up and told them to provide me the accelerometer data—I wanted proof the phone was damaged by us and not defective. They still have the phone and have not responded to my request for over a week now. I told customer service that Motorola should be ready for a fight—we will file a report with the FTC and the BBB if they don't repair or replace the phone at no cost. I am very angry about this poor customer service. If we dropped the phone and cracked it up, well that is what insurance is for and that is why we bought the insurance. I would not expect Motorola to fix a phone for free if we broke it, but this is not the case and it is just outrageous. I am worried the same thing will soon happen to my RAZR HD which has overheated while it was charging. The phone is so thin that any expansion in the case is going to put pressure on the LCD. I am wondering how we are going to make it through a 2-year contract with Verizon when the Motorola phone can't even handle normal mobile use. I used my AT&T iPhone 3Gs for over 3 years before switching to Verizon and the RAZR HD and the iPhone still works well as a Smart device for email, photos and music. Clearly Apple has a superior product and also knows how to take care of customers. We called Motorola customer service again today since we aren't seeing any information online regarding the current status of our phone, and they couldn't even tell us what the status is. They have had the phone for over 2 weeks. If Motorola doesn't do what is right, they will lose us as customers. This is so frustrating.

View 14 Replies View RelatedSo I was on a road trip today and when I plugged in the phone in the car dock I had full battery. Then I turned on navigation and slacker radio. About an hour travel the battery started to charge according to the battery icon. My question is, why did the battery discharge while on external power? Does the factory charger not have enough capacity to charge the phone while being used? If so something is wrong with the whole designe of the charging system.

It has did this twice in the last week. I have not run it til it shuts off so I don't know how long it would last from 20% to being out of juice.
View 6 Replies View RelatedYesterday I checked my battery usage and Moto cast was at 20%! I did not transfer any files between the PC and the phone and when I do, I still do it by copying and pasting. I did however find some Amazon downloads that were in the phone's internal memory and transfered them to the SD card. When I used "My Files" to move those files, I first used the "move" command which did not seem to do anything. Did this activate Motocast? I eventually moved them by using copy and then paste on the phone. Here's what I got in the battery manager right now. I'm at 90%
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm currently having an issue with the Droid Razr M where it begins rebooting when the battery is low. After the phone boots back up, it immidiatly reboots again and will continue doing this forever. The only solution I've found thus far is to boot into safe mode and uninstall the 3rd party launcher (doesn't matter which one). This will allow the phone to be booted into normal mode again. However, regadarless of if a launcher is installed or not, the phone will begin rebooting again the next time the power gets low.
