My phone has started to freeze, when I pull the menu bar down, when I am in apps, just any time. when it freezes, the buttons do not work. The battery dies within an hour of being off the charger. I do not know what to do, or why it has started to do this.

I have done the reset and the restore to factory settings and manually reinstalled my apps. The battery continues to drain. It will not last a day without recharging. Usage shows Safari is taking up the most of the battery usage. Safari is not open, yet it takes up most of the battery. This is both before and after the restore to factory settings. I did not restore from back up in case the back up was corrupted.
FYI- I have an iPod Touch which is doing the same thing. I took it to the Genius Bar and it was replaced due to a firmware issue. The replacement is now demonstrating the same issues. Restoring to factory settings and manually reinstalling all of the apps worked for a while, but it has now reverted to the same behavior. It had none of these problems prior to the update to iOS 8.

On Friday, Feb 24 I started having a problem with the battery dying after 4 to 5 hours. If I caught it as the phone was about to die I stuck it on the charger but noticed that it was taking longer than normal to charge as well. I checked what was eating up my battery and it said the process that was using the most juice was called "evbridge". I thought it was possibly an app that I had downloaded so I reset the phone to stock. No dice. (Note: My phone is not rooted.) I looked online and noticed that others that were having this problem owned a Lapdock. I have a Lapdock and use it frequently. I tried ending the "Webtop Connector" service to no avail. The only was I can get normal battery life is by restarting my phone.
I wasn't having any problems for the last couple months that I've been using my Lapdock. I did, however, receive an OTA update shortly before I started having this problem. I have also noticed that my phone gets oddly warm when the evbridge process is running. Roasts the leg pretty good.
Below is a screen shot from my Maxx. I don't know if the screen consumption is ordinary, but I am surprised that the screen alone is causing substantially more than half of the battery drain. I have the brightness set on auto, and I turn the screen off every time after I finish using the phone. Is this consumption normal?

View 24 Replies View RelatedI usually watch Netflix in bed then go to sleep. In the last week, I occasionally wake up to find my batter drained (down 80+%) overnight. According to GSAM, the culprit is Android Core Apps. Not sure what that is. I thought maybe Netflix was still downloading, but that's not Android Core Apps.
This is Nexus 6 on 5.1.1 using mobile radio only (no wifi).
After I update to V22 it seems that the battery it drain much quickly and another problem is that sometimes if i close the phone and then start again sometimes it's starts,appear nokia logo and then it close ,I push again the power button and then it starts (sometimes I must try 2-3 times until it starts).
I got to say that before it doesn't happened and before update to V22 I hard reset my phone including my mass memory and memory card sow the phone was like new.
I've recently bought Xperia z2 but right now i'm having severe battery drain issue. At the first day it showed me average time of one & half day but right now its draining much faster & i'm only getting battery life of 13-14 hrs, only using wifi & music app. stamina mode is active but still no progress. How to reduce battery drain? i've seen some post in this blog where people said they are getting battery life of around 4 days.

So the iP4 gets a full charge at night and it's 100%. I disconnect it and leave it idle (nothing is running). I wake up it's at 68%??
Does it have to do anything with me restoring it from a 3GS backup?
If yes, then how can I backup everything (contacts, notes, sms, photos/vids) and then set it up as a new phone then restore that data?
This just happened recently. I can feel the thing in my pocket heating up. The battery goes from full charge to empty in the matter of a couple hours.
Oddly though, this morning it said I had no service and my phone was normal temp and the battery lasted a long time. Or course i needed services so I turned the phone off and on and the service was back and so was the hot phone.
The phone is over a year old. I've tried all of the trick. Hard Reboot. Reset all of my settings etc.
I took my iPhone4 into the Apple store so they can look at the battery issue I think I am having. Here is a screen shot of the performance of the battery before my visit.
They said the phone needed to be reset to a new phone because I initially choose to use the backup of my last iPhone when I initialized and there is probably a software problem which is draining your battery faster.
Me: Well, Ok. But can you please run a diagnostic on the phone before we reinitialize.
Apple: No. There is noting wrong with the batter, this is a software problem.
Me: Ok.
So this next screen shot is after using the phone after initializing as a factory reset.
I am not seeing any difference in the performance if anything it is a little worse.
Do you all think I have a problem or is this normal performance for the iPhone4 battery? Apples website claims the phone should be standby 300hours, internet, 10hours.
I haven't been doing any heavy use just normal internet use, some angry bird action and a couple video shots.
What type of performance are you all having?
I recently upgraded to 5.1 on my AT&T 32GB iPhone 4S. I have noticed that my usage time since last charge, taken at 1% battery level from a full charge, is about 4 hours and 45 minutes of usage and about 9 hours and 15 minutes of standby time. Is anyone getting battery drain this quickly? I have followed all the battery saving tips from restricting Ping and iAds to getting rid of most notifications and removing a lot of location services except for Maps and Safari. I also adjusted brightness to auto and deselected the "Send usage logs to Apple."

My iphone 4s is only a few months old. After I updated the latest software update I noticed my battery drains down to red every day. This has never happened. My local ATT store said to minimize all the programs on the bottom of the screen. I've never had to do that before so I can't imagine that's the problem?

I downloaded a game from the App Store that took most of my battery life away so I deleted that, but my battery is still draining very quickly. I also did a the lock screen/home button reset a few times but that didn't work either.

I keep most of my apps closed, don't send messages, rarely talk on the phone, don't play games or watch videos, don't even listen to music, have set most of my apps not to refresh in the background (maybe I don't need a phone?) and my battery drops to 30% in 8 hours after being charged all night. My iPhone 4, since updating to the most recent software, had started crashing when it gets down to 50% and 50% on the dot every time. Now it seems to crash whenever it feels like it but never will it get below 50%. The only way the phone turns back on is when it is connected to a power source once again. I don't even get the dead battery signal when trying to re-boot or anything. Now it would sound like the issue is my battery but I booted up my 3GS with the latest update and same exact thing happens. The battery drains from 100%-90% @ regular speed and from 90%-70% the thing really starts moving quick and from 70%-50% it's just a guess as to when it will die in that region. The issue is such a deal that it's basically rendering my phone useless. If I wanted to leave a phone plugged into my wall I would still have a house phone.
